Fantastic tour!!! We went on the "Pirates and Booty" tour with Christie and it was a phenomenal experience. The guide knew exactly where to take us and we got to explore some great hidden gems. Christie was charismatic and accommodated our requests. We paid $25 each and visited... 5 bars? Maybe six. They were all different types of establishments and came with great stories! We had the opportunity to purchase drinks everywhere we went (including absinthe) but were never pressured to do so. Christie knew where free water was served too, so we all stayed hydrated. We would definitely recommend this tour for couples looking for a fun night in New Orleans! **This tour does mostly take place in and around Bourbon Street at night, so if that's not your thing then you might want to look for a more family-friendly tour. read more

Love the focus on history and not on hocus pocus. This is not a hokey tour dripping in salacious details of New Orleans' by gone citizenry or in spinning fanciful tales of ghosts or the undead. Neither is it a boring recitation of dry facts. If you like history and knowledgeable guides who love this city and respect it, this is the tour to choose. Added plus, they don't overbook so the group isn't too large to either manage, negotiate around or hear. read more

I'm not going to lie, I was a little skeptical heading into this tour. On a crazy busy holiday weekend with literally thousands of people roaming the streets, we were able to take The Undead tour with only 8 people and our tour guide, Michael (who was incredibly nice, funny and a great storyteller). We had been walking all day in the sun and here we were at 8 p.m. I was just not feeling it. I tend to be a little cranky when I'm tired and my heart just wasn't in it. However, Michael did a pretty amazing job of keeping us entertained and answered our questions and I was able to perk back up . I don't want to ruin the ending of the tour but let's just say that my experience in the ladies bathroom of the MRB was a little crazy and didn't seem like a true life ghost story until I heard why that bar was so haunted. Let's just say you will now probably get to hear my story if you are lucky enough to get Michael as a tour guide. I still have goosebumps. I was always a believer in the supernatural but now I have definitive proof that the MRB is indeed haunted. Do yourself a favor and take this tour! Being able to take this tour in a small group was so much better than the group of 40 or so that we toured with before. Thanks again for an awesome night, Michael! read more

No trip to New Orleans is complete without visiting the St. Louis #1 Cemetery. After perusing Yelp reviews, we chose Dark Crescent's Haunted Cemetery Tour thanks to its high ratings. Our tour guide met us near Jackson Square and took us through the French Quarter to the cemetery, offering anecdotes along the way and even stopping for a quick break en route to get water. We spent the majority of the tour in the cemetery itself. The guide was great, focusing more on historical facts than the supernatural, though plenty of ghost stories were interspersed in her narratives. The tour offered a detailed account of New Orleans from its beginning to how it exists today, which was more than I would have expected from a cemetery tour. If you're searching just for the supernatural kitsch, this may not be the tour company for you. If you want an interesting, historical tour, check out Dark Crescent Tours. The guides will deliver plenty of creepiness but also help you develop an appreciation for New Orleans' history. read more

We took a buggy ride in New Orleans, and the driver suggested Dark Crescent Tours to us. Since we loved her ride so much, we decided to take her up on the offer. We were a little sketched out, as the tour started in-front of this hole in the wall bar (it smelled funny, and I did not even want to get a beer from it). I did use the bathroom, and YUK. As we waited for the tour, we talked with our ghost guide, Tom. He was very personable and made us feel right at home. He collected tickets and money. As the tour began he told us how to stay safe, and his general rules about staying out of the way of those trying to get by the tour. I am glad he did, as other tour groups did not pay the same respects and it was ANNOYING. He was very respectful, and it made our time that much better. The tour started at the Mississippi river with a nice story about the water and spirits. It continued down the old french quarter for two hours! I won't give away the stories, but he was knowledgeable about the history, and the way he told the stories was engaging and believable. We passed all the historical sites, including the old nunary (some vampire stories), the home of Marie Laveau and the Lalaurie mansion (slave stories). We even stopped for a beer and bathroom break. WHAT A GREAT TOUR. This tour is for those who want more of a historical background on the city, not so much to be scared of ghosts. FYI: This tour does not include any graveyards. But we are SO glad we went. I recommended to all! Money well spent. Thank you, Tom! read more

On our last night of a long weekend spent in New Orleans, my friend and I decided it would be fun to learn about the grisly history of the city. We found the "Morbid Curiosities" tour listed with Dark Crescent Tours and thought it would be interesting. A major storm was coming into town that evening, and after booking, Lisa (our tour guide and Dark Crescent Tours co-owner) called to see if we wanted to reschedule. We were leaving at 6am the next morning so we knew we couldn't reschedule. Since we were the only two on the 7pm tour and the storm was coming, we asked Lisa if she would meet us earlier and condense the 2 hour tour into an hour or so to try finishing before the storm hit. Lisa was happy to accommodate us. Needless to say, the rain started about a half hour into the tour. Lisa continued on as if she wasn't soaking wet from the pouring rain. My friend and I felt so bad being the only two on the tour and still seeing Lisa bravely carry on, so we concluded it after about 50 minutes. In that time, we were able to hear about and see: -Lalaurie House -The Sultan's Palace -The Pharmacy Museum -Old Ursuline Convent -Omni Hotel -Jackson Square -Muriel's Restaurant ...among many other little stories about alleyways, and the city in general! We were so glad we were able to squeeze this tour into our visit, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone who finds the darkness of a city just as important to its history as the beauty! read more

