On 8/12/26, my mom and I stopped by Dairy Queen and were helped by Kristof. From the moment we walked in, he greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. My mom is pretty picky and was having a hard time deciding on a flavor because of all the different options and add-ins, and she didn't see the flavor she wanted on the menu. Kristof was incredibly patient and helped her figure out exactly what she was looking for. The cozy small town vibe of the restaurant was perfect by the way. As a small business owner, I pay attention to customer service, and employees like Kristof really stand out. He's the kind of person I would hire in a heartbeat. There are average workers, and then there are people who genuinely make the experience better. Kristof wasn't putting on a scripted customer service act--he came across as a genuine person who enjoys what he does. He was professional, helpful, and kind throughout our visit. He's the type of employee who keeps customers coming back. Losing someone like Kristof would be a huge mistake!! I would give mine stars if that was available as the service was subpar to say the least. My wife and I drove quite a way because we like going to small towns for things like this and just take a nice Sunday drive we get there. We order two simple small blizzards diverse are taken order. Needs a class in hospitality and how to talk to adult adults and just overall basic pleasantries to start with. A different female brings us our order as if she not only hated her job, but also her life in general. Disgruntled would be an understatement at best as she threw up the window with the attitude of a cactus! She handed us the blizzard as if we had wrong turn someway by bringing them our business and she failed to turn them upside down. If she would've turned them over, she may have seen the complete mess they made on the outside of the cup and as I grab, it was just my fingertip so I don't make a mess in my vehicle. She asked me if I wanted a napkin. I guess my dumbfounded look at her and her inability to use common sense and do her job and clean something before she hand it to somebody I guess spoke volumes because she abruptly turned, let out of breath and slammed the window. My wife and I look at each other and disbelief, and we had to laugh and drive away appreciative that we're not as unhappy as this particular person. My suggestion would be to send your business elsewhere as these people do not appreciate it and apparently the owners do not care as well as they have yet to make any changes as I see there's only two stars listed previously good luck!!! read more

This is the third time my order has been messed up. I let the other two times pass as they have a lot of new staff, HS kids etc. Today I ordered the Dude combo. What I got was a chicken fried steak sandwich that had MUSTARD on it. Ya'll have got to get your stuff together. Expand your training or give them a list of what goes on each sandwich or something. I know this location has some pretty bad reviews, but come on people. It's a Dairy Queen in Stockdale. It's the closest drive thru fast food we have and for what it is, it's not bad. It takes a little bit to get the food out but nothing outrageous, and if you want a quick drive thru meal without having to drive to La Vernia it's pretty good. read more

Very good food! Everything was perfectly made and came out very quick! The young Lady who took our order was super sweet and was constantly helping others. Only four stars on this review because it has a single stall bathroom one for each women and men but there was no changing table for my son. I had to change him in the car and also had to keep waiting for an open opportunity to use the bathroom. Other than that the service, food, and everything was very nice. read more

Was really surprised by all the bad reviews, stopped here as a last resort and was pleasantly surprised. Food was so fresh I burned my mouth, staff was friendly and bathrooms were clean. Perfect place for a bathroom break and quick bite on a roadtrip. read more

I have heard so many bad things about the quality of food from here that I refuse to get anything but the ice cream and even that can be a nightmare at times to get. It's either they only have 1 person working and it takes an hour to get an ice cream or the ice cream machine is down and is not as cold as it should be and you get already melted ice cream. I'm not sure why corporate hasn't stepped in to make changes to this place yet! read more

I'm not sure how this DQ is still open and operating... Have been here many times, this is my local DQ but regardless of how close I live to this DQ I do not go anymore. The manager in charge is the reason I am complaining, I have called corporate multiple times for his inappropriate behavior as MANAGER. He cussed me and my friends out for standing at the counter waiting to order blizzards, we would've patiently waited longer but we decided to take our business elsewhere. This same manager we have seen vaping in the store at the counter, and out of all the times I've been there I've never seen him actually working and the first time he was about to take our order is also the last. There are good employees that work at this DQ. I'm not complaining about the employees, I'm complaining about the poor management at this facility. read more

Were constantly waiting on food here. Anywhere between 10-20 minutes. This is in a town of 1246 freaking people. Its never incredibly busy. I'm actually in line right now.. only because its the only fast (haha) food in stockdale..and waited at the window for 2 mins before the girl came and took our money and gave two drinks...then waited another 6 before we were asked to pull forward...someone will bring us our food. We only ordered two meals. And one was a salad! Its a running joke between my husband and I on how long they're going to take. Even friends that have come to visot have gone through the line and thought to themselves.. wtf. One order shouldnt take 18 minutes. Not to mention.. only maybe a fourth of the times we've come here.. has our order been correct. They're not efficient wIth anything. Just got my order...waited a total of 20 minutes. Awesome. Dairy Queen - Worst place ever - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Stockdale, Texas

They deserve an award. For absolute worst Dairy Queen ever. I've been there a hand full of times to my dis fortune but I don't believe they've ever got my award correct. Most of the time you'll find other food in your food because they don't clean their machines and they often seem pretty lazy wen you ask them to fix their mistakes. The put pecans in my brothers salted caramel blizzard but no toffee pieces or candy. Good thing he didn't have a nut allergy.. They also don't have chocolate ice cream.. they told me they only had vanilla but they add chocolate sauce. They said all Dairy Queen's did that Don't believe that lie I've been to a lot of them and they have chocolate ice cream as well as they're all around better. I don't understand how they haven't been shut down. 10/10 don't recommend. read more

j Sunday afternoon I was craving a hamburger and some fries so I traveled to our local hometown Stockdale Dairy Queen. I had eaten there before and it was not the best nevertheless I was willing to give them another chance. As I exited my car I could see two employees smoking cigarettes outside. Young people smoke and I get that and thought very little of it until I waited at the counter for over seven minutes and no one ever took my order! There was one employee working the grill but I kind of feel like she was ignoring me because she was busy doing her job working by yourself trying to take care of the customers that had previously ordered their food and I get that too. I really wanted a hamburger but i'm just not willing to wait around that long and not even get my order taken so I left. As I exited the store there were the two employees still smoking, in fact they probably were smoking their second or third cigarette because I was in there so dang long they certainly would've finished the first or second cigarette. They were having a good time though just laughing and cutting up and that's fine but I should've been waited on and I should've got my food and be heading out the door not leaving empty-handed. So I can't tell y'all if the food was good or bad but I can tell you this service is awful! It will be a long, long time before I go back to the Dairy Queen in Stockdale again, if ever. read more

The food s about as good as any Dairy Queen, neither stellar nor horrible. However, what makes this place a no-go is the slow service. It's the slowest "fast food" I've ever had and it's not just a one time thing. This has been a consistent problem since my family moved to Stockdale. Why would I want to wait 30-45 minutes for a couple combo meals? The service is so slow that my husband and I actually preferred to make the 30 minute trip to Floresville if we wanted burgers and fries. At least until we tasted the burgers and fries at the Brahma Bullpen next door. But that's for another review. read more
