Do you see that beautiful little baby girl in the photos? Her name was Katniss Everdeen…read more On November 27th-28th we noticed that she wasn't eating or going to the bathroom, but she was still drinking water. My wife and I decided that we would take her in to have her checked out on Saturday the 29th. Once we were seen and finished telling the vet what was going on, the first words out of his mouth were; Well, we close at noon today, so we'll see what we can do. Red Flag #1 My wife and I left, because I had to take her to work, he said he would let us know what they find out. About an hour later I get a call from an assistant saying that they would like to do x-rays, bloodwork, etc. I said; Do it. About another hour went by and I get a 2nd call from the assistant saying that the vet would like to speak to me. He starts speaking like her life is over and yet she was just fine walking around drinking water, she just wouldn't go to the bathroom or eat. He started saying that she has chronic kidney failure. He would like to have her brought in every day to have fluids injected under her skin, but didn't want to do anything else. #Red Flag #2 On Sunday she was still walking around on her own, drinking out of her water bowl, but still not eating or using the bathroom. I let him know this on Monday when I brought her in for her under the skin fluid injection. He didn't seem to care, he just wanted to pawn her off onto the assistants to do the fluid injection and left the room. He was in the room maybe 10 seconds. Red Flag #3 Before leaving I asked the assistant if she would ask him how long he wants to do these injections under the skin, he wouldn't even come into the room to talk, he just told her; everyday until she's better. Red Flag #4 Brought her in on Tuesday December 2nd for another under the skin fluid injection. Told him the same thing, except this time I told him that she wasn't eating, drinking or using the bathroom now. All his response was; force her to eat/drink. He didn't want to check on anything else. Red Flag #5 That night, she was so weak that she couldn't even stand, she would try to get up, then just flop over. She just sat there, still being the lovey cat she's always been as I would pet her. That night I slept on the floor with her. I was laying next to her as she took her last breath and passed away just after 2am on December 3rd 2025 which hurts even more, because that morning and same time just happen to be my birthday. After doing some research and talking to some other places we found out that there could've been more done and her life could've been saved, she could've lived for years and years, but he just wanted to give her fluids under the skin and get her out of the office. They said more could've been done and she would've lived a longer life, if the right care would've been issued the FIRST TIME! I should've taken her somewhere else. I wish I would've taken her somewhere else. If I had only known that this VET really only cared about money, then I would have, but now we know. Besides not eating or going to the bathroom a lot, she was still running around the house playful as could be, like always. Let this be your warning, not your heartbreak. I miss my little monkey, she was my little peeker. She loved to lick my face/fingers to let me know that she was ready to crawl into bed under the covers, she loved to sleep in the bed with me (us) at night, she loved to play with her oven mitts in the middle of the night, she loved to open the utensil drawers to sit inside them while we slept, she loved hopping all over plastic shopping bags to hide inside of them, like a pile of leaves. Her favorite spot laying in the cat tree basket is now empty. Her favorite spot on the couch is now empty. Her favorite spot on the kitchen table is now empty. Her favorite spot on the bed is now empty. A piece of us is now gone. It hurts even more now knowing more could've been done, he just didn't want too. Congratulations Veterinarian Wilkins. You've let another loving pet die, because you just didn't have time. There just wasn't enough money to be made on this one. Folks, let this be your warning, not your heartbreak. I miss my little baby girl and I wouldn't be, if I would've just paid attention to the red flags.

