Marion, the receptionist, is super nice! I give a big thanks to Miguel for listening and getting it right and for getting me in right-away. Miguel is top talent! I came in with an infected tooth that I had intended to have removed and then bone grafted, then an implant done and then finally in the crowning moment, have a zirconia crown (made in-house) installed! Without my expressing any of my aforementioned intentions, Jennifer intuitively knew exactly what needed to be done and she went right to work on it without missing a beat. She thoroughly and comprehensively completed all of the procedures that the doctor would need done, in order for him to have the right information. Everything Jennifer did was in-line with my intentions. Bravo. A big thanks to Jennifer! Marjan definitely deserves a big thanks too. She set everything up like the top pro that she is. She carefully explained all the insurance and billing to me and set up all the dates related to the full completion of this procedure over time. It was a lot, but Marjan made it easy for me. She also went over all the details of every procedure, so that I now know exactly what to expect. She also handled some of the other small details that will make my next appointment go smoothly. With Marjan there are no surprises, because everything is set up right. Marjan's full disclosure, meticulous planning, keen attention to detail and superb rapport with the doctor, are real assets that make this practice really shine! Dr. Garofalo is an absolute and he is absolutely at the height of his field. He is an anomaly in a sea of non-anomalies. His skill, bedside manner and knowledge as an oral surgeon and dentist is unsurpassed. Top of the top apex pinnacle. Dr. Garofalo is leader and visionary who is far ahead of his contemporaries in imagining whats next in the field of dentistry and then making it happen. The reality is, is that the Dentistry Collective is the absolute best! It should be noted that this beautiful brand new, state of the art, full service dental facility, with the finest equipment possible, makes it able to accommodate a wide spectrum of procedures and patients, all done in-house during appointments. I especially love the stunning blue velvet chairs in the wonderfully furnished waiting area/lounge. The view of Webb Lake is nice too. The Dentistry Collective is a real gem, located right in the heart of Rancho Bernardo! Check out the photos, you will be amazed! Veterans are very much appreciated here. OORah! I enthusiastically encourage all who read this, to make the Dentistry Collective their new practice! I give my absolute top recommendations! Thanks! VR "JJ"

It has been a hard time finding a dentist since then that has made me feel comfortable. Bernardo Heights and Dr Park has been fabulous in making me feel as comfortable and as welcome as possible. I spoke up about pain I experienced when a previous dentist flossed a particular tooth and they were very considerate and mindful to my concerns. I have since moved a bit further away since I started going to this dentist and I will continue to drive the distance because I feel so positively about the experience I had at Bernardo Heights Dental Group. Everyone at reception is incredibly welcoming and helpful and really sets up for a good visit. The dental assistants are quick and efficient but still take time to make sure you're doing okay and checking in with you. This helped ease a lot of the nerves I had. With previous dentists, it would be so bothersome when you are shamed for maybe not flossing as much as you should or something else. I have only ever felt encouraged and supported regarding my dental habits which has kept me coming back.

The first time I went to Bernardo Heights Dental Group and Orthodontics was to have a dental…read morecleaning and to see a dentist for 2 cavities. Once I got there they told me that the hygienist will not be able to perform the dental cleaning so I only saw the dentist Dr Park after having had a huge number of X-Rays taken. Dr Park entered the room and only looked at the X-rays and told me that I needed 2 crowns and that was it. She did not perform any comprehensive exam, never even looked at the inside of my mouth but my insurance was charged for that. They also billed my insurance for an oral fitness check $129 by having me spit into a recipient. They never reviewed the results of that test with me, they simply emailed them to me without any explanation on what needs to be done. Then the person in charge of billing came to the room and handed me a very detailed estimate for the future crowns' work. On my way out the staff scheduled me with Dr Kamran for the future crowns. The second time I went to Bernardo Heights Dental Group I had been scheduled to see Dr Kamran at 11:00am. I got there on time but Dr Kamran was a no show until almost noon. While waiting for Dr Kamran to arrive I sat in an exam room with his assistant who prepped me for the upcoming procedure by making molds of the 2 teeth needing crowns. When Dr Kamran arrived I was laying in the chair with the back of my head facing the entrance of the room so I did not see him enter and he introduced himself without facing me while talking with his assistant. The thing is that I have a hearing disability and I had no idea what he was saying. He then sat down by my side and asked me to open my mouth and gave me instructions on how to inform him that I was in pain ( by raising one hand) he then proceeded to grinding both my teeth. While doing so he obviously hit a nerve and I reacted by raising both hands and his reaction to my doing so is what surprised me the most. Instead of understanding the amount of pain I was in I was being reprimanded for potentially causing him to injure me by hitting his hand holding the tool. In all my years of having dental work done never have I ever seen a dentist get upset! The entire grinding was very uncomfortable, the tube meant to aspirate while the grinding was in progress was constantly being pressed against a soft area of my mouth and it was causing me pain. Despite my numerous attempts to make both the dentist and his assistant sensitive to the painful discomfort I was experiencing nothing was done about it, it seemed that time was of the essence and that I had to let the dentist do his job as quickly as possible without complaining. Then the dentist left the room without talking to me and to my big surprise his assistant was in charge of designing the crowns on the computer. It is then that I found out that the crowns are made in-house and that within a couple of hours they will be ready to be installed. Weeks earlier when I was given that very elaborate estimate for the 2 crowns I had not been told any of that. Once the assistant was done with designing the crowns around 1:00pm i was asked to return to the dental practice at 2:30pm for the installation. I returned to the practice at 2:30pm and waited in the waiting room until about 3:40pm for someone to take me to an exam room. The assistant in charge of trying and adjusting the crowns before being cemented was Keith. He was knowledgeable and very informative about his craft. Then Dr Kamran arrived and again it became all about rushing, he put the cement and then strongly and firmly pressed on my head and my upper molar, a method I had never seen before and I've had 5 crowns already installed the previous years by my former fabulous dentist who retired. While placing my upper crown some of the cement leaked and dried on the molar and Dr Kamran had to resort to the infamous grinding tool to remove the excess. In doing so, I was hurting and he was getting impatient about finishing his work and tired of me being in pain. To make a long story short I went home with particles of cement still stuck to both upper and lower crowns and it is a very unpleasant feeling when your tongue runs through that. After this incomprehensible experience i had pain in the right side of my jaw and in my right ear for about 3 weeks. The best way to describe this dentist is to compare him to a construction worker with a jackhammer, the only difference is that one has a medical degree and can cause more harm than good by prioritizing his time instead of the well-being of his patients.