Great tour. We were the only 2 on the tour so we were able to hear about what we wanted to hear about. This tour took us in different areas that we had not seen before like the river, French market and the lalaurie house. We took the morbid curiosities and it wasn't cheesy, overall good tour. Our tour guide was a good sport and enthusiastic. read more

Dark Crescent Tours did an amazing job of donating supernatural tours to a local charity that serves at-risk children. Michael in particular gave a spectacular job, and the participants are still raving about what a great time they had. Brian was our tour guide. He was fantastic. He had a real knowledge of the city and cemetery. Seemed to show and tell us things that most guides would. He even showed my wife and I a little out of the way place to grab some food. read more

I took two tours through dark crescent. The first one was the cemetery tour with Ashley. She was absolutely fantastic, so personable and incredibly knowledgeable about everything in the area. She answered all of our questions very thoroughly. This tire also takes you into new Orleans cemetery no 1, which you can only get into with a licensed tour. The second tour I took was the undead tour with Thomas. He was such a fantastic tour guide. I can't say enough about him. He was so animated and kept everyone enthralled with his stories. Definitely one of the best tour guides I've ever had. I did notice that this tour company prides itself on being factual. Most of the information they give is spot on, so if you're looking for an accurate tour, this company is the place to go. read more

I've visited New Orleans many times through the years, taking many different ghost/history tours with each visit. Taking a tour with Thomas is by far the most informational and entertaining tour I've ever taken. He's full of actual facts about stories and events that have actually taken place throughout the French Quarter, as well as the cemeteries. He will tell you if a story is true (documented) or hearsay. Touring with Mr. Thomas at Dark Crescent Tours will not be disappointing, in fact you'll have much more knowledge about the stories of New Orleans and the many spirits that reside there. I highly suggest taking a tour with Thomas!! read more

Thomas was great! We had a group that was smaller but not gonna lie annoying. People were late because they were in a little fender bender which is totally understandable but he had to call them 15 minutes after we were supposed to start. It would have been nice if they had let us know. Then he would just tell a story and almost every stop someone would ask a question that if they had listened he just said in the story. But he handled it well. He was funny and entertaining. This tour company is known for being a bit more theatrical and it was more true history and local legend combinded than trumped up stories. read more

We were walking down the street when we ran into a group of pirates. It turns out they were actually employees of Dark Crescent Tours looking to sign people up for a tour of St. Louis #1 cemetery. My family had discussed doing a cemetery tour during our New Orleans vacation, we just didn't know we were going to do it right now. Our tour guide was Thomas and he rocked. Thomas provided some great insight to New Orleans and the French Quarter, as we walked to the cemetery. He really knows the history of the area and presents it with a flair that only Thomas can provide. It was a warm day and I was concerned that Thomas would over heat as he was dressed in an overcoat, scarf, hat, and stick-on wool beard. I quickly learned that Thomas is a true professional and he barely broke a sweat. The tour was very informative and enjoyable and Thomas was impressive with his vast knowledge of dead people, area history, and how it all ties in to pop culture. I highly recommend Dark Crescent Tours on your next visit to New Orleans. read more

Did this tour with Ashely I believe here name was and honestly 5 stars for her. Great gal hilarious knwoledgable and cool as hell. She showed us a lot and brought us to cool places. Was such a great tour I recommend doing it with her if you are going to do it great time! read more

We did the supernatural tour with tour guide Thomas last night and I can honestly say it was one of the best tours we have done in New Orleans. We have taken lots of different tours and Thomas was really informative, offered new and different stories than we have heard before, and even pointed out details in the French quarter that add to it's charm and history that would otherwise go unnoticed. I would recommend this tour company, guide, etc to all my friends and will be taking more tours from them. The group was small and that was another plus. Some of these groups get so big you can hardly hear the guide, much less ask any questions. Thomas spent nearly an extra hour with us and our curious minds and we hardly even noticed, the time just flew by! Highly recommend, you won't be sorry. read more

Dark Crescent Tours was the way to go for a spooky supernatural tour of new orleans. Thomas was our guide and he was incredible, told us all the stories about the French Quarter and the spooky stuff of New Orleans and it's related history. Was super knowledgeable when answering our questions, while being all around friendly and personable. The tour itself is a great walking tour, I thought two hours was going to be too long but time seemed to fly by and you aren't "quite" walking a full two hours so never fear, your feet won't get too exhausted but wear comfortable shoes! It was raining on and off during our tour so it was nice to be in the smaller sized group (6 people) so we could hear everything. I would've liked to try their other tours if time had permitted! read more

