Of the different "by kilo" and open buffet places I've tried in Rio, this is one of the tops. For me that is even more meaningful in an area like Centro where nearly every lunch place falls into one of those two categories.
First things first, this is a Portuguese restaurant. Sure there were plenty of Brazilian-style dishes, but I think the fact that there were at least 5 cod dishes says it all. I tried a little bit of everything: cod, duck rice, chicken breast, salad, ham and cheese, etc. Although some dishes were better than others, there weren't any dishes that truly disappointed me.
The only downside is that the place is a little on the pricy side, but for an all you can eat buffet, that is to be expected. Luckily they had a special going on for women so my wife got her meal for nearly half the price.
Worth a visit if you're in Centro. read more
