They never check if everyone who joined a class actually signed up for it, so every class I went to was extremely full, with not enough equipment for everyone and no space to move around, making for a really awful experience (on top of the room being really hot!). I sent feedback many times in the hope things would get better but they never did, so I walked out during a class and cancelled my subscription. fed up.

Complete joke…read more When I arrived at 7.30, I heard the usual announcement that "the changing rooms would be locked down at midnight". I then tried to buy water but was promptly informed (twice) that the vending machine had not authorised my card. So far tolerable. Then some guy has the audacity to ask me to leave the gym immediately because the gym "closes at 8". He said they've been "trying to get rid of the announcement". I'd been hearing that announcement on repeat every evening for months, followed by the usual nonsense promotion about their stupid PT courses. You are "trying to get rid of it"? It's not malaria. Complete and utter joke of an establishment. Shambolic. Nevertheless, I left without fuss. When I was outside I took out my phone to book a Boris bike. My bank notification came through: I had been charged twice by the ****ing vending machine (the same one that had "not authorised" my transaction)....... Do not come to the London Wall Puregym.

This is a good, small university gym that is also open to the local public…read more The gym has two floors with the lower floor having resistance machines and a selection of free weights also a studio located at the back for Zumba, spins and other classes. The top flor has an array of cardiovascular machines such as the cross trainer, treadmill, rowing machines to name a few. What's really nice about this place is when you are working out upstairs on the cardio machines you really benefit from the beautiful view of goldsmith university playing fields on a nice summers day. If you are after a good fitness, toning and stamina then it will tick those boxes with ease. It is not so good for mass building/bulking and strength due to the limited selection of free weights and space, plus, there is no bench press or Olympic bar as you will have to settle for a smith machine instead. For £25 a month you can't really go wrong, also, upgrade your changing room and toilet.

To add on to a previous review, the price has now raised to £35 per month for members of the…read morepublic. At this price point, the gym really isn't delivering the value it should, especially given the number of budget 24 hour gyms popping up all across London. The gym is quite a cozy one, to describe it nicely, but if you are looking for toning/cardio, it is more than adequate. There are a number of free classes geared towards this. The gym has a more limited selection of machines and weights for strength training, but most of the time I haven't found myself unable to do a desired exercise. It can get quite busy in January, like most gyms, but once June starts, and the students have gone home, it can be much less crowded. The staff is quite friendly and casual, though you might have to knock on their office window to get them to staff the reception desk!

This had 2 large flumes, bubble beds, wave machine, large jacuzzi pool, beach style, short swim round the island and I remember using it a few times as the best pool we knew. Well, it was till the next year we discovered Waterfront in Woolwich and didn't go back. Last summer though we were looking for new flumes for my youngest daughter who was then aged eight and decided to go back so she could sample. Probably best not to revisit past loves. The first time we went after school practically everything was unavailable because the large swim school basically took over the whole pool. No slides, no wave machine, no bubble beds, no swim round the island (permanently gated off, jacuzzi pool broken - had been for a long time). Not much fun..... Gave it another chance though and went back on a Saturday morning.. The flumes were rubbish, the queues were the longest I have seen (bizarrely it had been like a massive scrum just to get in the centre - no idea why....)and you had to sit on a mat with a single water jet - not as they used to be.... Not a pool I will be visiting again but no doubt if we lived close I guess we would use it. The whole area was in the middle of a massive regeneration programme a year ago and they had just built a rather nice 25m lane pool which was great. Not sure if they have spent money on the leisure pool - there were rumours they were going to. The poolside showers were the worst I have ever experienced but I am guessing they have been sorted. I like the idea of the library being co-located with swimming pool - seems a good one to me. I know we would combine the two if we lived locally. I know we wont be back unless we hear the flumes have been refurbished and worth the visit.
