My experience could be summed up by the saying "To a hammer, everything looks like a nail". I was having some heel pain and it was in the same leg that I had months earlier experienced calf issues. Before I could even describe my symptoms, he took one look at my shoes and said, "Yuck." That pretty much set the tone for the entire appointment. Despite explaining my symptoms in detail--and even noting how these shoes had previously helped resolve my IT band issues--he remained completely fixated on the shoes. No diagnosis. No explanation of how my shoes could be causing the problem. No explanation of mechanism or if it was connected to calf issues. No discussion of alternative causes or treatments. Just a repeated insistence that I get new shoes. He told me to come back in a week, presumably not to follow up on my symptoms, but to inspect whether I'd swapped out my footwear. Maybe he was right. But he was an awful communicator and gave me no reason to trust his judgment. For what it's worth, I didn't change my shoes--and the pain resolved on its own within a couple weeks. read more

I highly recommend Dr Bank for anyone in the greater L.A. area. Getting orthotics from him helped to take care of my back pain. I was in for a plantar wart treatment removal and I opted for the injection Got to tell you nothing done on your foot that has to do with injections or procedures can be comfortable But that's not doctors problem On his end he was able to treat and removed wart Takes about two weeks at least in my case But treatment was successful And as for Dr Dan He is Great and really knows what he is doing Very happy with results read more

So I was at Kerlin and jobe for the start of my treatment for plantar fasciitis. After 4 months with them and no healing I switched to Dr. Bank. Dr. Bank said, "I'll fix your foot." I did not have a good experience. And the staff seemed to less courteous. Dr. Bank wanted to fit me right away with a $600 custom ortho insoles for my plantar problem. This to me seemed excessive and commercial. I fixed my own problem doing little research and under $50. I have been looking for the right podiatrist to take care of my ugly feet. I chose Dr Banks because of the great reviews I read. On my appointment date, the office was very busy. I was taken to the room and there I waited for almost an hour. I knew he was falling behind and so I patiently waited my turn. When Dr Banks finally saw me, we addressed my foot concerns. During the time I explained my issues, he kept looking at his watch. My consult took no more than 10 minutes. I left feeling angry, but most of all disappointed. I gave him the respect by waiting without any complaints. But when it was my turn, he didn't give the time of day. He showed me that I wasn't his only patient, and that he was anxious to move on to the next one. He made me feel unimportant. And when a doctor makes you feel that way, it's time to move on to another. There are many DPMs out there. read more

I left a message about Dr. Bank a few years ago and, unfortunately, I do not see it here on YELP. I initially saw Dr. Bank in 2014 when I had a severe tib/fib sprain. I went to three other doctors who pretty much brushed me off. With no relief for the pain, the major swelling & bruising and inability to walk, I went to Dr. Bank because he was in my network. I told him of my past appointments with other doctors and he ordered an MRI. He was the first doctor to actually listen to what I was going through. Long story short, my situation could have led to a surgery but Dr. Bank would not do it unless it was a last resort. I have to say I appreciate the fact that he did not want to do surgery if he could avoid it, which he did. I very recently saw Dr. Bank after enduring an ingrown toenail for about 8 months. I made my appointment on July 3 (right before my vacation) to have it looked at. I was dreading the procedure as much as I would having a root canal because I have heard so many horror stories about getting this removed. Dr. Bank made this procedure so easy!! The procedure was not as bad as I thought it would be. The first 24-hours was obviously uncomfortable but not unbearable. I was able to walk out of his office, run errands, and wear closed-toed shoes in a 48-hour period so I was very surprised of the quick recovery. I am now four days out from the procedure and am following his instructions for aftercare and I cannot be happier. I should have done this months ago. I would highly recommend Dr. Bank for any type of podiatry issues that anyone may have. I am a klutz deluxe so have been to several podiatrists in my lifetime. I saw Dr. Banks about a year ago... ...I complained about heal and Ankle pain...... I was diagnosed with PF from my GP and my own self-diagnosis and Dr. Banks confirmed I had PF.... After doing everything by the book, nothing fixed my PF and my only alternative was surgery. I kept complaining about ankle pain and was brushed off even after stating I think it all started with a twisted Ankle. My PF pain was getting better but it never went away... I knew I had another issue but Dr. Banks only alternative was PF surgery which to me was still iffy... There is no grantee it would fix my foot issues so I went for a 2nd opinion... At that point, I was not convinced any surgery would fix me completely so I continued to deal with the pain............ I went for 3rd and 4th opinion and it was the last doctor who actually listened. He touched my ankle in a few places, I jumped and he sent me out for a 3.0 MRI....Well low and behold that MRI discovered why I have ankle pain! On top of that, the whole time I was being treated, I was doing stretches and going to therapy and wonder how much worse my ankle is due to all the extra things I was told to do to help my PF... Anyway, I am not a fan of Doctors who do not listen to their patients and at this time, thinking what my next move will be... I clearly was not 100% diagnosed by Dr. Banks and if I had been diagnosed correctly, I may not have as much damage as I have today. read more

