I have been searching for the right doctor for a while and I finally found her. She listens, ask great questions, spends time and goes the extra mile. I pray I don't have to change insurance and lose her. read more

Dr Petrus is a HORRIBLE provider. She does not allow family, even caregivers, to go back with the patient. Additionally, she gives ultimatums, pushes antidepressants, and when I called the office to see if I should come in due to a medical issue she said I would be "fine" until my nearest appt (6 days out). I ended up being transported to the hospital that night against her advice. no recommend!!! read more

I do recommend Dr Petrus. She has been my Dr for over 10 years now. She shows great concern for her patients, is very direct, and will always get to the root of the problem, regardless of how many referrals she needs to do so. read more

Dr. Petrus addresses medical needs promptly. Staff friendly. Clean facility. Cares for her patients.

it is sad to hear that nothing has changed. This doctor having a personal issue with piercings and tattoos is beyond unprofessional. As many other reviews will tell you, she is always late, will berate her staff and yell, and be dismissive towards you. She will prescribe you medication's and labs with no rhyme or reason. And will make you uncomfortable and make you feel less than. I hope everyone will steer clear of this doctor. read more

Dr. Petrus is rude amd dismissive. This was my 1st time with her, and she didn't listen to anything I said. Her office staff screwed up the paperwork and now I have to go back to my old primary and start over. It should be called Dr. BULLSHIT read more

Petrus, if you're reading this, I want you to know if I could give you zero stars, I would. You are abusive, negligent, and according to these reviews very selective of who gets the best and worst from you. If you keep on like this, one day you will get someone very hurt or worse. You have shown zero empathy for others. Your insincerity is almost palpable. I've been sitting on this for a while now and it took me a lot of therapy to get to where I feel strong enough to say what needs to be said. If I can help even one other person avoid this kind of absurd mistreatment, it will be well worth it. You seem to be only interested in easy, quick-fix patients or patients who will blindly pop whatever pills you send their way. I am neither, and you were made well aware of this from the get-go. If my care was too much to handle, you should have said so. Would've been the most helpful thing you ever did for me. I went to her practice years ago and stopped because I didn't feel we were the right fit & didn't like how she treated her staff (you could hear her screaming abusive tantrum-like language at them from the exam room-- ew) but after quite some time (8+ years) I hoped things had improved. I'd been through some traumatic events at the hands of some male Dr's & I'm wary of men in general. Dr's sometimes need to get pretty personal & it was slim pickings with my insurance. So back to Petrus I go. Thankfully at least it seemed she had stopped abusing her new staff, at least as far as I could tell. I hope so. She was assigned back to me after I ended up in the hospital due to some heart problems I was having. She started giving me Rx's for anxiety & depression that I explicitly said I didn't want and she sent them anyway. Multiple. Lexapro, Zoloft, and at least one other that I can't recall the name of, but it was a medication I'm not familiar with at all that also had pretty sketch side effects. This was all prescribed at the same time, all at once. Regardless of my other meds, a simple google search could tell you that mixing Lexapro and Zoloft is not the move. Let alone a third medication. Thankfully we knew the pharmacy it was sent to; the staff was kind & made sure I was aware of the dangers this medication could pose to me, especially given my other meds. The pharmacist even said she's shocked a doctor would prescribe these meds to me at the same time. She didn't even feel ok with filling them all. She could NOT stress the risks enough & recommended I get a 2nd opinion from a psychologist. Which I asked for, & instead got more Lexapro and no referral. She asks during the next phone appt how the meds are going. I tell her I haven't taken them. She asks "why not." I can hear her agitation which makes me uneasy, so I proceed with extreme caution & explain again I had been on this medication before & had alarming side effects. She interrupts me as I'm nervously explaining this to literally YELL at me (super professional. Love that) with "THAT'S NOT TRUE! YOU'RE LYING! YOU JUST--" And she continued screaming at me but at that point cptsd took the wheel & my brain hit the mute button. I started shaking & focused on staying calm. I could feel my eyes burning and face heating up like I was fixing to cry. My babe heard her yelling at me over the food he was frying on the stove, the swamp cooler blasting between us, and me holding the phone to my ear. She was yelling that loudly. At one point I even asked her why she was treating me like this. I cried for a while. my husband sat there like the good, supportive person he is and reassured me I was okay & that I'm not going back to her if I don't want to. Which, obviously, I didn't. And don't even get me started on getting her to fill out paperwork. Petrus, I don't know what kind of day you had or what burden you were carrying with you that made you explode like that, but I didn't deserve that. Nobody does. I've met some real pieces of work in the medical industry, but thankfully at least now I can say I've met some top notch physicians as well. Dana Petrus is not one of them. But I'm sure Big Pharma adores her, & at the end of the day that's what REALLY matters, right? Chase that coin, sis. read more

