There is one a like in particular labelled Two Fat Ladies, that I wanted. I walked up and down the aisles searching for it. These aisles were long, so I gave up the search and decided to just asked a staff member where I could find that. He told me that don't stock that brand. I was in shock. I thought this liquor store, being so big and all, would stock it. Unfortunately for me, they don't. Of course, I could try other alternatives, but it wouldn't be the same. Boo. So although this is a liquor superstore, they don't stock everything. But there is a lot of everything else that I'm sure would work out just fine.

I probably wouldn't recommend this shop for someone looking to go out and get drunk as cheaply as possible. The main brands of generic beers (e.g. V.B., Hahn Super Dry, XXXX etc) are featured here but are more expensive by a dollar or two than a liquor barn. Back to the staff. They're awesome. Generic: They have a fantastic range at fantastic prices. Often wine deals where you buy a case and get them cheaper. Great amount of imported liquor. A lot of things you probably hadn't heard of. If you can't find it here you probably won't find it elsewhere. Location: This Dan Murphy's is okay. It's actually attached to the Hamilton Hotel, so you have to park there to get in. Nothing too special, but if you're coming from the city it is a bit annoying to get to because of Kingsford Smith Drive having a lovely centre island between lanes. There is a set of lights right outside from which you can head in or outbound. Service: Nothing stood out but the guy who served was very nice. Had a bit of a chat and a joke and got the job done well. Sometimes that's all you need!

I guess that's why it's a superstore. The prices are by far cheaper than the other BWS' around the corner and your other local booze shops, and they are open a little later than most as well. I go here when i need a special bottle of wine as a gift or beer for my husband. They have quite a big selection here, and you can pretty find any brand of wine you are looking for. They have a chiller for wine's in the front past the checkouts as well. They are enviromental friendly, don't give you plastic bags, but have old boxes you can carry your guilty pleasure out in, i'm a big fan of this. They aren't big on service because the store is huge and there aren't that many staff around... but they are where you should go to get your liquor.

They also provide... maybe a first for Brisbane... a free liquor delivery service to Brisbane CBD and the general metro area... unheard of! They also cater liquor to functions for work and what have you. Staff are really lovely and knowledgeable, and the place has been open for many many years so it holds history... smells a bit of history too... but not in a bad way. The staff also informed me that should I not be able to come into the store, they also have an online champagne gallery which will have a brilliant selection of fine champagne... delivered free! The champagnes aren't that cheap mind you, so I have a feeling they may have incorporated the 'free delivery' price into the price of the alcohol, but either way. This place is where you need to visit. Right next to the bar too. I'll definetely be checking out their online site... i'd never heard of one before!

Not only am I ignorant about good wines, I also have a terrible memory for names so I can never remember any good wines I've sampled at restaurants. At Grand Central Cellar, I simply tell the staff my price range and that I'm looking for a red that is sweet, not dry and tastes like blackcurrants. They get it right every time.

First up this place is in a pretty handy location if you are planning a night on the town (or about to pay $5 a head for restaurant BYO's!) The space is nicely laid out and the staff are knowledgable and helpful when it comes to best sellers or good food pairings. They are a swell place to go to if you are a wine buff, from a huge range of reds and whites to $250 french champagne. With a range of goods from $15 to $600 there is something for every budget and palate.
