Mrs Ritz had her License suspended in 2016, for ethical violations by the North Dakota board of…read moresocial workers. She had to complete a college course on ethics to have her license reinstated. Mrs Ritz accused her 4 employees who reported her of attacking her. She took no accountability for her violations of ethics and boundaries. She manipulated a client into writing a positive review for her and that the client had to send the review to her and her attorney and not directly to the ND board of school workers. She brought religion into the picture. Had that client known Mrs Ritz's actions were in the past that caused the client unhealable harm, she would have ceased ALL therapy with Mrs Ritz permanently. Mrs Ritz committed her former client to a psychiatric hospital out of state, (not in ND.) The client had discontinued psychotherapy with her. The client had an anxiety attack on her way to her destination. The mental health police were called by an employee at a convenience store gas station. The client was off the road and NOT a danger to herself or anyone else. The mental health police demanded to know where the person was coming from. The client after relentless demands of the mental health police gave Mrs Ritz's name and number. They contacted Mrs Ritz. Mrs Rits committed that former client to a facility out of state. This was beyond an ethical violation. She did not agree with the client's decision to move out of state and took it into her hands to make the client pay a penalty for walking away from psychotherapy with her. She has relentlessly accused this former client of attacking her. The same as with her four former employees. The dog is that the employees had a network of professionals to support them. The client did not have that. As Mrs Ritz did character assassination of her four former employees she has done so much more to the former client. The former client has not even once attacked her. The former client finally walked away from Mrs Ritz permanently. Speaking the truth is not attacking a person. Speaking the truth is your telling the truth. Mrs Ritz crosses boundaries into personal relationships with her clients outside the office and not respecting ethical boundaries. She accused her client of crossing boundaries with gifts that she should NEVER have accepted. She should NEVER go out to eat with a client or to the church that they are attending. The psychotherapy relationship was toxic between Mrs Ritz and the client. A therapist must take the lead in boundaries. Mrs Ritz never did. She will state that she was being kind. Kindness is not an exception for violating a clients boundaries. It is unethical. She does not advertise herself as a religious therapist yet she brings it into therapy. I would strongly caution anyone considering psychotherapy with Mrs Ritz to do extensive background search into her and seek out the four employees who reported her and speak with them who reported her in 2016. Do NOT accept her rhetoric that those reporting her are attacking her. These are two different things completely. Speaking the truth is not attacking. Mrs Ritz's response when the client was told what she had done. Please note that trauma survivors often apologize for what happened to them. All they were hoping for is a simple apology. This was Mrs Ritz's response. All the former client was hoping for is a simple apology and closure. This was Mrs Ritz's response. The damage that has been done can never be undone.

I have contemplated writing this review for years. I am finally healing from the trauma that Ritz…read morecaused me. She didn't believe me on several occasions, what reason would I have to lie to her about my trauma? She would get very upset if I started having emotions like crying. If I cried about something that happened to someone else (like empathy) she would tell me I am stealing their emotions and have no right to cry. She has zero empathy and could work on that herself. She made me feel so bad about myself and like I was the problem. My family started worrying about me because I would get significantly worse after appointments. They finally convinced me to go elsewhere and that therapist is worlds different. I can't express how much she broke me. She was abusive herself
