I remember my grandma, who hates soft serve ice cream. She'd call them "lasang bula," although I never knew how she got the basis for comparison (did you actually taste bula, Lola?). But once, during a blind taste test, Lola seemed OK with a Kit-Kat Dairy Queen Blizzard, so that's saying something about their quality.
PROS: Accessible soft serve ice cream that's so rich, they serve it to you upside down; They have a lot of flavors that you can choose from, and you can even personalize your own. I always order mine, whatever flavor I'd feel that day, with extra chocolate shell coating on top. Not mixed. Just so there's an extra layer of yummy chocolate.
CONS: Beware of "takaw tingin." Think again if you're considering their 16oz Blizzard because you can find that it can satiate you pretty quickly, and may end up chucking it in a bin even before getting halfway through. I personally just have 9oz for dessert.
TL;DR: Easy-to-get and affordable ice cream that's more delicious than regular soft serve. read more
