Kari's Rating 9.5/10…read more We stopped here on our way up north. We also getting gas. This cute quaint little bakery has everything from reds to rolls to custards to doughnuts. It was so cute and family owned-I asked the woman working what's the most popular item and she said the caramel rolls. So of course I had to grab one of those. I also got the banana, walnut bread, A, custard filled doughnut with chocolate dollops on top, a glazed doughnut and an apple fritter. The custard chocolate glazed donut was perfect. As someone who is not a really big chocolate fan, these dollop of chocolate were perfectly spaced, and just gave the slightest hint of decadence. The caramel roll, wow I can definitely see how this is the most popular item at the bakery. You could tell the caramel sauce with slow roasted, and made from real butter. It was absolutely perfect. It was not as sweet as you think it would be as it didn't taste like there was a syrup, rather than a handmade almost butterscotch flavor to the caramel. I'm so happy the woman inside recommended this one! To learn that this bakery is just a one off family owned restaurant, made it that much more special. Everything I got there was absolutely incredible and wow. I'm so lucky to have been driving up this way on my vacation! Hopefully it won't be the last time I ever come here, but if it is-please bury me with that custard doughnut.

No trip to Hinckley is complete without a stop at Tobies Restaurant & Bakery. For generations, it…read morehas been a must-visit destination for travelers heading, making it much more than just a restaurant. It's a Minnesota tradition. As soon as I announced I was going to Hinckley everyone who had been told me I just had to try Tobie's. What makes Tobies special is the combination of comfort food, an incredible bakery, and the nostalgic feeling that comes with walking through the doors. Fresh-baked breads, pastries, pies, cookies, and their famous caramel rolls line the bakery shelves, while their signature cornbread is a favorite that many visitors take home. Be sure to browse the gift shop, where you'll find locally made products, snacks, and their popular popcorn blends that make great road trip treats or souvenirs. Whether you're stopping for breakfast before exploring the area, grabbing lunch on your way to a Hinckley Knights game, or picking up baked goods for the drive home, Tobies is part of the experience. Our favorites were the apple fritter and the caramel roll. We also picked up bread and English muffins. If we had any more room we would have tried the ice cream, but there is always next time.

First time in Lindstrom, and was with a group that was excited to meet up for coffee at Lindstrom…read morebakery! Street parking available on this quaint, small downtown main drag. The interior is fairly basic, although it is clean and tidy. With plenty of natural light, wooden accents, and vaguely Scandanavian decor, it's a lovely spot to meet up with small groups. They also have a few patio tables. The staff were friendly and helpful during our visit. The offerings range from traditional swedish and Scandanavian desserts to more American donuts. If you're into something sweet, there's likely something for you here. I was missing a savory pastry option, which was what I was craving! I didn't indulge in any coffee during this visit! The Cinnamon Bun was delicious!

Well known as the town with the teapot water tower just north of Forest Lake. Along with a tasty lunch in Chisago. Places and things we checked out included lots of cute local shops and of course some sweet treats! @thelindstrombakery was worth the trip on its own We tried a variety of things and got some take home goodies. Swedish Almond Cookies (so. darn. good. Had to get some for later) ALL of their donuts were so fresh and light. Highly recommend getting yourself here for treats. Each item we tried was accompanied by slow chewing, serious glances and closed eyes of bliss. Uffdah what a fun day! Hoping everyone can find some Hygge in your days.