At my very first visit to Warr Acres, the vet walked into the room, spent only seconds with my dog,…read moredidn't inspect him, didn't know his history, and immediately said he had bone cancer. That was my very first time there. He has never had bone cancer. For a vet to make such a serious claim so casually, without even examining my dog, was alarming and completely unprofessional. From that point forward, I only used Warr Acres for basic vaccines and grooming -- never for anything serious. Unfortunately, my most recent grooming visit showed me that even those basic services aren't handled with care. Perfume was applied to one of my dogs despite repeated instructions (noted in their file) -- my dog has allergies to perfume, and I always remind them when I call to book. Yet they still did it. One dog did not receive the requested teeth brushing, and there was also a minor sticky fur issue. Instead of acknowledging these mistakes, I was told I'd need to pay more just to have the "no perfume" instruction followed correctly. When I raised my concerns, Tina S., Practice Manager, was dismissive and rude. She said: "It seems we may not be the right fit for the level of service you're seeking. If not, we completely understand if you prefer to explore other providers better aligned with your needs." Rather than take responsibility, they refused to see my dogs again and tried to make it seem like I was the problem. My feedback was reasonable and respectful, yet it was brushed off as if I had no right to speak up. Tina was not kind at all, and her attitude was extremely unprofessional. Looking back, it's probably a good thing this happened -- no one should ever take their pets there. It's disgusting how they treat people and how they treat animals. And now I can't help but wonder what else was going on behind closed doors that I didn't know about. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Don't fall for the empty reply from Tina (or whoever responded). I've saved plenty of messages from her, and it's clear they're not interested and don't care. Anytime you try to discuss something with Tina, you'll get three or more different versions of the same subject. They're not sorry as they claim, they don't care, and they don't want to work things out.

I didn't realize til a year later they only charged for one pup due to the pandemic. We came back for their annual and today for a last minute nail trim. I didn't even know they were open. They just squeezed us in with an open appointment. I was actually on my way somewhere else to get their nails trimmed because they were just a little closer to home and said they would be open on a Saturday. Their sign was closed, and when they finally text back, they said they weren't opening today despite their social media post. I have not been to that place since because of their social media as well as my dogs not liking them - despite it being closer to home. So I called Woodlake. I already had my pups with me out running other errands. They have been amazing. One of my other dogs had passed, and we called to tell them. A week later, they mailed us a sympathy card. Great place. Everyone has been very kind and caring. We see whoever is available, and I have not had any issues with any of the vets there. First visit went well, 20-minute wait, but overall care for our dog was fabulous. Very reasonable fees too. Next trip was for meds only, unlike other vets, an appointment charge was not required. Another win! Unfortunately, today, less than an acceptable visit. stopped in at 11:23am, was told that all vets were at lunch, understandable, so non-issue. We purchased the needed meds, $439. An employee apologized that no vet was available but suggested we come back again at 1:30 pm. We did so, actually 1:15 pm. Two others were there before us, so not a huge time concern, plus I falsely assumed that been asked back at 1:30 pm from the no vet available at 11:30 am, we would have a priority attention. After waiting nearly 90 minutes, a long wait to be sure, but the frustration was that four other people came in after us, but were attended to before us? Their protocols and communication were very confsuing and seemingly inconsitantly enforced. A total wait time for the day nearly three hours. When I went to the check in counter expressing my confusion and dissatisfaction, then, miracuoulsy, they could "get me in" next. It was a frustrating experience, an unnecessary waste of time for me and very traumatic for our 14-year-old dog. She spent the same three hours shaking, shivering and fearful. Very unprofessional communication and concern today for us and our dog. Batting zero no, dropped from batting 1000, at best the clinic is a roll of the dice. Didn't live to the rave reviews I had heard about the clinic. Hence the maybe recommend rating.

While the staff is nice enough, the combination of administrative errors and a judgmental tone led me to take my business elsewhere. The Experience: I brought in my former feral cat for severe environmental allergies. It was a frustrating start; the vet intended to send us home with ear drops after a culture, but failed to communicate this or provide the medication. I left empty-handed and confused, only receiving the medicine at a follow-up after they realized their error. Mistakes happen, and I was willing to overlook this to continue his care. The Concern: Despite the confusing nature of my cat's allergies, I felt the plan of care was nebulous. I ended up doing hours of my own research to understand his triggers and treatment options--information I expected to receive from the professional I was paying. The Breaking Point: After a recent flare-up caused by new pillows in our home, my fiancé called to schedule a follow-up. Instead of being met with help, the receptionist questioned why we had "waited so long" to call since his last visit. After we were patient with their previous medical oversight, being met with an inference that we weren't providing timely care for our pet was the final straw. We found a different clinic that saw him that same afternoon and will be taking all three of our cats there from now on. I wanted to love this place based on a friend's recommendation, but the lack of a clear treatment plan and the condescending tone on the phone were dealbreakers.

