I'll start with the positive: My case was well presented and clearly written, and it got approved (this was my second O-1 visa, the first one I did it with a different lawyer). The problems arise when it comes to meeting deadlines. My case was literally sent the very last day it could be sent, even though i've been uploading the documentation several months in advance. I barely had any time to proof read it, so there was no time to correct some inaccuracies. USCIS sent a Request For Evidence to my lawyer on January 15th, but I didn't see a copy of it until a month later... I guess it was sitting somewhere in their office and they forgot about it until I inquired? And then it took over two months from the moment the legal team received my extra supporting documents until the 8 page response was sent, practically making it pointless to have paid the $2500 for the expedited response Another pearl was my paralegal. She would take more than a week to answer simple emails, or would be completely clueless regarding the details of my case when we would jump into a call. From looking at other Yelp reviews across time you can see that this office has suffered a considerable loss of quality in the last 2-3 years. It used to be one of the top lawyers in town a while back, and it was widely recommended to me. Now it's not the case anymore. read more

I recently got my O-1 visa through D'Alessio and I am happy I decided to go with them for my visa! I didn't get an RFE which was great, but I had some issues working with them --- nothing too major, but I thought I have to put it here so people would be aware. Thus, the 4 stars of this review. TL;DR at the end. I started working with them last February 2020 because my OPT will expire by July 2020. My lawyer was great (Kelly). She usually responds within 24 hours --- sometimes a little more than that. What I really had problems with is my first case manager (Olivia). Since I am an organized person, I finished submitting all my required documents (including evidences) by end of March and they said they'll be able to submit it by May. When May came, I asked on updates and I found out they haven't fully been working on my case. I turns out, they needed more documents for me to submit (documents that they had to write first then have my petitioner and deal memo signers sign), and they did not send it to me last March. I was frustrated because I submitted early in the case we need do more stuff (like have my deal memo signers sign stuff), and they didn't handle it on time. I had delays and paid extra money ($60) to settle my union fee refunds (because Olivia delayed those too). And it wasn't even my fault but I paid for it anyway. I was frustrated... Olivia also replies really really late. After a while, they changed my case manager (Reem), in which I had a better time working with. I think she felt my stress and tried to reassure me that it's going to get submitted soon. She handled my case better than Olivia. Lastly, I noticed that overall, before submitting documents and stuff, I wasn't informed too much on what is good to submit or not. If it were not for me being good research and being organized, I wouldn't be able to have an idea on what to submit. I think being more aware of what is needed and D'Alessio fixing my documents helped me not get an RFE. TL;DR - I am happy I got my visa through D'Alessio, but it was stressful working with my first case manager (Olivia) since she delayed everything. At this rate, I don't think the price I paid should be as high as how much I paid them, but at least I got my visa! read more

