It seems that this location is not open as consistently as the Birthplace Historical Site nearby. It was closed on the day that we happened to be around, but we were still able to park and walk around. There's a visitor center / gift shop and a replica cabin representing Lincoln's boyhood home. Beyond that, there are some trails and an overlook onto a prairie, but overall the park is small. It's worth a stop if you are in the area visiting other Lincoln sites, but it's less impressive than the Birthplace Historical Site nearby.

Yet; until you get to the top of the ridge; you have no clue what is behind it. Left Confederate Flank did not hit as many ridges; but, had their share of problems. As you walk the field; imagine you have no idea what is ahead of you except what you can see and imagine you are tired and thirsty and carrying 20-30 lbs of stuff.

I have a 3 and 5 year old and they both LOVED it. It's short, sweet, and just enough "wow" without being overwhelming. The cave itself is really cool, with some tighter crevices that made it feel a little adventurous (my kids thought that was the best part), but nothing too difficult or strenuous. If you're worried about that--don't be. It's super manageable and moves at a good pace. Price-wise, it felt totally worth it for a family stop. They've also got a little gift shop at the end which my kids obviously needed to check out lol. If you're passing through, just stop. It's a fun, easy memory to make and doesn't take up your whole day. Would 100% do it again.

For the last couple years my wife and I have taken to doing cave tours. We've done several in the…read morearea and only made it to Hidden River Cave & American Cave Museum recently. Unlike some cave attractions, you have to make a reservation to visit Hidden River. It's easy via their website. Once you arrive you can check in at the desk and then tour the museum and gift shop before your cave tour begins. The museum is self-guided and is two stories' worth of exhibits. There's a staircase that takes you down to the lower level where you'll find just as many exhibits as their is on the main floor. Everything is presented nicely, well lit, and informative. Shortly before your tour begins your tour guide will introduce himself, give you a brief overview of the cave, and then do a Q&A before heading to the cave entrance. This cave tour begins by descending some steps. A Lot of steps. The opening is very impressive, and as you ascend you can feel the temperature drop. A brief pause at the bottom of the steps and our tour guide pointed out some of the machinery left over from various uses of the cave in the past. Then it's into the cave. I love cave tours because it puts you in a place that's nothing but history. They're made by nature, often hidden for centuries, and, for all intents and purposes, somewhere that man isn't really intended to go...but we're Mankind and we do that kind of thing. Once inside the cave there are areas that are expansive and areas that are terrifically narrow. I love large, open spaces underground. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that your anywhere from 50 to over 100 feet below surface. In a fashion, it's a bit humbling. At the same time, you have to remind yourself that you're actually below a downtown area. The suspended bridge was definitely a highlight of this cave tour. Cleverly designed and installed, I'd almost consider an underground wonder. A little further along you come to the Sunset Dome, and the farther point of your tour. The Sunset Dome is a beautiful space. I just had to stop and listen to the silence. Nothing but silence, running was from an underground steam, and the occasional drop of water from above (a cave kiss). If only the others on our tour would have been to appreciate it more. After the Sunset Dome you hit rewind and head back along the same path you just took on the way in. Back cross the suspended bridge. Then back to the bottom of the staircase....which you now need to walk up. And there are A LOT of stairs. It was tough, I'm not going to lie. I'm in pretty good shape and I had to stop twice on the way up. Once you're up to the top you have a chance to visit the gift shop again and purchase a souvenir or two. I don't recall our tour guide's name, but he was pretty good. He did spent a fair amount of time patting himself on the back, stating at least 4 times that how long he'd been doing these tours and how he considered himself an expert. Weird flex, but ok. It was still a good tour and I'm glad we were finally able to get to Hidden River Cave.

The site is nice and clean and kept up. You have a 360 view of the area. It is in the middle of a cemetery. You can also find historical graves. The signs give some info on the site and there's a cool cannon. Nice break to take to check out a historical civil war fort. You don't need much time here, maybe 10 minutes to enjoy the view and sites

I saw several of my Yelp friends recommend a stop at the Museum and I was all in. I could hardly contain my excitement, seeing the iconic bucket marquee. Outside, in the perfectly manicured lot, stand petroleum artifacts from the Sanders early days as a gas station owner. A historical plaque describes the site. The Museum stands where Harland Sanders (the Colonel) once owned a small neighborhood restaurant, called Sanders. Here, his famous fried chicken took root. Inside, is a modern KFC counter. I be placed my order and was given a beeper. The Museum is filled with artifacts from 1940's to present including Sanders furniture, kitchen ware and an evolution of KFC logo packaging and trinkets. My favorite part of the exhibit was a video of Sanders describing how to prepare his chicken. I was truly inspired by his story as an entrepreneur. My lunch was fresher than any KFC that I had ever had. The chicken was crispy and flavorful. The coleslaw was so brightly colored that I knew it was made within the hour. And the potatoes took me back to my childhood. We spent about an hour total at the museum. There is no charge, except your meal. Restrooms are clean. The museum is fun and interesting. I highly recommend a stop, especially if you're a KFC fan.

He is a stonemason and the stones are set up along compass lines. This is a quiet, residential street and the rock formations are in his front yard. Really cool and unique roadside attraction in the small country city of Munfordville Kentucky…read more Being from Louisville I was headed to a nearby city bonnieville for a pig roast. I had seen this attraction on a roadside America site and decided to stop in real quick since it was only 5 minutes off my route. It's a bit over an hour drive from my home city of Lousiville so not too bad. Located a mile or so off the 65 expressway. When you pull in it is like your pulling into a neighborhood and this gem is just Sitting right there. Really cool place and the work they did is great. They did a good job of making this replica of the world famous one in England. I have no idea the motivation or reasoning behind this project. But it makes for a fun quick visit and photo ops. I had two of my 4 girls with me and they had fun running around and checking out the cool rock formations. So it was a really successful and fun trip. If your ever headed from Louisville towards Nashville keep this place in mind. It is before the cave city and bowling Green exits so makes for a fun stop if visiting one of those areas.