Dr. Bank was able to find the solution and was upfront and detailed with the level of care and plan to get me walking again with no pain. He has great patience, knowledge and outstanding bedside manner. He took great care of me and corrected another doctor's mistake. Dr Bank performed a bunionectomy, along with four other corrections, all on the same foot in just one surgery. The procedure was in early January and I was running again by mid March. This is a long over due review. Dr. Bank has been our family podiatrist for over 15 years. He has helped my husband with all of his foot aches and pains with plantar fasciitis. Dr Bank made him some amazing custom orthotics that he can't go a day without. Which makes a huge difference in my husbands life due to him working two jobs.He once's removed a foreign body from his shin in his office , it was biopsied and it thankfully was benign. He also took care of two ingrown toe nails. The procedure was quick, easy and painless. Dr. Bank has such a great way of listening to our concerns and he explains things in a manner that we understand so that we are all on the same page. He treated me for plantar fasciitis, he gave me a cortisone injection. And fitted me for custom orthotics. A week later my foot was about 70% pain free only from injection. Once I got my custom orthotics I was 100% pain free and back at the gym. Dr. Bank then treated my six year old son recently. He got bit by a spider on three different occasions. And he helped drain the water pockets that formed from my sons allergic reaction. He was funny and friendly. And my son got very comfortable with him. Which is always a plus. Overall Dr. Bank and his staff are always very friendly. They try they're best to always accommodate us. I love that they are a bilingual office. The atmosphere is always nice and relaxed. Our wait time has always been fast. And even if we had to wait to see the Dr. it definitely is worth the wait time to see him. Misdiagnosed me in May 2018 and just found out in the past month that I have a fracture in my foot that he completely missed. Treated me like a inferior patient and commented on me not being "well-off." My first time to go to a podiatrist. The search was stressful bec you'll see mixed reviews. Consulted w my insurance and I came up with a short list. Finally chose Dr.Bank. Talked to someone in his office to set initial appointment, basic stuff. On the day, Dr Bank gave me a no BS analysis of probable causes and fix hoping it will be a simple one so that's going to be the first approach and I was ok with it because all was explained well. On day of procedure, problem was handled and I was on the expected 2 weeks healing. He simply fixed the problem and he didn't take advantage of my issue so money wise, it was well spent. Having my dad recommend him was the best Christmas gift I could get. I have been dealing with extremely bad plantars and the last steroid shot I got from a diff. doctor traumatized me. This is an update because I cannot express enough my gratitude for Dr. Banks. He is one of the best podiatrists I have ever been to. Unfortunately, I had obtained a new job and I was no longer covered by Dr. Banks forcing me to see another podiatrist. I ended up having foot surgery which has resulted in complications. The podiatrist who did my surgery wasnt sure what was going on, and pretty much said let's just wait and hope you get better. I ended up seeing another in network podiatrist who basically gave me the same advice. In tremendous pain and feeling hopeless I decided to schedule an appointment with Dr. Banks. I am having to pay out of pocket until my new insurance plan kicks in, but seeing Dr Banks was the best decision I could have made. Dr. Banks throughly listened to me, examined my foot, and came up with a comprehensive treatment plan that I hope will fix my complications. After weeks of crying, I now have hope of walking normally without pain again. I feel truly grateful to Dr. Banks.
