    Fun necklace

Fun bed store. Lots of variety. Come here for your Tahitian pearls. Beads and complete jewelry for sale. High end and economical items available. Bead making supplies.

Service - Great experience. Took a class with my daughter. Helpful and friendly staff. Would take again. Price - fair for Hawaii. Some prices even better than the Mainland.

A wave charm on a finished chain. Tools are available to use! All the supplies are there to purchase.

Everytime I stop in I get the service I need! A fabulous woman named Monvelia told me about her jewelry making class and I took it! Now I can solder :-) I brought in a little one to pick out a birthday charm necklace and we made it right there in the shop for under $10. A gift and an experience! When I need a quick gift they have beautiful showcases of ready to go jewelry made by different Made in Hawaii artists. It's a go-to for DIY, gift shopping, and unexpected treasures.

My Mother-in-law and I had so much fun at the 'make and take' this afternoon! Monvelia taught us how to bead and wire wrap beautiful coin pearl earrings and she made it an awesome experience for us amateurs. I will definitely be returning for more tips and tricks and make and takes!

These beads are fuzzy and neat.

A coworker of mine collects beads and makes beautiful earrings out of them. I wanted to find something Hawaiian to bring back for her. da Bead Shop stocks exactly what I had in mind! I ended up with little some lava rock beads which scream Big Island and some shell beads that were just interesting in the way they had been cut and the color. However, the crown jewel was the mgambo tree beads. This tree is originally from Africa but is also found on Big Island and has seeds that are fuzzy and velvety. The shop had some that had been made into cute little fuzzy beads! I fell and love with them and my coworker seemed very amused by them as well. This place can't be beat for unique beads. If you are the creative type, I recommend you stop by and see what they have in stock. Parking is free!

What a great find! I visited this shop with four teen aged girls who immediately wanted to make bracelets as a remembrance of their vacation. Jan and her daughter were so helpful and the girls were thrilled with their creations. A wonderful selection allowed each girl to express her style. And a welcome break from the sun and surf!

One of my favorite things about neighbor islands are their mom and pop shops. These kind of shops…read morehave been a fixture in these neighborhoods for many years and have been passed down from generation to generation. During my trip to the Big Island I went to check out this shop for the very first time. I didn't know what to expect when I went to the shop but they had a variety of things. They had hairpicks made from koa, hat pins, leis to adorn lauhala hats, as well as an array of handmade lauhala crafts. Compared to the marked up items sold in Honolulu these items were priced affordably and you could tell by looking at the items that they were made locally vs the made in the Philippines crafts frequently sold around town. The Aunty in the shop was very knowledgeable and helpful. She could even tell you who made each item in her shop. If you're interested in lauhala crafts I'd suggest visiting this local shop. There's another lauhala store in Hilo however this one has more local items and are more affordable.
