My wife and in-laws love her no-nonsense style and referred me to her after using her for years. Normally I would feel uncomfortable with a female doctor, but it's something about that Old World charm when you turn your head and cough that let's you know it's all business. Everything is over and done with quick so you're not left waiting. Doctor appointments seem to be quicker here than any other doctor, and that's good when you're nervous about all the people around you coughing out the Black Plague. A couple years back I had a problem with waking up with sinus pressure and I thought I was allergies, but I would take allergy medicine and it would barely help. Now I'm barely ever sick, so I was clueless and asked her if she knew anything I can do. She prescribed me this nasal spray, I only use it about twice a month but I wake up with the sinus pressure a lot less now. She's a miracle worker!

I have a little bit of "doctor phobia" and both the staff & the doctor are super kind & understanding. I rarely have to wait past my appointment time and am often seen a few minutes early. Exams have been comprehensive and Dr. Brand is thorough in explaining things & answering questions. What really sets him apart, IMO, is the personal touch. The day after my appointments, I get a call from him to personally review my results. Just last week, I had my first mammogram (yay for turning 40...) and I had a call with the results just THREE hours later. Does your doctor do this? If the answer is "no" you might want to ask, "why not?"

The Urgent Care on Edgerton was open until 8:00 PM, and we rushed over. The facility was clean and professional. My wait was negligible. A nurse took my vitals and politely asked me to wait for a physician. Dr. Chaudhry spoke to me with understanding and expertise. His bed side manner was reassuring. The EKG was normal and multiple blood pressure readings were taken. Fortunately, my Systolic pressure dropped from 190/101 to 160/82. Dr. Chaudhry continued to monitor my progress and finally sent me home. I felt 100% better. This is the only Urgent Care to use if you live south of Shorewood.

Please, let this old man have a modicum of dignity, even if, or especially if, I'm coming in here for something uncomfortable. The biggest problem is Aurora's pecuniary greed. You'll be treated fine if you've got the right insurance, but they want to make very sure you do have insurance. Then after your visit, If your insurance doesn't cough up their share with adequate alacrity, or if you wait a couple of weeks to pay your share, you'll be sold to a collection agency faster than falcon diving on prey.

The staff at St Lukes took such great care of me the anti-anxiety meds were unnecessary. Ensconced in Room C3102A, the aides, Michele and Alexis, and the nurses Shanon, Michelle, Margaret, etc, were empathetic, caring, and knowledgable, able to listen and comprehend what I needed. I'm difficult! The last time I spent an overnight in a hospital was in 1959! I am used to VIP treatment, and I am often a dilettante. However, my arrogance was diffused by the sincerity of my caregivers at St. Lukes Hospital. I'm home recuperating, but I will never forget the kindness and care shown to me by the overworked and underappreciated staff. You are all amazing.

Second, my experiences, while not unique to Aurora, reflect on the efficiency models used throughout US medical systems. Each week I get several automated requests to check in to the same appointments. While this requires no more than five minutes of my time, it is very redundant, particularly when I am often asked for the same information when I get to an appointment. The result may be greater accuracy in billing, but I seriously doubt it improves care Further, twice I've been given a pile of papers to complete while waiting, only to have them ignored by the provider. Finally, the only apparent people with which issues can be addressed are nurses and MAs who are similarly frustrated by these issues. In the end, it's not about health or care, and the system is not about people.

I don't think half of the people working back. There are even certified. The physician his self was an OK doctor, but it seemed like he was in a rush he didn't know my husband, and it was his first time with him, but he didn't ask many questions. He just prescribed him a whole bunch of medication's. We wanted to be heard, instead of throwing all these drugs at. Then on the way out, we had to make a follow up appointment and again with the same two little girls. Was not a good experience then as well. It is just very unprofessional here. However, the pharmacy in that building is pretty quick pretty fast and the girls at the register are nicer. I will say the only thing smooth about that visit was receiving our medication's at the pharmacy. We wanted to get out of there right away. I feel like this clinic is not going to be here long.
