We just had a lunch there as perfect as they come, and the price was surprisingly low. No detail was wrong. The noise level was so low in that high-ceilinged room that quiet conversation was easy; the young woman who served our table was pleasant, helpful, and efficient. I chose one of the set menus (a true bargain, and each course delicious!) my husband designed a pizza., and raved about it. The long menu tempted us to come back soon (and looking for the restaurant's menu on the web is what let me to this website; when I saw no one had reviewed this excellent place I began what is my first restaurant review. The restaurant is described as child-friendly and I believe it is, although I should add for the sake of adult diners who don't want to be annoyed by the behavior of children whose parents are inattentive that the atmosphere as a whole is so serene that the scattering of children we saw there were without exception beautifully-behaved: they wanted to be as civilized as the adults around them. The only child I saw leave her seat during the meal was the charming small girl lunching with her grandmother on the terrace, their table separated from ours only by glass so that I could easily observe her. While the two were waiting for their first course the child wandered quietly to the nearby edge of the terrace to look at the street scene below (the restaurant, reached by an escalator, is far enough from the street to offer a tranquil setting for its terrace, and when we first entered we thought of choosing a table out there ourselves, but decided not to for fear that area would not be smoke free. Perhaps we made a mistake although smoking may be allowed there, none of the those lunching there that I could see (and I had a good view of a the terrace tables from my seat) was smoking; I checked.
I'll continue my search of the internet now that I have found my way to the restaurant's name and address to see if the restaurant has a website showing their dinner menu. (I neglected to ask for a card when we left after a leisurely meal with much better food that we dared expect - my bargain menu started with parma ham with melon, and ended with a delicious slice of a torte devised with thin layers of tender cake and generous layers of air-light mousse various flavors . The main course was just as good as those I started and ended with, and our server brought a slice of my dessert for my husband, so he wouldn't be left out!! How can we not want to return to try their dinners?
We hope for a leisurely dinner there soon, with plenty of time to make a la carte choices. I hope the wine list is as well-priced in the evening as the one at lunch was we couldn't resist sharing a bottle of rose, something we had not planned to do! read more