Thomas is THE MAN! I recently went on the supernatural tour and I had such a blast!! I found Dark Crescent Tours through a few recommended sites and so happy to have selected them over the others. Thomas was the perfect tour guide and I felt so informed about every nook and cranny of the French Quarters. It was well paced and a comfortable walking tour, spending each and every minute going over why the group stopped at the location. Thomas goes through all the folklore, urban legend tales, a history lesson of the buildings, the people involved in each story, and of course, the unexplained. Whether the tales are true or not, it gives you just the right amount of interest and spook! Perfect for a "haunted" tour with a dark past but not being vulgar/gruesome to disturb you. The overall tour was say 1.5 to 2 hours long. I honestly did not feel it was that long, I wished it was longer since Thomas is that great!! He makes it fun, he makes it interesting and he asks questions/answers questions along the way. It's great for audiences of all ages (maybe not too long since it is almost 2 hours in duration if you get tired easily) but what a great thing to do on your trip here to NOLA. Thanks again Dark Crescent Tours and especially Thomas. They made reservations easy and being out of towners, easily be able to find where the tour starts with a GIANT sign. Bravo! read more

We did this night tour on a trip to NO. I have to say, DCT is a great company to go with, especially if you go with Thomas. He's a fabulous orator and you can tell that his knowledge of the town is deep. He even looks the part of a haunted tour docent. As we walked around I noticed that there were several other tours happening at the same time almost on every block. Occasionally, we could overhear the other guides doing their spiels to the groups they were showing around. None of them were as good as Thomas. I highly recommend him if you choose this company for your haunted tour services, not sure if they take requests but sure worth asking. :) read more

Our leprechaun tour guide was awesome. At first sight I thought I was going to be cheesy but it was the exact opposite. You could tell that he was very passionate about the history of the town. IF you love drunk history you will love this tour. we took the night haunted tour. read more

We got lucky to have Jennifer as our tour guide because the guy we were supposed to have called in sick. She was really great and knowledgeable about the city of New Orleans. Dark Crescent is an off-the-beaten-path group. Thomas knows his New Orleans history. The other more recognized tour groups have 15-20 people per guide so I don't even know how you can hear anything at all as noisy a place as the french quarter is. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again. Use the Yelp deal (2 for 1!) read more

Best walking tour ever! This tour tops every tour I have ever done previously for NOLA. And, I hardly ever write reviews. Connor is an excellent storyteller! He is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of French Quarter and engaging with the various stories as the tour walked the streets at night. My boyfriend and I were comparing our best moments of our last trip to NOLA and both of us thought this tour topped the list! I would highly recommend Connor and Dark Crescent Tours. read more

This is my second time in New Orleans and my second tour with Thomas. My friend and I went on a haunted tour with him last year and had such a great time we made sure to book him again this year for the Morbid Curiosities tour. Informative, fun and entertaining! And sooo many gruesome stories. I highly recommend him! I usually try to take a waking tour of the cities I visit and he is by far the best guide I've had over the years. read more

Thomas did a fantastic job. It was raining and windy throughout the night during the Undead Tour, but he didn't keep that from hindering the tour. It was just my fiancé and I due to the weather, but we really enjoyed ourselves. The guide was very informative and answered all our questions. I would definitely recommend this tour group. And thanks again for taking us out in the rain! read more

My boyfriend and I decided to learn a little more about the dark history of New Orleans, so we went on the Morbid Curiosity tour. Our tour guide Michael knew a lot about the city, and had some spooky stories of his own to tell. New Orleans has some seedy secrets that you might not know unless you chat with some locals that can show you around. I would recommend this tour to anybody that wants to experience more than just the bar scene. read more

A local friend recommended Wendy when we said we wanted to take a haunted New Orleans tour. Wendy is very knowledgeable and a great story teller. Our group was small (about 15 people; Dark Crescent only takes groups of 16 or less) which made it easy to ask questions and be able to interact with the guide. I highly recommend Dark Crescent Tours and would request Wendy as she goes into great detail and seems to enjoy guiding people through the city. Great job and we're glad we took this tour. read more

Thomas is amazing! He gave a private tour to me, my husband, and 2 friends. I couldn't have asked for a beget experience! Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, he's also wicked funny, and customized the tour slightly to our wishes. Absolutely, 100% recommend booking a tour with Dark Crescent! read more

I had a great tour with Brian. He was fun, laid back and told a great story. I highly recommend this tour.

My fiancé and I went on a very informative night tour from 8-10 pm with Thomas. He was very knowledgeable in his history of New Orleans. I first took this tour not knowing if I would enjoy a "ghost tour" but ended up finding myself completely fascinated, even enchanted at times. We walked along the Mississippi river enjoying the New Orleans cityscape then wandered through interesting parts of the French Quarter away from the drunken mobs (which are also fun!) The colorful folklore was definitely worth the ticket price but I unexpectedly learned a lot of the city's history too. I have taken out-of-town guests on the same tour 4 times and I still enjoy it. Ask for Thomas, he's definitely the best guide through New Orleans unique past. read more

Connor was a great tour guide!! I could hear other tour guides near us and they sounded very boring. Connor was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of New Orleans. Thomas was a fantastic tour guide. We did the French Quarter/Cemetery tour with him, as a surprise gift for my boyfriend, who loved it.