I was wondering why we could not just talk about the price over the phone. I have much more than 'sticker shock' after seeing the amount on the estimate. $659.40 was the 'low price' and 912.56 was the 'high price' I was so much in shock I had to look up statistical data telling me what the average cost for spaying a cat was. The price range for private practices is $300-$500. I still don't know what most of the 11 line items on the estimate include but I do note that one of them was simply "Convenience fee *Credit card charge*" for 22.30 low and 30.86 high. And the spay estimate includes a microchip implant. I did not ask for cost to have this procedure done. I just want to get her spayed at the moment. Hope will be seeing a new veterinarian from this point forward. I am not a rich man. And I do not like extras thrown in when I am simply trying to determine how much I need to save to have ONE procedure completed.

I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of customer service and basic compassion at this clinic…read more I had an appointment scheduled for 4:30 PM for my dog who needed urgent care. Because I live 30 minutes away and had to rush home to get my dog during peak rush hour traffic, I proactively called ahead to let them know I was running late. Instead of showing any understanding for a working person trying to get medical attention for their pet, they were completely rigid. They strictly enforced a "grace window" policy, entirely dismissing the fact that they still had a full hour left before closing at 6:00 PM. To make matters worse, when we called to ask about payment options, the staff treated my wife with an absolute lack of respect. Their only solutions were entirely unrealistic for the average working person. They flippantly told me to just "reschedule" (which isn't easy when you work until 5:30 PM every day) or suggested I drop my dog off at 7:30 AM and leave her there until 6:00 PM. Why would I trust an establishment to watch my dog all day when they've already made it clear they don't care enough to do what they can to see her? This place operates like a rigid corporate machine, not a veterinary clinic that cares about animals or the people who love them. If you work a regular job or expect to be treated with basic respect and empathy during a stressful time with your pet, look elsewhere. They clearly do not care.

WARNING: My Advice - If You Love Your Pet, Stay Away From Neel Veterinary Hospital…read more My little Keeshond girl, Dusti, had a medical emergency. I took her to Neel. I feel that I made a huge and almost fatal mistake by trusting her care with Neel. It's taken me two weeks to get over the guilt I feel for entrusting my little girl's care to Neel Veterinary Hospital. I strongly recommend that if you care about your pet, do not take them to Neel. Please try any other option before going to Neel. In my opinion, I've never met a more shady, incompetent, lazy, money-driven, bizarre, and quite frankly, dangerous veterinarian establishment. It felt to me that the Neel Veterinary staff was determined to kill my dog - either through incompetence or administrative policies that not only made no sense - but also seemed to be haphazard and not in line with best practices. I paid my $1800 bill and ran out of there as fast as I could with my dog. I did not feel that she was safe with them and while I was in the waiting room observing, I had grave concerns about some other people's pets too. It's taken me two weeks to mentally prepare to post this review because I needed to calm down. Now that I've processed what occurred, I feel an obligation to warn others in OKC. Please DO NOT take your pet to Neel. Please. As a dog and animal lover - I beg you. Based on my experience, I believe that your pet could be harmed at Neel - potentially fatally. I know OKC is limited in emergency veterinary services. If you have to take your pet to Neel for an emergency, I recommend getting only the bare minimum services necessary to stabilize them and then go to a more professional, competent, and safe veterinarian immediately. Again, based on my experience with Neel two weeks ago, I cannot stress enough how strongly I feel that Neel Veterinary Hospital is dangerous and could possibly harm or kill your pet. This isn't about money. It's about making sure your fur baby is safe - which I strongly feel is not the case at Neel. Please learn from mine - and the other patients' one star reviews - I do not believe Neel is safe or competent.
