Imagined by the husband/wife team of Óscar and Bia Bosch, TANIT brings Spanish sensibilities to São…read morePaulo from a man whose resume includes the likes of Hof van Cleve, El Celler de Can Roca and El Bulli. Opened in May of 2016 and earning a Michelin Star since Brazil's inaugural guide, an elegant space bathed in natural light welcoming diners for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Sunday, it is once past the streetside patio and wood-paneled entrance that diners are seated, servers fluent in English happily assisting with the Portuguese menu. Part "tapas," but also offering full-size plates amenable to any size party, many guests will be found sipping one of several unique Cocktails, Cachaca expectedly featured alongside other Spirits in concoctions such as "Spice Charum" with piquant Powder suspended above smooth Rum and Citrus. Not exactly fusion, but carefully adapting Catalonian tastes to the Brazilian palate, it was not long after opening that all seats were filed, a procession of plates beginning with fried Confit Duck and followed by Squid Ink Rice Crackers topped in Breaded Shrimp, Avocado and Hot Sauce. Cooking inside a surprisingly small kitchen, Chef Bosch on the line with his team throughout a ninety minute stay, it was in succession that plates three and four arrived, TANIT's Salt Cod dazzling when dipped in gingered Sauce while fried Potato rounds saw traditional Patatas Bravas upgraded by Chorizo Ragu. Gifted two Tuna Cones prior to Dessert, the same Ginger Aioli offered alongside Bosch's Bunuelos here lending the Tartare an Asian accent, it was on the server's recommendation that sweets started with Chocolate, a plate titled "Gianduja" offering a deconstructed idea of Italy's famous Spread with the Hazelnut Pastry and thick Ganache particularly noteworthy. Finishing strong, Óscar's time with Jordi Roca and Albert Adria clearly evidenced by Desserts that succeed despite limited sweetness thanks to balanced textures, flavors and temperature, it would be a mistake to pass on either "Milho" or "Torrija," the former a feather-light taste of Summer until spoon meets Ice Cream while the fried French Toast is heavier but equally impressive as concentrated Sherry plays off Peanuts and Coffee.

The previous week to this, I had visited Michelin Star rated Casa Mono in New York City and this restaurant far surpassed this restaurant in quality, ambiance and cost performance. My favorite dishes were the octopus (not pictured), the fish in an artichoke sauce and the shrimp on the rice cracker. I would definitely return if I lived in São Paulo and recommend it to those looking for a nice Spanish dinner in São Paulo.

Lets talk about Kouzina...having read several of the reviews I am obliged to say that the message…read moreof Kouzina is not to be a greek gastronomy specialist in the market - yes it does serve so called greek food, but it's not authentically greek at all - they have greek influences and the buck stops there. Having eaten at Myk a few times and been at Kouzina a couple of times - the difference is clear. Kouzina is quick, smartly priced, "greek-inspired" Brazilian food that actually works quite well. I've only been here for lunch and ordered their dish of the day on both occasions - once it was a 'picadinho de cordeiro' and the second time a basic spaghetti with calamaris - on both occasions I was with friends and we landed up sharing a salad (recommend the Myk salad). The food is fresh, service doesn't take long, you can practically see your food being prepared in their class walled busy & efficient kitchen. Also tried their dessert - a slice of warm chocolate cake with a scoop of coffee ice-cream and the turkish (greek) coffee - no complaints at all. I wouldn't call the food great but the service is friendly and the ambience is cool and yes, it is quite well priced especially for the region where it is located. Kouzina is slightly cramped, as Hans O. puts it in his review, the space between the tables is quite narrow, but hey, its a restaurant where your dish of the day (extremely wells served portion) comes for under R$ 35 - the service is friendly and you get bang for your buck. Kouzina is a restaurante owned by a group that has has greek investors - they have been expanding rapidly in Jardins and each of their establishments meet the purpose & market they are meant to cater to. Recommend it for a quick lunch - just tone down your 'greek' expectations !

My best meal in São Paulo so far! Came here after a long day full of travel, and I was hoping for…read moresome satisfying veggie grub. Kouzina did not disappoint. First off- the place is done up very well, I felt like I was in a cozy Greek house. The maitre'd Ileana, was superb- welcoming, fun and attentive. The waitstaff took the time to help me pick the best veggie options. I started with some authentically made dolmades. I was first introduced to this dish as a teenager, and I fell in love with it at once. I enjoyed my meal, but the tzatziki could use some more dill and garlic IMO. The zucchini pasta was light and nice, although I could barely finish it after my hearty mezze. The nicest touch was a complimentary dessert of chocolate, nuts and dolce de leite-compliments of the Chef! What a fantastic dinner! I'd love to go back sometime.
