The room where I waited was clean and organized, and they had some calming music playing which helped a bit. The assistant asked some questions and wrote down the responses while explaining a couple of things to expect. They seemed attentive and aware of what was going on around them. The doctor came in and had a calm tone which made it easier to explain things. We talked about a few recent changes I've been feeling and they made a few notes while asking clarifying questions. They didn't seem in a rush and actually waited for my full answer before speaking again. They shared some insights and what might be affecting my situation. I liked that they didn't claim to have all the answers right away and left room for follow up. It was a solid experience and the people working there gave off a respectful attitude without being too formal.

From my pre surgery appointment to my post colonoscopy, it went as "smooth" as one could expect. Dr Paul Nguyen perfectly articulated what to anticipate the day of. When I arrived at the surgery center for the procedure, I did not have to wait in the sitting room. They promptly brought me into the prep room where I was introduced to my nurse and anesthesiologist Dr Wong or (Dr Fong)? Nurse Julian got me dialed into my gurney and Dr. Wong careful administered my IV. I then was rolled into the surgical room where my favorite tunes were playing and I was greeted by Dr. Nguyen. Next thing I know, I was being rolled out of the room, waiting for my pick up and waving goodbye to the friendliest team of Drs. and nurses. If there is one more point worth mentioning...I never once was anxious or fearful. The staff was so well trained and organized. Because of their timely bedside care, I never had a chance to think too much about what was about to happen. If you are due for a colonoscopy and are worried about the experience, I would highly recommend scheduling your appointment with Dr. Nguyen. He and his staff are a class act. Thanks Dr. Nguyen, Dr Wong and staff! See you again in 7 years

I've had a really terrible time dealing with this office. The professionalism and communication has…read morebeen subpar. I had an emergency surgery scheduled with Dr. Nguyen back in March for an abscess. I did not have the surgeon explain the surgery to me prior to going in. At the hospital he just asked if I was ready to go back. I think the assumption was that I had the procedure before so I wouldn't need to be consulted. I was hospitalized for a couple of days following. I was supposed to have someone from the office come in and check on me and my wound, but my nurses were never quite sure when they were supposed to arrive due to lack of communication. One of the PAs from the office came to see me on the second day to check on my wound. She wasn't quite sure what she was meant to do and while in the room she kept texting the doctor for instructions which I found to be super unprofessional. I had my first recheck at the Watsonville office and the recheck went well. I had two insurances at the time and they already had one on file and then asked me to provide them with the other one which I sent an email to them with the information. This ended up being an issue later on because they never added the second insurance on file and that was the start of billing issues pertaining to the procedure I had with them. I reached out to the office for another recheck as I was having issues and felt that I had a fistula. They scheduled me with the PA Christina again and she did an ultrasound and said I had a fistula and required another surgery. They didn't prioritize this issue and scheduled me out a month to see the surgeon. During this visit I was provided a doctor's note for my work that was not well written by the medical assistant. I had to relay to my manager what she meant because of how it did not make sense. Between then and my appointment I had the office call and say they would no longer see me as a patient as they no longer worked with my insurance. I explained to them multiple times that this should be a continuation of care because it was an issue from the first surgery. We went back and forth several times about this. I had asked to speak to the manager a few times and the staff would go to look for her and claim she was in a meeting or she would relay information to me through the person on the phone but never spoke to me directly. They eventually learned that I was right and that they could still see me as it was an issue from the first surgery. When I saw the surgeon again he said he did not agree that I had a fistula and wanted to have imaging done. I was in the process of scheduling the imaging when not long after that I started to have issues where another abscess started to form. My wound was protruding out and fluid filled. I was experiencing discomfort at this time. They were able to fit me in, but it was with the PA again. She said I was starting to reform the abscess. I had an MRI done the day of that last appointment so they could see if I had a fistula. I got a call from the office to tell me they couldn't do my second surgery and they were dropping me as a patient. I never once got a call explaining what came up in the imaging. They told me to see this specialist surgeon and that was that At this point I had spent two months going back and forth with this office about numerous issues. I was very upset about how everything got handled and asked to speak to the office manager. When the office manager Jeanine called me I explained to her that I was frustrated with the communication. She said there were no notes stating I ever wanted to talk to her. I tried to explain the situation, but she was rude and dismissive. Dr. Nguyen did call me a few days later to discuss my frustrations and he was apologetic and took accountability which I appreciated. During that call he explained to me what they saw in the MRI which again no one had delayed to me prior. I requested my medical records and I was told I would get a call when they were ready. I called a month later asking about them. I got attitude from the girl on the phone stating that they have been ready all this time for pick up. I told her that I was told that I would get a call and she said there was a note that I requested them and that they had them ready. I tried to tell her I never got a call and got hung up on. I called back and it was the same girl, I asked for the manager and she was super dismissive. When I spoke to the manager a second time, I again had the same issue that she was dismissive and condescending. I told her about never getting a call and she claimed someone wrote a note but couldn't give me more information. This woman is very abrasive, rude, and unprofessional. I would recommend going elsewhere because of how unprofessional and unorganized they are. Please seek help elsewhere and document every interaction you have with them if they happen to be your only option.

How can one thank a person who has done such things?? Personally, I have words. So let me share my words... I have read the very lengthy code of ethics for physicians multiple times. I cannot imagine an imperfect human executing these more perfectly than he does. He values human life, dignity, autonomy, health, growth and opportunity more than he values his own sleep, his own wealth, his own self! ...as I have personally experienced Dr. Clark sacrificing himself on my behalf time and time again. He goes above and beyond for his patients (WAY). He is a physician because he cares, wants to collaborate with you to improve your lot in life, wants to make a difference, believes in humanity and in treating people with human-kindness, ...I could write a book. I am fortunate to have a medical insurance plan that reimburses me for a percentage of certain appointments with Dr. Motyka but I did have to adjust my budget quite a bit to be able to afford to sign up. I feel like it is worth it because Dr. Motyka has saved me countless hours of researching health options and feeling confused about which treatment to pursue when I have various ailments. She has also provided us with many very useful and effective health tips which I had never heard of before. I had pneumonia or bronchitis prior to seeing Dr. Motyka. I knew I needed to do something differently with my health if I was going to be able to keep on working so I made a regular appointment with Dr. Motyka to get to know her before signing up for her concierge service. After I became part of her concierge service she recommended a regime of supplements and my first-ever probiotics and my health has been very strong ever since. I have really appreciated having Dr. Motyka for my children's health care as well and feel that she has helped me feel I am doing a better job now about giving them quality medical care. She also gives me advice when I ask for it such as regarding dietary advice and post menopausal issues. Thanks to Dr. Motyka I have been able to lose a few extra pounds and she has been very helpful with navigating my post-menopausal issues. It is also so nice to be able to call her office and get an appointment within a week - I can also call her directly on her cell phone to speak with her when I have a question and she usually answers the first time I call! If she isn't able to pick up she calls me back very quickly. The same goes for her office manager Charley. I also communicate with them via e-mail type messages in a medical portal. I like having one doctor who deals with all of my health issues (of course referring me to specialists as needed) and who sees me and treats me as a whole being and not just a foot, thyroid, shoulder, etc.(the functional medicine philosophy). Another reason I signed up for Dr. Motyka's concierge services was that I love her radio show "Ask Dr. Dawn". I really appreciate her science-based medical advice that she brings into down-home remedies that work! It feels to me like I am taking an on-going health class with the radio show being the lectures! As with any doctor, I need to come prepared with my questions and a summary of my needs and history since she can sometimes get mixed up about my history or my treatment. However, I really feel that she cares about me and my family and gives us personalized treatment.
