My family found this zoo when we were going to see the the Sanctuary of the Immaculate Conception…read moreon San Cristóbal Hill. The zoo had very reasonably priced tickets.
We grabbed some maps by the front desk and started to explore the zoo. My family and I saw a variety of different animals: lions, tigers, bears, meerkats, giraffes, leopards, red pandas, elephants, reptiles, amphibians, penguins, primeapes, wolves, and all kinds of different birds. My family and I got to see a good amount of South American animals that we had never seen before in person. The zoo had a white peacock in their bird exhibit, and he was quite the sight, I had never seen a white peacock before and it was definitely a memorable moment. My family also got to see a white tiger in the zoo's tiger exhibit. Unfortunately my family could not get a get photograph of the tiger but he was quite beautiful.
In conclusion, the zoo was quite fun and definitely worth the money. My family had a good time here and we got to see animals that we had never before come across. I would definitely recommend stopping by if you are in santiago. They have tour buses that can drop you off really close to the zoo. If you have or rented your own car, the zoo has it's own parking lot.
