I highly recommend Paul Weisser to anyone who is looking for an editor. He is thorough and, unlike…read moreother editors I had tried, doesn't write what he wants, but polishes your writing to make it read the way you intended. I first met Paul eighteen years ago, after seeing his ad in a local newspaper. At the time, I had a book all written and desperately needed an editor. I had already tried several, but all they wanted to do was rewrite the entire manuscript--by themselves. So, I called Paul, fully thinking that I would end up with another deadbeat editor. But Paul was different. And his approach to editing was different. First, he was not judgmental about my work, and second, he explained how we--not just he--would edit the book. He downloaded my manuscript into his Mac, and with me sitting at his terminal next to him (this was before the power of the modern internet), he proceeded to read the manuscript out loud to me. With this method, he located the dangling participles, misplaced modifiers, and non sequiturs. He asked me questions as we went along, to clarify thoughts, events, and stories, and together we corrected the manuscript as we went along. Once we were done, the book was still my book, but one sentence flowed into the other, and each paragraph correctly followed the preceding one, building one complete, coherent chapter after another. In the end, I had a book that was not only published, but it went on to win a major literary award. Paul and I have just completed editing my second book, and I couldn't be happier with the results. I sent the manuscript to a New York Times best-selling author to see if it passes muster. "Your book not only passes muster," he wrote back, "it is a beautifully written, meticulously researched, and compulsively readable work of history." I think that just about says it all in terms of what Paul Weisser can help you to achieve with your writing project. Henry Dominguez Author: "Edsel Ford & E. T. The economy is bad, people are losing their jobs and unemployment rates are rising! Are we heading in a recession? Who knows. But what I do know is I got a referral to Rubicon in Berkeley from EDD (Employment Development Department), as I persisted to find someone/program to help me. Here at Rubicon they offer a WIA (Workforrce Investment Act) funded program. They have 3 steps to complete to be assigned to a vocational counselor. These 3 steps are offered at certain times on Tues and Thursday (Orientation at 10, Interviewing/Job search at 11, and Resume step at 1pm). Once you completed these steps- workshops that you get signed off that you attended, you make an appointment with a one of their vocational counselor. I just finished my steps in these past 2 weeks and already made an appointment with a vocational counselor to enroll. Jocelyn who covered for Melba, was very helpful, courteous during the intake. Although it takes about 8 weeks to see if I am eligible, I can keep in contact with her. Once I am determined to be eligible and if I haven't found a job yet (or I do find a job) I have a year to use their services, which includes training...basically there are certain Adult schools, other programs, and on the job training that will pay. So, I am looking forward to updating my computer skills in Excel and Powerpoint, etc. Cross your fingers I find a job! Thank you Rubicon for your help! check out www.eastbayworks.com or www.rubiconworksprograms.org oh yeah- there are several different Rubicons, this one in Berkeley serves only Alameda county residents, or people who had jobs in Alameda but lost it.....so check out different the Rubicon in your county

I had never worked with one before and didn't know what to expect. I found Meredith on LinkedIn and set up a sample call after reading more on her website about her values and coaching style. I knew very quickly that working with Meredith was going to be transformative in my job search process. Not only did she support practical and logistical aspects of my process (interview prep, resume review), but she helped me slow down, zoom out, go deeper, and work with the wisdom in myself and in my body. Coaching with Meredith was so much more than I expected - I really dove into some healing boundary work and body awareness work. In 7 sessions I had accepted a job offer, but also had deepened my self-trust and processed some of the grief that coincided with my journey. Meredith is insightful, brilliant, encouraging, and felt like such a safe person with whom to dive into the vulnerabilities of transition.

She gave my son the most considerable support. The competition is fierce for Asian male engineering students, and she helped my son create the strongest application possible. My son has already been accepted into an Ivy League university and another Top 10 University.