Dr Petrus has been the primary care physician for our family for over 10 years and although my primary residence has moved to another state she is the only doctor I trust with our care. As such, we schedule visits to California to see her specifically. She always is very thorough and has referred us to specialists as necessary. She is patient, kind, and genuinely cares for her patients. After hours when I have called it's often her and not an exchange that picks up the call. We trust her with our care and honestly, can not imagine being under the care of another doctor. Wonderful and knowledgeable physician. Highly recommended. read more

Unprofessional and inept office staff!! After multiple phone calls over the last few weeks I have made zero progress. Today I made my fifth and final call to the office. Speaking to Jasmine (again) I find that I am still at Square One, having to repeat the same conversation I have had over the previous 4 phone calls. After voicing my frustration, Jasmine abruptly said she would cancel my upcoming appointment and hung up on me. read more

I am really happy being a patient with Dr. Dana Petrus. She is very thoughtful and care about your well being. You can share anything with her without her being judgmental like my last Doctor. Dr. Petrus has been my Dr. for a very long time. She is direct and to the point but she never rushes me and always makes sure I understand the medicine or the next step. She always takes her time with me and helps me understand. She is a good Dr. I highly recommend. read more

This doctor is terribly rude and is a very big bully to those who don't have the same opinion as her

Never ever had such trouble scheduling an appointment as a new patient, not only do you have to pick up new patient forms in person prior to being able to make an appointment but once you pick up the forms you have to make another trip to drop it off to then finally be able to make an appointment....ridiculous and rude staff read more

After this quack ignored the health of both my sister and dad, I've had it. Doesn't trust or seem to even care for her patients. She apparently expects you to come in with a plan of care, because if you don't explicitly ask for a referral, an MRI, etc, you are not getting one. It doesn't occur to her that perhaps you might need further workup. If the answer doesn't seem apparent to her, welp, you're just gonna have to learn to live with the symptoms and you don't really need a diagnosis, treatment, a specialist opinion, nothing. (?!) You'll just get accused of being a pill popper when you are concerned about new and intense pain. And when you end up in the hospital three days later as a result of her negligence, be ready for her to come there and 1) contest everything the ER says and say outlandish things like "they wrote down the wrong diagnosis," 2) accusing you, the sick patient, of lying to her and 3) beliggerently arguing away any misdiagnosis or liability on her part with your obviously concerned family. "Dr." Petrus, you are in the wrong profession. You will not hurt my family again. I hope this review helps others to keep their families far, far away from you. read more

She's always late, but I am willing to wait to see her. She is the best doctor I've been to. She has always listened to my concerns and she hasn't been pushy with anything, meds or otherwise. She has never been rude or unprofessional. She has ordered labs, imaging, and given referrals to me if it was needed. She figured out I had hypoglycemia when 2 other doctors had told me allergies caused me to pass out. I'm glad I found her. I also have tattoos and piercings and she's never even alluded to hepatitis. read more

Save yourself the grief!! The doctor and the staff are rude and argumentative. I was surprised at how bad her bedside manner is. She said my husband offended her but was really just tried to ask some questions about his medical condition. She doesn't want you to ask questions and if you do you'll offend her. We don't want her kind of care so we switched doctors. We've been waiting for his records to be transferred there but it's been a month and we're still waiting. We've asked, the new doctors offices asked...no such luck. Legally they only have 15 days and we have now filed a formal complaint with the medical board. It's ridiculous and disappointing! Zero professionalism! read more

I have been going to Dr. Petrus for over 15 years. Her wait times can be unusually long, but I have never found her to be rushed during our visits. She is very thorough, to a fault at times for my preference. She remembers details about my personal life and family that I find commendable. Same day/week appts. are almost impossible to schedule. I truly believe she has my best interests as her priority, even when I don't have my best interests at that same level. She has a high turnover of staff. read more

