They need to sort out getting some aircon in though, boy was it hot! And the wallpaper section was pretty poor with none actually on show just lots of books, but hey you can't do it all. The woman in the wardrobe section was very very pushy, her manner alone was enough to put me off, but all the other staff were very helpful, particularly the lovely lady by the sofas! It sound like I didn't like this place and I really did, just didn't really fill my specifications for the day. Did see some little stools I really liked though. Didn't try the cafe but looked nice. They have a large selection of display pieces that can easily be £500, however there is also a great deal of Scandinavian glassware that is affordable and great for wedding presents and special birthdays. Infact you can even find interesting gifts for as little as £12. The staff are really friendly and helpful too. Worth popping in!

They have a lot of discounted toiletries too, same stuff as in the supermarkets but alot of the time is half the price. The worst experience of my life was ordering from Wilko's, I invertedly ordered 2 gazebos by…read moremistake due to not receiving a confirmation email and thinking my order had not gone through so placed another order, still no order confirmation all evening. the next morning I checked my bank and saw there was 2 transactions for the two orders, so they had actually been placed and still no order confirmations. I contacted Wilkos who indeed said they had a record of two orders even though I had no confirmations I explained I only wanted one and could I cancel one. They said due to their speedy dispatch that both orders had already left and I would have to refuse delivery of one gazebo to be refunded for one. I still get no delivery notification and then by chance while emailing Wilkos they tell me that my order is out for delivery that day, I rush home from work to wait for the delivery so I can refuse delivery of one of them. When the delivery arrives the courier only has one box from each gazebo and said the other boxes had not been dispatched, I refused delivery as told by Wilkos of one of the boxes and kept the other. Waited till the next morning still no notification of the other boxes arriving so contact Wilko's to be told the other boxes have not been sent to the courier yet. All in all I have had a nightmare with Wilko's so only got half of one Gazebo and been charged £709 twice, all in all I am ready for a breakdown. NEVER AGAIN WILL I USE WILKO

They sell garden things (patio furniture etc) as well as screws, lightbulbs and all the other bits and pieces you might need for your home. The DIY section can be quite useful if you don't have a car to visit the larger out of town superstores and the prices are usually less than similar items in other high street shops. There are a limited number of tills in the Chester store so you may have to queue for a while, and there is no way to leave the store without going through the till area so even if you decide the queue is too long, it may take you a while to get out again. The shop is fairly clean, although has the smell that these places usually attract; a combination of bathroom and garden products which isnt very attractive but is understandable.

We were delayed in getting to Stoke because of train problems, but we managed to get here before they closed at 4 pm. It's only a couple of kilometers from the station, so it was a quick ride. We stopped at the café first as we were famished. They were at the end of their lunch service, but they still had some tomato soup, so we settled on that, a slice of sponge cake, and a couple of bottles of Elderflower Presse. The tomato soup was great. It didn't have cream, so definitely better for my tummy. It was piping hot too! The cake was perfect--moist and not too sweet even with that thin layer of jam. So glad they had Belvoir's Elderflower Presse. That and Fever Tree's Ginger Beer are favorites of mine. We shopped at both the regular store, and their "seconds" (imperfect pieces) store. As I'm traveling light (carry-on and backpack only), I got something small. I got a trio of egg stands from their regular shop, and a Christmas plate from their seconds shop. My friend also got a few things. Almost all her pottery are hand made, but all of them are hand-decorated. It's good to know that not all pottery is made in China!

You're charged for the piece of pottery you want to bake, and you can choose from several different pieces of biscuit from egg cups and mugs, to large platters and enormous tea pots. You're given a quick break down, and you can pencil and hand paint your own design, or use the selection of cute shape and letter stamps. Whilst you're there, there's also a lovely little coffee shop inside, where you can enjoy messy mugs of marshmallow topped hot chocolate inside, or decent coffee, which they will bring over to your table for you to quaff whilst you're creating. They'll tell you when your pieces will be glazed and fired, and if you're local, you can pick up, and if not, posted out in stacks of card and bubble wrap.

The pretty sulk scarfs overhang the banisters and the brick walls are covered in collages and paintings for sale. They have a good choice of porcelain, jewellery, bronze and leather goods for men and women. I don't really think there is anything for children there, but otherwise worth a look!

Every time I've popped in, the little local exhibitions have been great, and always stuff that's really beautiful and has taken time and talent to produce- not any ridiculous ponce that's no more than a BS concept (sorry, not my taste). In the back left corner, there's a little shop of handmade goods, pottery, ornaments, jewellery, textiles, all local and beautifully made, they also have some lovely cards about too. Whether you just want a look around before you head for a burger in the market vaults, or you need to buy something for someone arty or awkward, this may well be the place for you!
