A few companies responded. One company was booked until September while another company declined. A third company was able to show up the same day to measure and provide an estimate. MacVane Electrical was the fourth company to reply but was the quickest to provide an estimate after I texted pictures of the circuit boxes as well as an approximate distance. I was hesitant due to lack of online reviews. Phil (Sr.) quickly responded in the same evening with an estimate as well as a commitment to show up the next day to do the work. Phil (Jr) arrived the next day (Tuesday) as promised along with Ray, and both got the work done in about 2 hours. Both are super nice guys. Turns out Phil and his father started the company just 6 months ago, hence there are few to no reviews online. They are friendly, clean, and thoroughly explained the work that needed to be done. Phil Jr was so thorough that after he finished and left, he called the sauna company to verify the type of plug the sauna required. He then came back an hour or so later to replace the receptacle to the correct type. We needed a cable line installed on the second floor of our condo. What we thought would be an easy…read moretask ended up being quite complex.When the electrician saw that installing the cable would require several cuts in the wall to snake the cable, he called in John for a second opinion of the plan before moving forward (which we greatly appreciated!). We decided to move forward with snaking the cable and the electrician did a great job carefully cutting the holes to cause as little damage as possible. At the end of the job he carefully screwed the cut drywall back in place, was true to the quote, and we had TV in our living room - overall it was a win. However, when we went to patch the holes we noticed a small nick in our water pipe in the basement where the electrician cut the drywall. Luckily it was only a nick and it didn't damage the pipe - but it sure was a close one! In addition, at the end of the job when we were taking care of the bill the electrician told us that the job should have cost more money, which, as a customer with a credit card in hand, we weren't sure how to respond, it was just a bit awkward. It's only a small thing, but it's the small things that stick with customers and create repeat business. I would still use Safe and Sound Electric again and would recommend to others, but we would likely request a different electrician on their team.
