With a big smile and a cheerful "hola," she seated us right away. She went above and beyond, recommending the best tapas selections to start, and before we even had a chance to order, she brought over a warm bowl of potaje and jamón ham con pan--such a thoughtful touch! We ordered two refreshing local draft beers, Estrella de Galicia, and dug into the delicious appetizers. The casa croquettes, Iberian ham, small scallops, and of course, the Galician octopus, were all simply amazing. Each bite was a true taste of Galicia's culinary brilliance. After a second round of beers, we were so stuffed that we had to call it a day just as they were preparing to close at 2:00 PM for their lunch break. This spot has an amazing vibe and you can tell it's one of the locals favorite as it reas full of young people adding to the energy. This place quickly became one of my favorite while in A Coruña and merits multiple visits. Last year the crown was won by the bar across the alley from them but in our opinion Casa Miranda has not lost a step. We have to say we have never had a better tortilla. We have yet to find anything on their menu that dissatisfies. Funky old world decor, and normally packed with those in-the-know about where to get honest food and reasonable prices. Beware though they do get busy and its best to come early or scout it out to go when there is a break in the action. Table service is fine but for better service and a more interactive experience stand at the bar.....it's great. We will be back.

We are American travelers and were staying with in-laws near Viveiro. 8 of us were on our way back from Ourense and stopped in Lugo to break up the long drive. I thought we would have a quick drink and some light fare and get on the road. My brother-in-law made a quick reservation and we found Campos. We had gone to the thermal hot springs in Ourense and a few of us were dressed in jeans; I was in a heavy black hooded sweatshirt. We later recalled feeling uncomfortable to realize that we were in such a fancy place, where everyone else was clearly dressed for fine dining, and I was a little shocked by the prices. By the end of coffee and dessert we had spent nearly 400€ with only one bottle of wine. But if you are used to spending like that, or if this is a reach but you want a special meal, we highly recommend Campos. The wait staff were utterly professional, warm and slightly reserved. The room was beautiful and tastefully decorated, with lovely lighting, bright enough yet not overbearing. Our meals and desserts were served on very lovely handmade pottery (modern, not rustic).
