She had to call the manager to do an override. 5 hours later I came back because i needed 3 more feet of the exact chain. Since cutting the chains is not self service, the manager that did the override earlier cut the chain for me. It was still clearly marked at .60/ft. I almost asked him to write that on the paper slip. My stupid mistake was not asking him to write it down. When the little old lady rang it up at 1.49/ft, I said "nope. Sticker still says .60/ft.". When we walked back together, the sticker had been pulled off. There was now no Identification/sku number available. So how do we even know the real price? These employees are lazy and pathetic. Aside from the price scan, the manager had to be interrupted, from his cigarette break, probably. The one employee I did see, barely spoke any English, and he was on break. 1st and last time I ever shop at this 3rd rate hardware store

The employees go out of their way to help, and they do it with a smile. I've come in several times over the last couple months and every time I find what I need, there is always someone available if I need it, and the prices are reasonable. This particular store also has home decorating and appliance items as well as all kinds of tools, hardware, home repair and maintenance items, i'll kinds of special tools and equipment you can rent, yard and garden supplies. Yes, you can find all these at Home Depot, but coming here is almost like going to a friend's house. As long as Russell's is here I'll always check here first before heading anywhere else.

He hung out in the area without even asking if I was looking for anything in particular, so not sure what his purpose is at HD. I had no problems finding what I wanted along with a few extra tools and the only employee that I encountered that actually had customer service skills was the young lady at the registers to assist people locating goods or checking out. *If you appreciate minimal customer service skills and just an acknowledgement of your presence there are other options in Del Rio, not many but they do exist.

I proudly pulled out my identification for verification and she said, "Thank you for your service, sir!" So I was under the impression that this establishment honored veterans. As the cashier rang up my goods this morning, I pulled out my identification and told her I was a veteran, and she began to ring it up and stopped. She then told me that was tomorrow. I said, "Tomorrow... what do you mean?!" She looked at me as she leaned forward and mumbled, "They only give to discount on Thursday's." WOW! Was the only reply I gave. If she has to mumble the policy to people, then it is obvious that employees are ashamed of the company's policy. I'm a proud veteran of these United States and the great state of Texas 24 / 7. No big deal; they were there first. Anyway, when lady noticed me, she asked if I needed help, and then directed me to go to the back because she was mixing paint for someone else. I showed her my paint sample stick and my paint, but she still directed me to the back where you order lumber. I didn't need lumber and she didn't explain her reasoning. (Basically, she wanted me to go get her help from the back.) I didn't feel like they wanted my business, so I just left without purchasing paint or the items my husband selected. The paint at MG is reasonably priced, which is why I gave them 2 stars, but if the paint department passes customers on to another department, what's the point?

The cacti and succulent selection was more than decent with some reasonably priced. They had a few large (gallon or more) sized cactus that were expensive but they were large varieties. They also had variegated bougainvilleas that were beautiful but super pricy (but the tag said they were 4 1/2 years old). Some cool pots, too. Did get a lot of help though. If I lived in Kerrville, I would visit often to support.
