very cool place and reasonable ticket prices, you could be in here for over an hour with all the stuff to look at, they'll even start up anything for you

My husband is a Harley guy to the Nth degree. His dad was even moreso. His dad and him went to WTT often from Knoxville for many years but tragically his dad died unexpectedly in an accident two years ago. This weekend was the anniversary of his passing and I wanted to go something for my husband to help remember the good times so we came out here. I know nothing about bikes except how to ride on the back but bringing him here brought a piece of his dad back with us. He even saw someone from your online videos he knew in person and got so excited his eyes lit up. Sadly, he was busy with someone else and we didn't want to bother him, but it was exciting for my hubby none the less. Thank you for having this place for bike enthusiasts to re-live all their favorite memories!

I have been wanting to come here for years and I was finally in the area. It was raining so wasn't the best outside. But this place has so many different motorcycles scooters and other vehicles this place has more things than a swap meet. $15 per person to get in but so worth the effort and time. Stop waiting and get here for a visit.

In Maggie Valley? Love motorcycles or anything vintage? Then this is the place for you!!!! We LOVED this place!!! Over 300 rare motorcycles and a "distinct array of unique one-off American automobiles." Friendly and knowledgeable staff available for questions. You can pace yourself inside the museum, take your time so you don't miss anything! Elevators are available for WC and stroller use. Plenty of parking available. Restrooms are available in the front of the museum. Awesome merchandise available. They have mischief made brand shirt for women! Which I picked one up for myself. Don't have your size available in the store? You can have their merchandise shipped to you! Say whhhatttt?? FYI- They currently have a raffle going on: A 1948 black Harley Davidson panhead. $10 a ticket or 3 for $20. You can purchase a raffle on line as well. Of course check their website out for more info :)

Great people that work here to , carry on Dales , incomparable legacy .... We walk in, and the first thing that occurs is a guide/enthusiast, Andy Norris, starts up a vintage flat track car, with a 4 cylinder flat head, revs it up, and tells me to blip the throttle as well !! Unbelievable, to do that for me. The classic bikes, are both , restored pristine examples, and as you can imagine, barn finds, that are displayed the way , they were discovered. What makes them all special, is I think all the complete examples, all run!! The displays are all great, because they remind you of old workshops, where the bikes would have been in ....If you are a Motorcycle enthusiast, you already know you must go enjoy this , true, celebration of American mechanical history !!! Don't miss it !!

Motorcycles yes it's great. Museum is pretty loose definition. Just stuff everywhere, some with signage, most not. Very cool displays and wonderful staff. Nice to see most bikes unrestored but doubt you'll learn anything here. Saw few bikes started up which was nice. Touch pricey for the quick tour, gravel parking lot for bikes at a bike joint. If wasn't for neat displays I'd give them 1 star.

Dale Walksler's "Wheels Thru Time Motorcycle Museum" is a masterful collection of Americana experienced (mostly) on two wheels and an engine strapped between your legs. Admission is a modest $15 and for an additional $10 each, an opportunity to win the bike of the year could be yours. Pro tip: I gonna win so don't bother. We took our time and weaved throughout the decades of flatheads, shovelheads, knuckleheads, 4 cylinder wonders, some awesome automobiles, military bikes, flat track, etc., and even a vintage Evil Knieval original. They have a massive display. So much to appreciate in one visit. Occasionally, a guide educated us on a specific model or era. We found them both passionate and informative. Nice touch. A couple suggestions: the museum is surprisingly large so a few more resting benches would be nice, along with a small coffee/snack shop. Sometimes they start up bikes during the day which is cool. The acrid fumes, however, linger burning your eyes and throat (not as cool as when I was younger). A Big Ass Fan would help greatly. OMG, I'm showing my age! Love bikes? Especially early Harleys and Indians? Ringing all the bells on my "Give 'em a Whirl" meter. Go. Really, go.

I am not a motorcycle rider. My husband is. We went for Memorial Day weekend. It was an amazing walk through time. The things displayed and the history guides were amazing. We stayed a few hours and walked through the museum twice. To see and hear a 1940 Harley or Indian crank and run like it was just built was pretty cool.

Exactly what I imagined from seeing a variety of clips on tv. Actually, a bit more than I imagined inasmuch as the displays are rife and abundantly filled with more appropriate pieces and parts than I could ever have imagined. Expertly displayed, the "wheels" primarily highlight motorcycle. But there is also a gorgeous collection of unique motor cars. My feeble attempts at trying to describe this place fall far short of doing justice to this marvelous museum. Even my wife who cares little about motorcycles (even though she's ridden in years gone by) was overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of the historic and thoroughly entertaining displays. Please check hours so you won't be disappointed by arriving on a day they might be closed. Then pick your day and come revel in a wonderful and nostalgic trip on two or three or four Wheels Through Time.

I was worried that there wouldn't be any new exhibits but I was surprised and happy to find the opposite to be true. They have definitely expanded and updated since my last visit. If you enjoy true crime and/or history this is a great spot to visit. On the crime side of things they have a wide range of crimes-not just serial killers or murder. (They do have a Ted Bundy VW beetle and 2 John Wayne Gacy clown costumes on display). They also have areas for financial crimes, etc. History wise they start off in medieval era, then the Wild West, mafia to present day. Nice exhibit on 911. Interactive exhibits too, like DUI and autopsy. Well worth the price of admission to me. Easily a couple hours of stuff to do. Especially nice on a rainy day!

So this becomes a 1.5-2 hour engagement. It can be dark in areas, so if you're the owner of old eyes. Break out the iPhone flashlight. The rooms are designed to be progressive thru the years (the Middle Ages were messed up!!!). So the pacing is well thought. We went in the off season and it wasn't crowded. I could see during the season, it could be a challenge. Lots of middle aged women that listen to "those podcasts". So husbands be wary when wives start nodding at one another. A great place to go on a "weather" day. As a side note, the staff made a point of stating that all but four display items were authentic and not recreations.

At first I was slightly skeptical walking into the building because we were the only family there, but to my surprise, the Air Museum was huge with an array of vintage and new aircrafts that had plaques explaining where they were built and what they were used in. The staff were extremely friendly. One of the staff members, an older gentleman, actually walked around with my family and explained further in depth what each aircraft was used for. I felt like I was stepping back into time, which I loved. Although the aircrafts were quite large the museum was spacious and extremely clean. It is so nice that WNC Air Museum is free for families to enjoy, but donations are welcomed and accepted if you would like to give back to the air community. Although I like to joke that I am an LGB G scale purist, I was impressed by this collection of model trains which are mostly O gauge trains from Lionel. The display cases are nicely displayed and labeled and the plexi-glass was super clean. Plus, this is a massive collection! While many people will enjoy watching the trains zip around the large layout and pushing the buttons for the interactive layout, my husband loved looking for items from the B&O railroad while I enjoyed looking at models of my favorite locomotives. It was really cool to see models in this collection of some of the greats like Norfolk and Western J-611 and Union Pacific "Big Boy." For kids the museum offers a scavenger hunt but I think my husband and I would have had fun doing that ourselves! Admission to the museum is included with a train ride on the GSMR.
