I was given a Burial Deed for my great grandfather John Paterson's grave which he purchased in 1875, and was able to locate it eventually. It was significant as it gave the missing details of his first wife (my great-grandmother Mary Jane Lothian MacNab) and his second wife also Mary who emigrated to Canada (explaining a vistor to my grandmother from Canada called Clive). John Paterson died in 1913. It also explains why my grandfather, also John Paterson, and his daughter my mother always referred to our tartan as being MacNab! John Paterson was born in Caledonian Place and died at Braid Road. I also have the Funeral arrangements letter from the Funeral Directors WT Dunbar & Sons of Morrison Street, who are
still there! I found the Cemetery fascinating historically, but sad in terms of it's
dilapidation.
