They just squeezed us in with an open appointment. I was actually on my way somewhere else to get their nails trimmed because they were just a little closer to home and said they would be open on a Saturday. Their sign was closed, and when they finally text back, they said they weren't opening today despite their social media post. I have not been to that place since because of their social media as well as my dogs not liking them - despite it being closer to home. So I called Woodlake. I already had my pups with me out running other errands. They have been amazing. One of my other dogs had passed, and we called to tell them. A week later, they mailed us a sympathy card. Great place. Everyone has been very kind and caring. We see whoever is available, and I have not had any issues with any of the vets there. I decided to call Wedgwood inquire about walk ins, quoted $100 exam fee, I don't recall price range for radiographs, not more than $200.. approx 1hr wait depending on how many check ins before us. I decided to head down to Wedgwood since wait time was shorter. We were brought back to a room with in 15 -20 minutes. Tech took vitals, veterinarian came in 5 minutes later, very knowledgeable with frenchies, IVDD, very thorough exam, detailed explanation of diagnosis, treatment etc. Exam, pain injection and medication to go home with ran me $200. I checked in at 2:50pm, home by 3:55pm. I was expecting it to be longer... Smaller clinics seem to be more caring, informative and personable vs the large animal hospitals that are expensive seem to be commercially ran. Two others were there before us, so not a huge time concern, plus I falsely assumed that been asked back at 1:30 pm from the no vet available at 11:30 am, we would have a priority attention. After waiting nearly 90 minutes, a long wait to be sure, but the frustration was that four other people came in after us, but were attended to before us? Their protocols and communication were very confsuing and seemingly inconsitantly enforced. A total wait time for the day nearly three hours. When I went to the check in counter expressing my confusion and dissatisfaction, then, miracuoulsy, they could "get me in" next. It was a frustrating experience, an unnecessary waste of time for me and very traumatic for our 14-year-old dog. She spent the same three hours shaking, shivering and fearful. The price range for private practices is $300-$500. I still don't know what most of the 11 line items on the estimate include but I do note that one of them was simply "Convenience fee *Credit card charge*" for 22.30 low and 30.86 high. And the spay estimate includes a microchip implant. I did not ask for cost to have this procedure done. I just want to get her spayed at the moment. Hope will be seeing a new veterinarian from this point forward. I am not a rich man. And I do not like extras thrown in when I am simply trying to determine how much I need to save to have ONE procedure completed.

They strictly enforced a "grace window" policy, entirely dismissing the fact that they still had a full hour left before closing at 6:00 PM. Their only solutions were entirely unrealistic for the average working person. They flippantly told me to just "reschedule" (which isn't easy when you work until 5:30 PM every day) or suggested I drop my dog off at 7:30 AM and leave her there until 6:00 PM. Why would I trust an establishment to watch my dog all day when they've already made it clear they don't care enough to do what they can to see her? Please try any other option before going to Neel. In my opinion, I've never met a more shady, incompetent, lazy, money-driven, bizarre, and quite frankly, dangerous veterinarian establishment. It felt to me that the Neel Veterinary staff was determined to kill my dog - either through incompetence or administrative policies that not only made no sense - but also seemed to be haphazard and not in line with best practices. I paid my $1800 bill and ran out of there as fast as I could with my dog. I did not feel that she was safe with them and while I was in the waiting room observing, I had grave concerns about some other people's pets too. It's taken me two weeks to mentally prepare to post this review because I needed to calm down. Now that I've processed what occurred, I feel an obligation to warn others in OKC. Please DO NOT take your pet to Neel. Please. As a dog and animal lover - I beg you. Based on my experience, I believe that your pet could be harmed at Neel - potentially fatally. Overall I have been really impressed with Dr Rosier, and happy that we finally found a great vet for our feline babies! Also, Dr Strube is super nice and great with pets as well.
