Although it's called The Stage Shop…read moreit really caters mostly for dancers; and young dancers doing jazz or ballet class, so even though they do have a great range of things, they are not so much about acting as they are about dancing. This is important because there are other places in town actors should go if they are looking for materials such as makeup, fake blood etc. Not having said tat, I do not mean to undermine the value of The Stage Shop because they have all the ballet shoes, jazz shoes, unitard, headbands, dare I say legwarmers and other things like hair nest, the substance of a hair bun... I'm not sure what you call those things that help make a perfect hair bun but it's like a donut made of a spongy type of material and it works every time. They certainly are helpful, and they can tell you some great stories and name just about every great ballet class or school around the city and metropolitan region, so if you have a youngster looking to extend their strength and abilities by taking a dance class, or indeed if you have a dancer in the family, this is a shop where you will find pretty much everything they would want or need when it comes to dance.

One of the worst business names I've ever heard. Ok, so that was a bit petty. Moving on. This big costume store on Port Road is just fine. If I were putting on a play, performing at a fair or going to an especially pushy friend's dress-up party, I'd stop by here. Their halloween options are pretty damn good - October was the last time I popped in, although I have to admit I am a bit more of a make-your-own-costume type, so I was browsing for ideas really. The prices weren't ridiculous, they even seemed a bit cheaper than the costume store behind the Central Markets in town - perhaps the rent is less out here. Most of the costumes seemed in relatively good condition too, which is a big factor when sealing the deal on a hire.

Is the market for costumes really that big? The second question is why there are so many "adult" stores in Adelaide, and I get the feeling that the two phenomena are related, which makes me wonder why there aren't more dry cleaning stores. I have been in here, once. Like Chloe, I think the name is spectacularly awful. But the stuff they've got inside is pretty cool and well worth a look. The rental prices are pretty low, too. I don't know what Adelaide prices are like when it comes to costumes, but this place is certainly lower than every place in Melbourne that I've checked (which is about two, but still..). The people are pretty nice and helpful when you're looking or even just brainstorming some ideas.

I had wrongly assumed it was a speciality (read: expensive) shoe store with a limited range. Boy, was I wrong. It was stocked to the ceiling with many shoes on sale, but what I really appreciated was the service from the husband and wife team. I walked on a treadmill while my feet were video'd on an ipad and then we watched how my foot rolled/moved in slow motion and what options that meant for my feet. Over the years I've bought shoes online (guessing a suitable model) and also shopped at the warehouse style shops in the city where the poor staff are trying to serve five people at once. Having just spent a few hundred dollars at the physio with an injury she believes might have been caused by the wrong running shoes, I am glad I went to this place. I'm happy to report I've discovered I don't have to pay any more for great service and range and having been signed up as VIPS (a free membership) for an extra 10% discount, we'll definitely be back.

Pricing is a tad high but still around Recommended Retail Price or a bit less. Assistance from the staff though is always good and they offer good explanations behind the products to help you find exactly what you are looking for. I bought a pair of sneakers from here and they have lasted very well. The store person was able to suggest a pair based on my podiatrists recommendations and find my size within just a matter of seconds (something that generally takes a while at other stores).

Also, he measured my shoe size, I thought I was 8.5, but no, I'm a 10, deplorable I do not have little lady like feet in the slightest which I pointed out to my salesman and he replied "it's because you're tall" what a gem. Huge range of products, lots of fitness wear I would kill to have in my wardrobe, or I could pay for them. I don't feel uneasy in here because it's so big, you get to have a browse before any sales assistants pounce on you which is great because I hate being asked if I need help before I even know if I need any help. Being drafted into the NBA, holding an official Spalding NBA basketball, wearing an NBA jersey, heavy barbells to use at home, soccer ball, tennis rackets, and a volleyball. ...2 out of 7 which I could obtain at AMART ALL SPORTS. Oh well. Guess not all dreams come true. I just wished there were more American sports clothing on the racks. I remember when I went to America, their sports stores were the most beautiful I've ever seen, because they had so many different NBA players and NBA team jerseys that I was lifted up to heaven. In AMART, I don't think my eyes found any, maybe it's hidden on the far wall. The creepiest part was my horoscope that day said that I would be somewhere that involved sports. At arguably the best sports store in Adelaide, you'll find a lot of everything any active sports athlete needs in his/her life. From workout clothing and big balls, this is the perfect place to stop in for a gift, whether it be for you or someone else! Last time I was here I bought 1.5kg barbells for my elderly Father last Xmas, which he appreciated.

The store in Tea Tree Plaza does a huge range of sporting shoes, along with sporting apparel and other equipment. When I spotted the store, I was hopeful of finding some sporting wear that isn't ridiculously priced. I was disappointed. They stock a smaller range than places like Rebel, and the prices are the same. I never have and never intend to spend $70 on a pair of running shorts. They have a different stock of brands than the large chains do, which is why I hoped they might be more reasonably priced. Apparently these obscure manufacturers want the same income as brands like Adidas and Nike. Their shoes are marked at a standard price. The benefit of coming here is to get prompt and good service. The store doesn't get busy like Rebel, and you're more likely to get a staff member who knows their stuff, since there's only one to choose from.
