My relative choose this place since they attended a memorial service here in the past. Well the owner of this establishment Christopher Kent decided to do a package deal. When I call to get a detailed itemization of his services he informed me that it would cost much more. You see I found a place for them to purchase a casket and print colour memorial programs. Christopher Kent told me that sometimes caskets purchased outside his facility do not close/lock properly and that he didn't want the body falling out the casket. I thought to myself this man must take me for one of the usual, uneducated, idiots he's use to speaking with I found tone was abrasive and condescending. Needless to say I absolutely had my relative make other arrangements. Funny every place I called after my conversation with him I had an itemized price list of their services. I detest unethical people who take advantage of people in their time of need.

Peter, his son, and the entire team made our lives much easier by thinking of everything we could not think of at this time. One moment that especially touched us was when Peter personally arranged for a beautiful photo display in the chapel, choosing pictures that reflected our son's life and spirit. He also took the time to share a few comforting words, remembering small details we had mentioned about our son, which made us feel truly seen and supported. Professionalism, knowledge, and kindness were hard to describe in words. I hope that none of my close friends will ever need these kinds of services, but unfortunately, that is not possible. My mother did not look anything like herself, and the Funeral Home held her body an extra two days instead of just transferring it to the new Funeral Director. On top of that, the pricing was different than what was quoted to me and I decided not to use them at all. I would not recommend them , and if you want your loved one to look like they're sleeping and not look like a dead then please don't use this Funeral Home.. Our service was at church, when it came time for our final goodbye, it was handled just lovingly by Johnandrew!We went to view our mom on Friday afternoon, we were not rushed and made to feel so comfortable. My mom's makeup was just remarkable, she looked so natural, like she was sleeping. Our entire experience was a ten star review! This image will always be engraved in our heads now and forever and we cannot change that. It was mortifying and a disgrace to my sister's memory. However, from the moment Mr. Lyons came to pick up Mom's body till he said goodbye to us at the cemetery, our family was treated with the utmost respect and care. Mr. Lyons met with my father, sister, and I and explained everything thoroughly. He assisted my dad in choosing the casket and making arrangements for flowers, the obituary, and even contacted the church for us to make an appt. Mr. Lyons was kind and considerate. He did not try to sell us anything extra, nor did he recommend the highest price items. He was fair and professional. My mother's body was prepared for her funeral with the care and dignity. Mr. Lyons and his staff did an excellent job. Her makeup was perfect, as was her hair. She looked beautiful and natural, and I'm certain she would have been very pleased. If you need funeral services, I do not think you will be disappointed if you choose Lyons in Glenolden. I think they are trustworthy, professional, and very talented.

My father was in hospice care recently.   I decided to be proactive and reach out to the funeral…read morehome on behalf of my mother, to get an idea of what was available to fulfill my parents wishes.   My family had used Lambie Funeral Home 3 times prior for two of my great uncles and my grandmother.  The last time was about 10 years ago. After emailing them, I received a phone call from David Lambie to talk to me personally about what we were looking for (cremation,  memorial service,  live streaming,  death certificates,  social security and Medicare notifications, paperwork to fly the ashes internationally)and the costs.    David was kind and caring.  He took his time and explained the processes, step by step.     A week and a half later, my father passed away. I called David just after midnight.  He was there within half an hour to pick up my dad.      The next day, we met with David and worked out the obituary and the rest of the arrangements.   He listened to us, and he made thoughtful suggestions.  Over the next few days, he was patient and attentive as we edited the obituary   and memorial cards several times.  He added and edited our picture montage several times as well.  He was always patient, and kind and sympathetic. He and his lovely wife, Dana, recommended several restaurants for our post memorial reception.    On the day of the Celebration of Life he had someone in the parking lot upon our arrival, ready to help us bring in our pictures, photo albums,  and other props. From the moment we walked in the door, David was there and ready to help us set up our memory vignettes.  My dad had multiple businesses throughout his life and we set up stations that payed homage to his entrepreneurial endeavors.      David went above and beyond.  We had family across the country who were not able to fly in for the services. David started the live feed an hour early so our family members could watch the reception before the services and eulogies started.      The services and eulogies were heart warming and stirring.   At the end of everything,  we had so many people approach us and compliment us on the best funeral that they had ever attended.   I don't know about you,  but I've never been to a funeral that was such a stand out,  that I wanted to remark about it to the family.  We heard it over and over again.   This was all made possible by David & Dana Lambie.    When we were leaving,  David & Dana had everything ready for us.  They had a flash drive of the services, the guest book, the framed picture of my father from the memorial service, and the paperwork we would need to transport the ashes internationally.        They were thorough and efficient, warm and caring.  I can't say enough wonderful things about them.   I would recommend them highly.   They are professional,  effective,  compassionate and a credit to their profession.  When you need funeral services,  know that these people will handle every detail with the utmost care.   David and Dana Lambie are absolutely fantastic!
