The price was higher than quoted and the gel nails didn't even last a week! Went back twice for repairs and still falling off!

DO NOT GET DIP HERE!! The man with tattoos all over his arms and missing half of each of his thumb nails charged me $40 (which is the going rate) BUT DID NOT KNOW HOW TO DO DIP NAILS! He left my nails long when I asked for them to be short. He never even pulled out a nail clipper. He went over my cuticle with the dip which doesn't seal the nail which caused all of my nails to pop off in less than a week. He also used a nail file at the end which if any part of the nail was sealed, he unsealed them then. Made an appointment for my sister and myself. Proceeded to wait for nearly an hour for the worst nail job of my life. Do not go here!! read more

Very good family owned nail salon at reasonable prices. They are full service with variety of techniques. I have been going to D & D for over 8 years and am particular about my nails and pedicures. They also do eyebrow waxing. Dean, the owner, is the best with acrylics and Tony's pedicure and leg massage is wonderful. They just moved to new building which is so clean and modernized. Worst pedicure ever. He didn't do the cuticle area. Barely cut the nails, so polish chipped the tips immediately. Leg massage was irritating because he kept massaging the same calf and arch area over and over never getting to the rest of the leg or feet. The guy was bored out of his mind, and it showed. Will never go back because there are very good nail places up the road in Sebring. Yuck! read more

When I first moved to Lake Placid, I continued getting my nails done in Miami, which, as you can imagine, is a huge hassle. Because of previous reviews, I was hesitant to try this place out, but I really needed to find a local nail salon, so I have it a try. I was not disappointed. Nancy, my new favorite manicurist, did a phenomenal job. She's sweet and welcoming and a pro at manis and pedis. I've been back five more times and have never been disappointed. I call ahead to find out whether she's available or what time is best. She's very efficient and I can't complain about how long it takes. She's very flexible and provides excellent customer service. Last time all the pedicure chairs were full so I told her not to worry, that is just go home and change the color. She immediately offered to do it herself and in a jiffy my toenails were presentable. This place is not a five-star salon/spa, but you can't beat it for price, convenience, and efficiency. read more
