Along the back, almost built into the back wall are a bunch of individualized study rooms. each room is built for 1 person, couple have enough room for 2 or 3. these study rooms fill up super quick tho and people rarely leave, so get there as quick as you can. they have a huge room for a community meeting space as well. the overall library is kind of smaller compared to others in the area. they have couple of desks set up on the other side of the library which has a coat rack, outlets, and roomy chairs. It can get loud here so be careful when visiting prime hours. they have prayer mats available for muslims to pray on, which i thought was a considerate touch. this place is your average library but the fact it has almost 10 or 12 individual study rooms is really whats giving this place their edge! not to mention it's close proximity to the burnsville center, costco and lots of food places.

I've been here a couple times and have had great experiences! My most recent time, I went to apply…read morefor a passport but I didn't have an appointment. I was a little nervous so I called ahead of time - they do in fact allow for passport applications without appointments, but will serve appointments first. We came in, checked in on the screen and were served within 2 minutes! I was shocked but very pleased. We had all our documents ready to go. Service was quick and efficient and the lady at the window was very kind and personable, though I think she was new and being trained because the lady behind her was a bit quiet and focused. Regardless, we were treated well and both ladies were efficient and helpful. There is an ample amount of seating and the area is beautiful, filled with real plants and greenery. It looked clean and there are vending machines available. It's connected to a Library so if you have little ones and have a long wait, you can hop on over there.

The US Dept of State website should not list this facility for passport renewals. ALSO: the supervisor on duty at Dakota County suggested that I do not know the difference between "acceptance" and "expedited". Perhaps the Supervisor should visit the US Dept of State travel website.

They have 4 individual study rooms that you can "check out" by showing your drivers license, they're sticklers about it. I don't understand the point of showing your license at a public library-none of the other branches have this rule. The staff here is rude and unapproachable. I also hate the smell, it's like old wood.

They got rid of the seating (probably years ago, I hear theories on why) but it makes it less inviting. The staff do usually greet/ask if you need help, which is nice. They do always have a decent clearance/sale area with a bit of everything. Prices vary from store to store, I do find that this location has better pricing than some of the other locations. I was told they would try to resolve the issue and get back to me. By 9:30 am the next day I get a call that I was all set and just needed to go in to the Burnsville office to complete my process. I went real early on Monday morning and got in with about 9 others waiting for the doors to open. I got both my driver's license and vehicle plates and was out of there by 9 am. Now I'm an official Minnesotan!