Possibly the worst experience I've ever had with any company. As soon as they take your money their responsiveness and service drops. It is a struggle to get any response from anyone. I don't think they ever even started a file for me. They are unorganized, negligent, and borderline malicious. I have contacted about receiving a refund and was told I can receive a partial refund, and that's when all the emails stopped completely despite over 7 emails and a phone call over weeks. Avoid. Very ineffective people and honestly a scam. They took our family immigration case. A very simple case. It took us over 18 months to get the visa when it should have been less than 10 month. They assign more than 5 admin people to the case and 1 actual lawyer. Lawyer's advices were incorrect. Admin people made mistakes constantly on our forms. I had to correct them multiple times. They were slow to respond. We tried to escalate to their leadership, the owner of the firm. Never even heard back. Totally ignored. All these things led to our case taking longer than it should. My girlfriend had a terrible experience with them. Main thing is they waited until the afternoon of the LAST POSSIBLE DAY to file her visa renewal application. Literally hours away from being deported. This was contrary to their explicit assurances that they'd file it way earlier, and despite her numerous polite reminders and inquiries. From what began as a very rocky start, I am glad to now continue to move forward and to experience the excellent service to which the D'Alessio Law Group has been praised. My initial application was misfiled/mishandled by another attorney last year. I've worked with many firms and attorneys in my career and I know things just happen, I don't hold anything against the other great attorneys here; such is professional services. However what separates this situation is Lorraine's response. Lorraine quickly stepped in to ensure my applications going forward are properly filed. We still have a long way to go with my immigration process, but this is a very positive step which certainly deserved my review being updated. Working with D'Alessio Law Group has been the worst experience in my life. I've never worked with a company, or lawyer, who has been more disrespectful than this firm. After you pay your retainer fee, this firm basically ghosts you. The lawyers we have worked with here (we're on our third lawyer) do not responds to emails. We've also been stood up by their lawyers, where they have failed to connect to scheduled conference calls. I regret ever hiring D'Alessio Law Group. They have made this process extremely stressful and have slowed everything down while my wife and myself have been left in limbo. D'Alessio were the team that got me into the US and that is the reason for the 1 star. Since then I've had a terrible experience. They request your money so damn fast and over complicate everything. I tried calling multiple times and they would never answer a question over the phone and would ask me to email a guy who I believe doesn't even work at the firm. I had a great experience with them back in 2017 when they helped me get my first O1 successfully. Even though I've been hearing multiple negative experiences from others about working with them in the past few years, I still went with them again this time, for the reason that they know me and my case well. I was totally wrong. I do have to be clear that I have received my O1 renewal approved successfully in August, hence the one star. However, it absolutely does not worth the amount of stress, frustration and near heart-attack situations I went through. It was a huge jumbled mess working with them this time, so to be clear I'm using bullet points - - They filed my case on the ABSOLUTE LAST DAY of my legal presence in the US, which they've repeatedly promised was not going to happen. On the last day, I still couldn't confirm with them if my case had been mailed. I had to physically go into the office and make sure. Another friend of mine experienced the same thing a month later, so it is not a rare occurrence. - The paralegal didn't really reply to emails. The worst wait was 8 days, and she constantly ignores a follow-up email as well. - It took them more than FOUR months to file my O1 renewal, whereas it took them only two months in 2017 to file my first O1, a much bigger and complicated case. - During the four months of working with them, I was in a constant battle trying to find out what was happening with my case. I finally got my O1 visa approved, thanks to the professionals at D'Alessio Law Group. I consulted many different attorneys across the state, prior meeting them, and I was told every time that I pretty much didn't have a case if I didn't have a Grammy already. DLG handled everything from start to finish. It took me a while to collect all the things needed but they stuck with me throughout the whole process and answered each and every one of my annoying questions. I'm definitely going back to them when it's time for the next step, a green card! You have to have in mind that every case is different and the result also very much depends on the officer who is going to handle your case at USCIS. Our first submission took almost 5 months to be reviewed and was returned. The attorneys at DLG didn't give up. We submitted again and the second time it was reviewed and approved in 10 days. I had an incredibly unfortunate and stressful experience working with Lorraine D'Alessio's law group. My case was predominantly managed by a virtual assistant with no law background, that was hired on with the company around the time that I retained them to work on my visa. The VA put together a really sloppy case using a template which was very apparent when they inappropriately referred to me as a "he" and a "musician" - neither of which I am, and they misspelled my Petitioner's name. This was all missed during the "quality check" by the lawyer who I never heard from until after I was issued an RFE. They didn't really say sorry, and after they finally met with me to discuss how to respond to the RFE, the lawyer actually thought that I was an actress, which I also am not. At that point I knew that this firm clearly knew nothing about me, even though they spent months "working on my case" so I cut my losses and hired a different law firm, and eventually I did win my case. I just want to warn anyone that is thinking of hiring them. I tried to leave this review on google, but I think that they have been flagged for having so many fake reviews, so it's not showing up. Just think twice if you are thinking of hiring them, and make sure to do your research. read more

I FINALLY received my biometrics appointment and it was set for the day before New Year's Eve. I was surprised that the USCIS was scheduling appointments during the holidays. Because I had planned travel outside the country, I was able to walk-in to the assigned USCIS office on Dec.3/19 with my paperwork and finally complete my fingerprinting and get my photo taken. My timeline was pushed back by about 6 months with this whole debacle, but I am just happy that my initial appointment is done. read more

