Her office is in a great location and super easy to get to. The office itself is very relaxing and I could feel my stress going down when I walked in. She began by sitting with me and going over my history, questions, issues, etc. She explained and demonstrated what she does and why she does it. She even took out a spine model. Honestly, no one had ever done that before and it gave me such a better understanding of my pain. She really took the time to get to know me. She takes a more holistic approach and believes that when you treat the spine you are not only treating back pain, but effecting every system in your body. I couldn't agree more. The adjustment itself was amazing. I am officially addicted. SInce I began seeing her my lower back pain and migraines have disappeared. I also feel more relaxed and less stressed for days after my visit. She even gave me great reading material for my subway ride home :) Although she doesn't take insurance, her prices are very reasonable and I could afford it without insurance which is awesome. My last chiropractor, Dr Phil Wilner, who I was a patient of for more than 10 years and who is a fantastic chiropractor, decided to move his practice to Colorado. That was in 2009. Anyways for a few years I was in limbo, I tried a few chiropractors but didn't find anyone who's adjustments worked for me. At one point I gave up and bought an inversion table. Basically its machine that flips you upside down to stretch and straighten out your back. Unfortunately that only does so much and one day I saw Dr Benedikt on Amazon's local deals and decided to give him a try since it was close to where I work. The initial consultation was pretty standard stuff but the back adjustment was exactly what I was looking for (muscle stim, upper back adjustment, hip and neck). YMMV but I've been a patient of Dr. Benedikt's for a year and a half. I go for a back adjustment every month or two. The only thing I wish is, my previous chiropractor put heated towels or heat pads over the area where he did the muscle stims. Aside from that I've been a happy patient.

Now about Dr. Misty Dickason she is great, excellent, caring and understanding of the situation i was going through. I've been to offices that are very Mc-chiropractic like (meaning they want you in and out of the door as quick as possible). She's not like that. You get on a stretching bed for a few minutes, she'll give you heat...then the adjustment. MAN! I wish I could have a cigarette afterwards, it's so good! She takes insurance too, which I'm glad for since that was how I found her (which was after an injury I sustained in bootcamp class). I also have digestive issues which along with tweaking my diet, chiropractic adjustments help, go figure. The adjustments keep me on a level. On Thursdays she has her masseuse in her Flatiron office...overall, just a pleasant experience. Plus she's very hip and cool :)
