I had an extremely frustrating experience with this office. I was told on three separate occasions that they were in-network with my insurance and that I needed to pay upfront to be reimbursed by insurance. That information was incorrect, they are not in-network, and I ended up paying nearly $1,000 out of pocket. When I attempted to submit claims through a secondary insurance, it took months for the office to process anything. I had also been to the office three times to have my records sent to a new dentist (I also paid a fee to send them- they never informed me of the fee they just added it to my bill) and the records still had not been sent until my fourth visit to the office. On top of all of this, the office is frequently closed during their posted business hours, they rarely answer the phone, and getting any follow-through has been extremely difficult. I had to pay $600 up front for a dental deep cleaning even though Anthem covered majority of it. Appointments began at the beginning of March. In May, I began inquiring about the dentist reimbursing me since the EOB's had verified all of the charges that they had paid Wakefield and that is what receptionist said they needed to reimburse me. Wakefield received payment from Anthem two months ago. It's July 10th and they still haven't reimbursed me. I stopped in yesterday because they won't return my calls or answer my phone calls. I even called Anthem who called their office and they HUNG UP ON THEM!! Sara assured me the billing office would call me last night, but she refused to tell me what the issue was. Apparently, the billing department works at home (it's probably Darcy herself). Guess what - as expected, no call. I asked to speak with Darcy and she either hid in the back or wasn't there - she doesn't return phone calls either. Anthem suggested I file a complaint. This is the most unprofessional medical office I've ever dealt with. They owe me over $500 and they're making every excuse they can to avoid paying me. Do NOT pay them up front as you will never see your money. They messed with the wrong patient this time. read more

This dental office seems to find many ways to make additional money from their patients. They recently dropped our insurance without notifying us. They charge $10 per person to send records to other dentists. I work in the medical profession and have NEVER seen such a fee tacked on. I was stunned. There is little continuity with which practitioner you see and it never felt like they cared about me. They always seem busy, so others must not have shared my experience. read more

I had an appt for 11am on Tuesday, March 21st. Over the weekend I got sick (contagious sick too). I called at 9am Monday morning to RESCHEDULE my appointment. I was told that the non refundable CANCELLATION deposit I already paid would be kept and that I needed to pay another one. I was giving more than 24 hour notice AND I WASN'T CANCELLING, I was rescheduling. I will find a new dentist because that is the most absurd policy. Why would anyone ever make an appt if they knew if an emergency came it they would be out 100 bucks. Unbelievable, really. read more

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! DO NOT GO HERE unless of course you like to be pushed to make purchases for teeth whitening systems and other over priced dental hygiene products on your way out the door, and then offered gift cards in exchange for positive google reviews. They also contract there record keeping department to a third party vendor. What does that mean for you? It means a company outside there establishment had access to you and your families personal medical and dental records and it means you have to pay money if you want copies (not the originals because that's now impossible) of your records to give to your new dentist that you are going to find. Want clean fresh feeling teeth after that cleaning you been waiting for? Go someplace else to get it. They don't even clean teeth half as good as other dentists in the area. This dentist will also schedule you out when you are in pain rather than get you in sooner or ,better yet, treat you while you are already there. The office is very modern and very clean but that is all this establishment has going for them.. beware of getting treatments that your insurance doesn't cover too. It's unfortunate, but they will give you treatments not covered by insurance and the only way you will find out is after the billed amount comes out of your account. Based upon the "not so great" experience that I had with this office and from talking to others in our small town I would not be able to recommend this company. I like to talk our small community up, but I have unfortunately not heard any thing positive about this practice. I would instead recommend Dr. Maximo's office! His receptionist is MUCH sweeter than Dr.Wakefield's. The receptionist at Dr.Maximo's office is very personable where as the receptionist at Dr.Wakefield's office has zero personality. You really have to watch the cost of services performed at Dr.Wakefield's office as well. I found that Dr.Maximo's prices were a bit more reasonable. I realize that I'm only comparing two doctors office's, because personally I have only visited Dr.Maximo's and Dr.Wakefield's offices. Therefore, based upon the "word around town" and my own experience I would not refer any of my family or friends to this office. read more
