I had Zalina as my therapist. I got a swedish massage, which was nice and relaxing and actually fell asleep during the massage. The best part was the neck aka. "scalp" massage. So, here it goes... First visit - Excellent massage, A++ I have never received a better massage in my life. Generally, after about 35 minutes or so I start to get SOOOO BOREDDDD of the same repetitive motions - yet, I am too embarrassed to give the therapist better instruction and not only that but I feel bad doing so. So...I usually lay there thinking to myself, "I'm not a massage therapist or chiropractor, what do I know?" until I eventually nod off waiting for the massage to just be over. What a brat? Right!? Andrea did a combination of Deep Tissue, Lymphatic, and another style (I cannot remember) - but there was never a dull moment. She was so in tune with my body that I honestly felt like the lifetime of subpar massages was like my training for this! Unfortunately, every massage after from my 5 massage package was just meh. I've had maybe 12 massages in my life, and I'm pretty sure the one I had at Daily Calm yesterday was the best one! I did a couples' massage session with my husband- a belated Valentine's Day present to ourselves. It was an hour long, and the prices are great. It was easy to set up the appointment via text and pay over the phone. The staff was very inviting as soon as we walked in the door. Which by the way- the location is in a perfect spot. There was plenty of street parking (Saturday afternoon on a very nice day), and we were close enough to the Santa Monica Pier that we didn't have to move our car, and could walk to the beach. James was my masseur, and was amazing! I went in not knowing what type of massage I wanted/needed. I just knew I needed something that wouldn't be too painful, but hard enough because I knew there were knots everywhere. He knew exactly what to do. He applied the perfect amount of pressure and lotion/oils. I felt he worked off cues from my body, instead of just going through the motions. Daily Calm is the right place to go for a tranquil massage in a little studio with a blue sky and natural light through the windows. The massage therapist, Murat, is very skilled and strong! I had issues in my shoulders and neck and he was able to fix it! Andrea used to have yoga! But now the space seems to just be for massages - but if she ever does bring it back, it's a must go because it's inexpensive and Andrea is extremely skilled and very personal! I've been getting massages - specially deep tissue - for over a decade. Unfortunately, this place happen to be my worst experience. For starters my massage times were moved on three separate occasions and although I was accommodating every time, it was a little frustrating. My massages were also ended early every single time meaning I did not receive the full 60 minutes (one time it ended over 10 minutes) which seemed like such a rip off. Also, I am used to deep pressure when it comes to a good massage, but the technique was off on my last massage and it left me with bruising on my back (as seen in the picture the day after my massage). I spoke with the owner, Andrea, and asked if should could refund me just for the remaining massages I had not used yet in my package because I was very disappointed in the therapists (I had tried 3 different ones) and the professionalism of the company over-all and did not wish to return. She told me they had a new girl that would be starting soon, but I re-expressed to her after my bad experiences I did not want to return. She refused my request of a refund, saying "no-refunds" was stated on the website. All I can say is you get what you pay for...so I definitely would not suggest going to this place, even if the packages do seem like a great bargain. read more

I was visiting from Hawaii and wanted to try facial cryotherapy since they don't have where I live. I chose Daily Calm Wellness and couldn't be happier with the choice. Malia was highly professional and informative. She thoroughly answered all my questions and explained the science and technology behind what is still a fairly new and expanding field of skin rejuvenation. The procedure took about 30 minutes and was painless as Malia moved the cold wand over different parts of my face expertly as to avoid any discomfort. It was actually quite refreshing but the best parts were the results. They were immediate and amazing! It was like a little face lift. Ten years washed away with an cold wand. Who could have thought it. It's been a week and I'm still amazed with the results when I look in the mirror. The price was competitive as well. I went during the weekend and if I had to do it over I'd book on a weekday when the area is less crowded. Aside from that hiccup it was an amazing experience. The massages were great, and our massage therapists were wonderful and professional, checking in about the pressure and focusing on areas we had discussed in the beginning of the session. Wow. I just left my massage and I'm not sure I've ever felt so relaxed. My deep tissue massage may have been the best one I've ever gotten. It was the kind that really digs in deep but is still more pleasure than pain. My male masseuse was extremely professional and made sure to avert eyes while I flipped over and position the sheet where I wasn't exposed. The atmosphere fits the name perfectly. Very zen vibe. Daily Calm is located in Downtown Santa Monica, in a beautiful, vintage building. I bought a Groupon for a Lymphatic massage. The first appointment I scheduled had to be rescheduled due to staffing shortage. I was finally able to get my massage, and I must say, it was great; very relaxing. The room is bright with natural light, but the spa is very small and the massage rooms are separated by a curtain, so you will hear the noise from the waiting area if another client comes in. I find the massages here to be a little on the pricier side, especially because of the noise pollution, but they are running a special for new clients; $250 for 5 massages. I don't know how long the promotion will last, but the package has to be purchased within 5 days of your first massage. read more

Unfortunately, i didn't get to experience their massage, although feedback is great about this here. But My experience was ruined already when dealing with appointment. The woman on the phone, who appeared to be a manager, was really unprofessional and disrespectful. The story is: I made an appointment as i had a groupon which i had to cancel 6 hr before appt due to some health issues. She has informed me that they have 24 hours cancellation policy, so im gonna loose all groupon value. I was never informed abt that before. Though she said the cancellation policy indicated on groupon, however i double checked everywhere and it is not there. Neither i was informed when was calling and doing appointment,neither i was informed abt it in text message confirming my appointment. basically they said nothing about their cancellation policy. After i have explained all the above, she said that i would have to assume that it is 24 hr cancellation policy as similar business have same policies and they don't have to inform their clients abt that, or i should've read their website to learn about it. Confirmation text message was a courtesy so basically they did me a favor by sending it. There was more she said but didn't make much sence but just an excuse why they are not willing to do any exception on it, but they can only provide me with 20% of discount for my next visit but im loosing whole value of expired groupon. not only their manager is unprofessional but i view it as a direct violation of consumer rights read more

Unfortunately today I showed up to get my massage and once again it was not with the therapist I scheduled it with. My husband also had a massage scheduled for tomorrow with Andrea, but when I asked to confirm they had not changed his therapist as well, I was informed he was with van. This has now happened to us on three separate occasions. We schedule our massages months in advance so we can get the therapists we like and this apparently means nothing. The young man who works at the front desk and who we text massage appointments to seems to be making mistakes or else there are scheduling changes that we are not informed about. We have purchased 15 massages (3 packs of 5) from here but are not going to renew again given the frustration with scheduling. Cancelled my appointment twice!!!! I bought a couples massage off Groupon for Daily calm . After revealing the code to confirm my appointment daily calm canceled the first time saying my therapist has to get the flu shot. So I was offered the next day. After Leaving the house half way there on the freeway I get a text canceling my appointment again. All they told me was please understand we are following strict rules from the county . What does any type of rules have to do with my appointment being cancelled twice. If you cannot accommodate couples then do not offer it !!! Very unprofessional!!! Very inconvenient!!!
