What a mess this guy is! I sent along a very specific note outlining that each piece of this 100+ year old china set needed to be wrapped individually in bubble wrap which he actually included in the shipment. The owner wrapped almost ALL of the pieces in just cardboard, literally. They. Were. Wrapped. In. Cardboard. However, the receipt clearly shows that he charged for each piece to be bubble wrapped individually. He, of course, refused to offer any sort of refund for the overcharge.
Needless to say, two of the pieces wrapped solely in cardboard showed up with cracks and chips. Zero damage to the outside of the box which means that the damage was solely due to the inadequate protection. When I called him to complain, while he acknowledged the set was in perfect condition when he packed it he refused to acknowledge that his poor packing was at fault for the damage. He kept going on and on about how he's been in business for 6 years which is pretty hilarious considering that my ebay account, which I use to buy antique porcelain, is 3 times older than that. Because he's been in business for 6 years he was also pretty adamant that I knew nothing about how fragile items should be shipped. He also had a really weird chip on his shoulder about me living in New York and being a New Yorker which he quickly shut up about once I let him know I grew up in a rural area of Georgia.