DON'T TRUST THIS FIRM! It's well-known that they are not good. I hired them, and my experience with them was the worst experience ever. This is a resume of what happened: I've hired this group to manage my O1 Visa, and I'm more than disappointed with them. They didn't keep their word, and they misrepresented me. They've taken my money and have ruined my case, even though my case was a strong one. As I'm not just a well-known actress but also an influencer, they suggested applying for both categories (increasing the cost.) It was the worst advice; because Migration found very odd the applying for both categories together, so they requested to choose just one category (as my original idea was) and asked for more information. Consequently, this issue prolonged the process, increasing time and expenses. I shouldn't pay for D'alessio's bad practice. On the contract we've signed, they guarantee to provide immediate and adequate advice, but neither one has been fulfilled. Examples of their misrepresentation: I've tried to reach them several times before re-entering to the US. They didn't respond, hence I didn't get the advice I needed. Unfortunately, I was held at the airport by Migration for three hours; without any support from my lawyers. This caused me big psychological distress. Since the personnel was changed, they delayed the process for about two months. It was ME who had to explain everything again. Because of a social riot, I couldn't come back to my country, and they advised me to stay and process my visa from inside the US. Two weeks later, when I had already paid for a new airplane ticket and a place to stay, they found out they've made a mistake; since I have a "waiver," not a "tourist visa." Even though from the very begging they've had a copy of my passport displaying the waiver, their negligent advice caused me a big deal of stress and more waste of money. The list goes on and on. At this moment, I've been trying to reach them, but they don't even respond to me. Therefore, I urge you to be careful. Look for another attorney! read more

My visa renewal was a nightmare with this firm. I had used them on a previous renewal and thought I could again trust in their services but I was hugely disappointed. Their business has gone downhill. I had a lawyer make huge mistakes on my case and cost me time and money. I then had to fight to have my case re-submitted free of charge with another lawyer in the office which led to my case being low priority. I had numerous delays, information going missing, I was told progress was being made when it wasn't... it goes on. My case was transferred between 3 different lawyers in the office and at times I would have to email 3 times just to get a response. My advice to others is to go elsewhere, even if you need to spend more money, as dealing with this firm isn't worth the stress! I also witnessed the lawyers partying at Coachella on Instagram, and posting selfies while I waited for email responses and was stuck in Australia with no visa. Completely unprofessional. read more

My family and I engaged D'Alessio Law Group to begin the process of obtaining an E3 Visa for myself and my children. Initially they recommended we go for an L1 Visa - after months (and funds wasted) they then told me due to time restraints I should go with an E3 Visa. This is the one I originally wanted to pursue. Ok, no problem. We changed route and went the E3 and they told me go attend your consulate interview. Come the morning of the interview they forgot to give me a document so we had to last minute have it emailed and printed. Ok, no problem. Then I go to my interview and the interviewer asks me where my children are. My lawyer at D'Alessio informed me my children need not attend - I had to fly my children to the consulate separately for their interview for the day the next week and it was costly both in terms of money and time. Ok. No. Problem. We finally get the E3 and go to America. My son is in danger of aging out so we begin the green card process for myself and my children. We decide to start the process on our own having been scared off using a lawyer given our previous experiences. We are successful up until a request for more evidence. We get gun-shy and decide to go back to D'Alessio and ask for their assistance. We express our earlier frustrations with their standard of work and they seem much more receptive. We get a call from the owner herself and believe we will finally be looked after properly. Unfortunately this proved not to be the case. We were strung along, a lot. We had many instances of unreturned contact and got the overall impression of deja vu and being overlooked again. The final hurrah was a phone call with the owner where she advised that we abandon our green card application as we had very low chances of being approved. The BEST thing we ever did was IGNORE that advice. We continued on our own with our application. Provided all the evidence asked of us in the request from USCIS and our green cards were approved. If you have an important immigration issue I would caution you in engaging with D'Alessio simply for the fact that they need to gain more experience, and perhaps take on fewer clients to be better able to respond to their clients needs and cases. The most important thing to remember if you work or help people with immigration anything is that for some people it's literally one of the most important applications of their lives. Not taking care and attention could cost people their chance to live with their family or move to a better life in another country. There is no excuse for such irresponsible handling of a clients affairs, if you can't do the work advise the client and suggest they go elsewhere. read more
