My experience with him over several years is that he is unavailable in urgent situations and that despite his affable demeanor he is lacking when it comes to being sensitive to pain issues. Specifically, his office hours are Monday to Thursday (Friday is for surgery and he is unavailable but the office is open) and when I have called in pain from a repeated ingrown toenail I have had to wait at least a week and sometimes longer. He has no one covering for him on off hours or his vacations. My ingrown toenail was chronic and when I repeatedly inquired what may be done other than cutting out the problem over and over again, he said each time that there was no other option. In addition, he rarely used anything to numb the pain and when he did it was not done well. The last time he was unavailable I consulted another podiatrist and I learned that there is a procedure I could have (a partial nail avulsion and chemical matrixectomy) that would likely fix the situation. Also, there was no need for any part of the process to be painful. read more
