However, this has not directly impacted students as of yet. Approved classes being offered are dwindling, but each department has their strengths and weaknesses. I had no issue getting courses to complete my Communication and Business degree due to some finagling with my department chairs. If I did not have that relationship, I would not have been able to fulfill both my degree paths. In addition, I was a transfer student, and it was not completely explained to me that I would have to take 2 religion, and 2 philosophy courses on top of fulfilling all of the capstones. That information should be communicated far better than it was, as I am still writhing because that cost me an additional $20K. I guess that is why the gentleman that put my transfer package together is no longer with Canisius. Overall, most of my professors were stellar; specifically Dr. Dahlberg, Dr. Braunscheidel, and Dr, Haselswerdt. As well, I loved all of my courses with Prof. Nancy Lynch, Prof. Rick English, and Dr. Foster. Having those amazing educators/professors on staff saved me from transferring again after an initial disappointing semester with a few adjuncts and tenured staff. I can only speak with ethos to the Communication, Business & Political Science Department, but if you are thinking of attending Canisius in one of those concentrations, do it. As well, the Athletic teams are stellar. I even did crew for a bit, but found I did not have the time to dedicate to it. So, if you are thinking of attending Canisius for athletics. Definitely do as well. As well, take Business Ethics PHI242 (it fulfills a business & philosophy requirement, but also the ethics attribute) with Dr. Sean Donaghue-Johnston (he is an adjunct, but let me tell you, and amazing one). He's absolutely fantastic, you'll learn a lot, and expand your mind a bit, which never actually hurts :) I've taken one star off for the transfer process, and the $ issues, but feel I received a stellar education due to the folks I mentioned above. Go Griffs!!

It's unfortunate that I have to even give the university one star. They don't deserve it. All I said in my last 2 posts is I was disappointed in the university's speeches for the graduation that we attended a couple weeks ago. I feel politics has no place in a commencement speech. Parents are there to support their kids and watch them graduate. It is not up to the university to push its opinion on the attendees.

I wish I could be a student here." Then I became one last fall and I am so deeply proud of this place. I've had the most wonderful instructors, made great friends with incredibly educated individuals, and I'm loving the free discarded books outside of the library! LOL. There's knowledge everywhere in this building. There are free workshops, an amazing (and cheap!) restaurant located on the second floor, and freebies all over the bulletin boards. As a proud student of ECC, I can honestly say that studying has never been more enjoyable. P.S. PLEASE VISIT THE STATLER DINING ROOM! Their prices really are unbeatable. Their food is also made with vegetables and herbs that they grew THEMSELVES in a garden by Canalside, and I'm sure many of you have seen it already! They're cash only by the way, so make sure to bring cash!
