No problem, inside were many free tables, but by 8 pm, the place was absolutely full. Not bad for a Sunday night. It took a while, before we were approached for our order, but then everything came out pretty quickly. Unfortunately, they even brought out the appetizers and main course at the same time. I had ordered a tomato soup and spaghetti, so I had to wolf down the soup to get to the pasta while it was still warm. But everything turned out yummy and warm enough :-) The waiter was very apologetic and my whole table got complimentary espressos after the meal. Very sweet! The food is amazing, btw. Small menu, but a little something for everybody. And the bread is the B O M B.

We were surprised to see how packed it was in the front patio dining. We were initially told no, we couldn't eat because we didn't have a reservation but then they said "unless sitting inside is ok?" Yes! They warned us the service might be slow but they wasn't the case. The food was outstanding. My husband had a gyro plate and I had a lamb shoulder. The bread was homemade and everything was just delicious. The outside patio is lovely but so is the inside. If you're in the vicinity, check this place out for excellent Greek fare!

The quality of food here is really good, the staff are friendly and the service is great. I usually order a dish with Gyros, but I do try to order something different now & again. The layout of the restaurant is really nice and I love sitting outdoors in the summer.

Normally I would be the designated person to look for local restaurants, but this time my husband found this one. He made a reservation for Friday, April 17, 2026 for dinner. We loved our meal there and highly recommend it. I believe my husband had the grilled ribeye steak and he ate every last bit. I ordered the fresh linguini with black truffle and I absolutely loved that. The negronis were great too. One of the chefs brought us a complimentary appetizer before our main course as well. My fiancée is here for work, and had a big event last night lasting until around 10pm. I looked everywhere to find a kitchen open later and found this spot on Google saying 1am. Our hotel concierge called and they said their kitchen would close at 11 but made a 10:30 reservation. When we arrived we thought for sure they were closed but the staff (no one else inside) warmly greeted us and told us not to rush or to worry, all was well and they would happily take care of us. Thus proceeded the next hour and a half of excellent and kind service by a team who clearly really care. We ordered drinks, appetizers, an entree to share, and dessert with coffee. The chef himself brought us an amuse-bouche and our entree and spoke to us about how we found the place and mentioned they had opened just prior to COVID, struggled for a bit, but were now starting to do well. I'm so happy for them, the food was excellent, it was clear they all cared very much about great service, ambiance, and taste. They deserve to thrive. We tried a grilled goat cheese with truffle honey on a marinated beetroot carpaccio. This was very good! We split a fish entree - a generous portion of grilled whitefish with a tomato barley risotto with broccolini and a mustard vinaigrette. Sooo good! We loved this plate. Finished the meal with fresh coffee and cappuccino and a serving of tonka bean creme brûlée with a ragout of fresh berries. Seriously delicious creme brûlée, perfect texture and taste and the coffee was absolutely delicious. The restrooms are clean, it's in a prime location in a very nice part of town, and we haven't had service this good anywhere else. Our server was so kind, at no point tried to rush us, and even brought me my coat and helped me put it on at the end of the meal. Do not hesitate, in fact, run here! Istra is actually a Croatian restaurant, and they specialize in seasonal grilled seafood and truffle pasta. There is no standard menu - more a choice of 1, 2 or 3 course meal. The star is their fish platter which consisted of grilled fish, grilled calamari and shrimps, over a head of mixed root vegetables. The owners don't speak a lot of English but they were very hospitable. I highly recommend reading through their websites before going so you know what to expect. Now the food. Spectacular is the only word that came to mind. First time we just had the fish platter for 2 and shared between 3 people. A luxurious platter with 2 perfectly pan-fried fish, 2 shrimps in shell and 2 grilled baby calamari on a bed of carrots, squash, zucchini and mushrooms magically turned up at the table. The seasoning is basic but perfect. A complementary basket of bread also came with the meal and house white wine paired very well with the seafood fair. It was so good we went back for lunch again the next day. This time we also ordered their truffle pasta. The white truffle on the pasta was epic - appetizer size was obly €18!! I dare say the same size with black truffle in NY would have put us back at around 30 bucks and nowhere as much truffle that was on the plate. Istra seafood restaurant was a refuge from all the meat-oriented restaurants during my week trip in Austria. Started with a tuna carpaccio topped with light olive oil, sea salt and fresh ground pepper. Main dish was a fresh white fish grilled to perfection with a side of savory veggies to pair. Meal paired perfectly with Austrian table wine which was recommended by the waiter. Absolutely delicious, wonderful waiter and happy I took my hotels' recommendation to eat at Istra.