PLEASE LISTEN....... The staff seem nice at first, wrong!!!!! they are incompetent --- they neglected to send the proper information to my insurance and left us holding the bill for LAB WORK the doctor requested. Call after call ... on hold, leaving messages, we could no longer go in for blood work with Lab Corp because they would not fax a single form - that's right- 1 page to my insurance so they could pay it. And we ended up in COLLECTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! my husband had to storm into the office and demand the copy to send it in now. these people are messing with people's health and well being by pure and simple laziness or negligence. Dr Petrus will prescribe meds, she will barely listen to you ... doesn't really listen and is rude, I understand she is from a different country, but acting like you are not listening doesn't help a patient. very insensitive. read more

The healthcare system is broken. I'm sure anyone reading this review is already aware of that. I recently changed jobs and had to choose a doctor with my new insurance. I chose Dr. Dana and hoped for the best. I have had 2 appointments so far and feel qualified to assess this practitioner. First of all, don't expect a smile or friendly greeting when you enter the reception area. You will find an opaque window that will be closed when you enter and a clipboard for you to sign in. As a new patient I was first greeted after about 5 minutes of waiting (there was no one else in the waiting room) by the office manager who had a mouthful of food and was waving papers for me to fill out. Not exactly a good first impression. It gets worse. I asked if those were for me and she replied "Yeah, you're new right?", as bits of breakfast burrito cascaded down her chin. I took the papers and said "Thank you, it's rude to talk with your mouthful." and she flipped her pen down on the counter and slammed the opaque window closed again. The very first page in the 10 page packet I was given was a waiver of my rights to file a malpractice suit against Dr. Dana. I was almost ready to leave at that point, but thought I should at least see the doctor. I found Dr. Dana to be much more thorough than other practitioners I have experienced. She listened to my health concerns and came up with options for treatment in a most professional manner. She had me make a follow up appointment and I left thinking that Dr. Dana may just have a difficult time firing office managers that are ineffective at their job and deserves to have patient patients such as myself. At my follow up appointment she asked me why I was there, which I thought was odd. "You told me to come back for a follow up" I replied. She said for me to continue the treatment that had been prescribed and acted like it was my idea to pay another copayment and see her again. When it comes to healthcare, I have grown accustomed to take the good with the bad. In this case, the bad is a poor office manager and a slightly forgetful practitioner. read more

So far so good...first appointment was today..staff was friendly unlike other reviews I read on here so maybe things have changed?...she placed my consult while I was in the room with her and made my follow up appointment with her at the same time. I think some people confused her Romanian persona as rude but I like her style as she was very direct....I will update this if the quality of care declines... read more

I saw Dana Petrus for shingles which is a long-term, can be up to a year recovery. She prescribed one round of medicine & dismissed me to a pain management doctor stating my shingles were resolved. She never gave me a follow up appt to verify my condition before referring me out. I went from walking to using a cane & finally I am in a wheelchair. She lacked concern & compassion for me. She is only interested in the insurance payments. Her telephone system & staff are also in need of replacement. Most unqualified & unprofessional doctor & staff I've ever met. I retired from the medical industry with over 25+ years experience. read more

Unprofessional, surly, untrustworthy, crappy bedside manner, & defensive/argumentative over pointless things. Example: I asked why she suddenly and without warning lowered my blood pressure medication dosage from what she'd been prescribing (same meds just half the dose). She kept insisting she didn't even though I have the previous bottle! When I follow her instructions she insists she didn't tell me that at all. After this comment I'll contact my insurance company to find another doctor and will be sure to let them know why. read more

Petrus is one of the worst doctors I have ever been to. She is so sloppy with her work and her patients, and her employees are even worse. So rude. I have waited just in the waiting room for 2 hours. Just 2 hours in the waiting room alone. And then I sat for another 30 minutes in the exam room. When she FINALLY came in she didn't apologize or say anything about being late. She has always been so rude to my mom and I, I can't stand this woman. Do not go see her for anything. Whenever I call, it takes me calling about 4 times over a period of 4 days for them to do anything. I wish I could give her less than 1 star. She has called for me to do so many unnecessary appointments and prescriptions. Poor judgement, poor hospitality, everything. read more

