We went to a couple of different Dahls! We went to Wall, Rapid City, Hill City, and then the Keystone one. The items for sale are pretty similar from one location to the other, but each location has a unique big item to draw you in and fun things to take pictures with. The jackalope in Wall and giant Bigfoot in Keystone were our favorites. Rapid City had the biggest selection and we saw the owner doing some carving there! This is very unique and definitely worth checking out!

It is located in downtown Keystone South Dakota. Just around the corner from Mount Rushmore. We've always wanted to get a bear last year when we were here he started to get one and decided against it and regretted it till this year and we both got something Hubby got a bear that says welcome - but when you turn the sign around it says go away. He knows that I like gnomes so he got me one carved from a stump. They have three locations Keystone- Hill City and Deadwood. The location in Keystone has a huge big foot and the location in Hill City has a smoky the bear. Just want to give Eric shout out for making the gnome he is so cute.

There are lots of things to buy and some are very expensive. Not being a connoisseur of chainsaw art I don't know how to judge the items - but the Big Foot was outstanding and that must have taken some effort. I think the service would have been good if we asked questions as they must love making sales. There is a little bit of parking available. I will say we drove past again at 5.00am in the dark and Big Foot looked magnificent. There was not one around and it would have been a better photo op than in the daylight.

Bigfoot!!!

The Farmer's Daughter

My husband and I spent oodles of dollars there over the years. I have since moved from the area, and on a recent visit "back home," I was dismayed at the changes to what used to be a charming little store, and a real gem in the Black Hills. The business was recently sold, and the new owners have turned it into a pitiful version of the charming business it was for years and years. They got rid of all of the vintage antiques. They now devote almost half of the store to fabric and quilting supplies. It's ironic that they carry such a vast amount of kitschy made-in-China crap, especially when so much of it touts ultra-right conservative, "patriotic" sentiment. I left the store feeling disappointed, offended, and just downright sad. Because I still have family in the Black Hills, I will come back often for visits, but will never spend another dollar in the store I once loved.

This place is worth the stop when racing through Hill City. If her signs don't bring laughs to your…read morebelly, you might consider making an appointment with a therapist! We bought a slightly off-color placard, and while chatting with the proprietor, learned that the saying was something her husband's grandmother used to say. Stop by and get the whole story!
