The service is very friendly. The food came to our table quickly. There was karaoke Thursday night when we visited. THAT was entertaining and hilarious! I didn't have pizza so, I can't speak on that, but husband said it was better than other places. I had appetizers. The two combo and three combo apps that included fried mozzarella, fried zucchini and fried mushrooms. They were a bit overdone but they were ok. Came in with some coworkers. We were in for a conference. So decided to come to this location after looking at some of the Reviews. As soon as we walked in, I thought there might have been a problem because we were the only customers in there.We sat down at one of the tables. The bartender walked over to us, took our order.And I decided to order a small pizza that looked like a medium. Pizza took about fifteen to twenty minutes to come out. For a minute, I was hesitant that the pizza was gonna be any good.But when it came out, I was pleasantly surprised that it actually looked good and tasted good.It wasn't too expensive. This is kind of like a dive joint for good pizza. The menu has plenty of options, and the prices are pretty reasonable. The inside has lots of various seating options and they had a live musician playing and singing music in the evening. We were there on a very busy night and the waitress was overwhelmed with customers, but still did a pretty good job taking care of everyone. The man working was very nice and respectful when I picked up the pizza. However, the pizza wasn't very good; it was soggy and the crust wasn't baked all the way through. The side salads were lettuce, tomato and onions and was decent. It's hard to get to when it's in the evening the location is right by the Ferris wheel and all those activities. The food is awesome. Service is great. People are always nice. The ambiance is nice and it's on South Padre Island so it's close to the beach. We always get the cheese pizza cause it's the best. I went with a friend on a Wednesday afternoon. We sat down to a mostly dead restaurant and were nicely greeted. We ordered two adult beverages and ordered a large pepperoni pizza. Drinks were cold and approximately 15 minutes later, the pizza came out. It looked very mediocre and cheese was not fully melted. Nevertheless, we both had two slices. The cheese was very lackluster and had little to no flavor. The same can be said for the pizza sauce. We truly thought the pizza was straight out of a Red Barron box. The pizza tasted like Torino's frozen pizza from Walmart. It was really bad. Dirty restaurant too. They just don't care. No pride or work ethic at all. Just lazy and half-assing everything. It looks like it used to be a really fun place maybe 30 years ago. Maybe the pizza was good too. Somewhere along the way, they lost it. It happens. This place has potential. Imagine if you will that you live on or near the island. It's beautiful year long. Surfing, fishing, sailing, hunting, bird watching or whatever makes you happy - South Padre Island is a little slice of paradise. Imagine you live around there and have this perfect life. Work hard and play hard. But, there's this pizza joint. You go inside and escape from paradise and enjoy a new type of fun. Sports on the flat screens. Hot pizza pies coming out of the ovens. Cold pitchers of beers. Arcade games. Freaking merriment. Then, you leave and are back in the subtropical sportsman paradise beach town. Still in the good ole USA but close to our friends in Mexico. I love Pizza!! Pizza= Life. The pizza here was good. It is a small little place but the food is delicious. You can order a personal pizza and put whatever toppings you want on any pizza. I am simple and just like pepperoni with Jalapeños so that is what I ordered. The stuffed Jalapeño with seafood is a must try for sure. read more

I try to eat reasonably healthy whenever possible, and this extends to dining out. However, I am willing to indulge at times. For these indulgent eats, I always hope that the excess calories of saturated fat and carbs will at least be worth it. Sadly, this was not even remotely the case at this particular spot. Also, I look forward to an IPA, Belgian, local beer, or at least something other than Bud Light, Miller, etc. If you enjoy good beer, run! There was absolutely nothing palatable to drink here. Our meal consisted of a jumbo seafood stuffed jalapeño appetizer, the fried mushrooms, and their "D' Pizza Special" large pizza. We did make one modification on the pizza, and that was subbing jalapenos for the green bell peppers. I'll start with the appetizers: The fried mushrooms were just ok, but at least were made with fresh mushrooms (unlike the pizza). The seafood stuffed jalapeño resembled a giant hush puppy on steroids, and was dry and largely flavorless. The were only small pieces of jalapeño buried in the middle, rather than a single large jalapeno as one might expect with this sort of dish. Since I have been around good quality pizza my whole life, I do expect at least a minimum level of quality. Even so-so pizza would NOT warrant a negative review from me, as that is largely the norm. This has got to be one of the 5 worst pizza pie's I've ever tasted in my life. The foundation of a good pizza is the crust, and this one was awful. It could best be described as dry, flavorless, cracker-like, and definitely not fresh! The sauce was also lacking and was devoid of any redeeming quality. The worst offense of all though was putting canned mushrooms on a pizza. This is especially atrocious because they clearly have access to fresh mushrooms in their kitchen, as they use them for the fried mushrooms. I did appreciate the live piano music. However, due to the quality of the food, I cannot bring myself to give a rating of higher than 1 star. This is a tourist trap at its finest. Hopefully more people will realize what's in store for them here by careful reading the reviews. If the proprietor doesn't intend to vacate this space anytime soon, I hope at least that they change management and/or completely revamp their food and drink. read more
