Tips: - This store is the pickup location for Bimini…read moresweatshirt orders. - Parking is free for an hour on Bingham Avenue. I'm digging up the past and bringing it to the present. So weird! I grew up in the Beaches. I lived on Queen Street East. Approximately three blocks west of where I lived, on the other side of the street, was a store called Bimini in the Beaches. It sold casual clothing. The item that I saw peers in high school wear was a sweatshirt with the iconic brand name in pink embroidery. I always wanted a Bimini sweatshirt. I liked the handwriting that was embroidered. I liked that it represented folks in the neighbourhood who liked casual, comfortable sweatshirts. I was never into trendy clothes as a teen. However, I did love this sweatshirt. I will admit that I was more into stationery stores and music more! Bimini closed its flagship store in 1993. It was synonymous with the Beaches. Although many call it the Beach these days, I can't. There's more than one beach here. This sweatshirt always went with the plural, which I love. Joshua Biodans, the son of the original owners, his parents, Uldis and Marilee, has resurrected Bimini. He offered two sweatshirts in the exact cut and dyeing techniques that his parents did when they opened their store in the late 70's. I saw the purple sweatshirt with pink embroidery for the brand name and had to get one. It was in colours that I love so much. I got word that I could pick it up at Design Nest starting yesterday. It's a part of Shea Sells Boutique. Here's the interesting twist. Shea Sells Boutique has staging items for selling homes, from plates to set your tables, to throw pillows to spruce up your sofa. Shea is Shea Warrington. She is a realtor for Royal LePage. You know what's wild? Were were in grade 8 extended French together. We also attended the same high school. It explains Malvern that you could make out under the welcome mat outside the store. Small world, huh? We had different interests in high school. She was into drama and fashion shows. I was into math, music, and languages. We knew of each other, but we didn't hang out. I was at this store to pick up my Bimini sweatshirt. The store opened at 4 pm. I got there after the start time, as I ended up getting some takeout from Yamz a few doors down. The door to this store was closed. I looked over and saw Joshua locking his bike. I introduced myself. He apologized for being late riding from downtown over here. I let him do his thing, which included getting the key to the door. He then let me in to the store. Frankly, I was in no rush. It was nice staying a bit longer in my old neighbourhood, a few blocks away from my high school. Shea is his new friend, who was graciously offered this space for his sweatshirt distribution. Two of his sweatshirts were hanging from the store's front display. Joshua was such a nice person to chat with. He let me know that there's another person who is selling jam or something. I'm not sure how it works if you want to buy other items here. I just know that for the Bimini sweatshirts, you buy online. You then have the option to pick up your order here or have it shipped to you. I got to see the sweatshirts in boxes. It was cool seeing the behind-the-scenes details. I'm not fussy with display stuff. I got my sweatshirt in my size. He was also great giving me stickers from his two businesses. I commented on the high quality of the stickers. I should know because my put stickers on my laptop covers. This habit happened during the pandemic and it has stuck. His stickers will go on my laptops soon. I wore the sweatshirt when I got home. It fits nicely. It is oversized by default, so I like how roomy it is. Bimini in the Beaches is back. As someone who grew up walking past this store countless times, be it to go to elementary school, or to get groceries with my mom, it's nice bringing nostalgia back to 2025 and wearing it! (451)

IF YOU WANT GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT IT IS NOT RIGHT PLACE TO GO!…read more The most terrible experience. I ordered countertop for my kitchen at the end of April of 2019. Yes, you are not mistaken, almost 1 year ago. At very beginning everything looked great. They sent technician to take measurements. He arrived on time with expensive equipment and unfortunately it was the last positive experience. There is list of what happened: 1. With all the expensive equipment measurements were taken wrong. Counter didn't fit the space, as a result when we didn't see installers cut drywall with all the vapor barrier (it is outside wall) and slide counter inside... I asked why they did it, answer was great - it didn't fit... I asked who will be taking care of damaged wall - answer they don't care and i am too picky... 2. There is was chip on the connection in between 2 slabs of the counter. I called the office, they sent somebody (guy name is Albert) for investigation. The Albert was amazing as well. his 1st answer was just excellent. He told me "Nothing is perfect in this life"... When you spent a lot of money for the defective counter it is exact type of answer you want to get... After almost 2 hours of arguing he promised to come to fix the issue. Unfortunately this promise was just a way to get out. As i mentioned at very beginning of my review counter was installed end of April of 2019 and today is Apr-6, 2020. As of today nobody came to fix the issue. I was calling this company multiple times and they always were promising to come in a month. As of now it is almost 12 months since the first promise... I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE. IF YOU WANT GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT IT IS NOT THE RIGHT PLACE TO GO!