I love her. First appointment: She was very thorough. She asked me questions pertaining to why I was seeing her. She answered all my questions. She did not rush me out of the appointment like many other doctors tend to do. She also noticed that I had a really bad acne breakout and sent a prescription to where I pick up all my other medications. I wasn't even there for that but I really liked that she took a concern. I love the fact that she makes her own appointments right there in the room. I was given a print out of all my vitals that were taken by the nurses assistants, why I was seen, what the doctor visually saw on my body like tattoos and the acne, all the medication I am taking already plus the ones she prescribed to me, AND when my next appointment is. She also took the time to revise the paperwork with me. Second appointment: I had a panic attack right before my appointment in the parking lot. I was really worried about my test results. The worst was running through my mind. When I got called in to have my vitals taken, I was treated gently by my nurse. She asked if I was alright, if I needed water or anything. I just told her I was scared and not to worry that it would pass. Dr. Petrus came in soon after. She also treated me very nicely and asked what was wrong with concern, also let me know that I could reschedule with no problem. I let her know that I was scared. She was calm and patient with me, and that really helped me a lot. She let me know that all my tests were normal, that I had nothing to worry about. She gave me referrals to specialists that I needed to see for further testing, and again gave me a summary of my visit. She asked me again if I was alright. Needless to say, she is the Doctor who I will go to from now on. read more

I went to Dr. Petrus for treatment for high blood pressure, and followed her recommendations exactly. On my first follow-up appointment, my blood pressure had soared to a dangerous level. Needless to say, I switched physicians and reported her to both my insurance company and an outside medical monitoring board. The office visit itself was a pleasant experience. Dr. Petrus, the medical assistant, and the receptionist were friendly and I didn't feel rushed or unwanted, which was rather nice. It was everything after the visit that could have been better. Dr. Petrus' office was supposed to fax a medical clearance to my surgeon and I had no idea it wasn't sent until the surgeon's assistant called me to tell me they were still waiting for it, which by that time was 2 weeks after my exam with Petrus. I spoke with Petrus' receptionist, which she told me she had tried to fax over the medical clearance, but wasn't getting through to their fax machine (she couldn't inform me of this 2 weeks ago?). I asked the receptionist to fax it and to please call the surgeon's office when she does to confirm and she didn't want to. She just wanted to try faxing it again and I had to explain to her if she called the surgeon's office, they could see where the problem is if the fax still doesn't go through. I got a call from the surgeon's office confirming they received the fax and that the receptionist had quite the attitude with them. I called Petrus' office back to thank the receptionist then she complained to me that the surgeon's assistant was getting snippy with her. Judging from the receptionist's attitude, I'm pretty sure she was the issue and not the surgeon's assistant. On another occasion, I had to call Dr. Petrus's office and ask for a prescription. I declined getting a prescription during the office visit because I asked the doctor if I changed my mind, if I could just call and get the prescription and she said yes. I called for 4 days straight to get it and I never got it. I haven't called back and I'm definitely not going back there again. read more

Worst doctor I have ever met. Saw a bunch of hippa violations at my visit an open computer screen with prior patient information that had been in my room before me. Doctor was quite rude. Scheduled a follow up visit for what I was being seen and when I showed up for the follow up I waited over an hour in the room for the doctor, just for her to tell me I didn't need to be seen her office should've called me and let me know my test where normal so no visit was needed I literally saw her for about 2min asked her to give back my copay she said no you saw me didn't you smiled and walked away.. I left now almost a year later I'm still reciving bills saying I need to pay my copay even though I have my receipt. Called again today after speaking with a girl named carol who had always been nice and courteous I now spoke with an Yvette claiming to be office manager she was really rude and I explained to her I had my receipt to prove I had paid my copay she then said I hadn't I explained to her that I had been talking to carol for the past 9months she was supposed to clear my account and yvette then told me oh well she isn't here anymore you still owe it with an attitude before I could say anything she hung up on me and so I called back jenny than answered and all of sudden Yvette no longer was there she has left for the day. I'm fairly certain a HIPAA violation occurred yesterday when I was changing into a paper gown and a staff member just walked right in on me, exposed in all my glory, without even knocking. I was completely humiliated. There was another patient, A MAN, on the other side of the door. I have never experienced such unprofessionalism and will never return to this office.
