The electrician is nice, but i don't think he knew what he was doing. Our AC was out and the AC company said the unit has no power to call electrician. Our home insurance Fidelity sent D&D. The man said that the lights hanging from the stuco wall maybe hit a wire and would have to run wire to the entire breaker. It would cost $3200 to $4000 which is not covered by homeowner insurance. I had a family member General contractor look and fixed the problem for $50 it was a breaker switch that needed replacement. I don't know if the guy was uneducated or fraudulent but that's a huge difference. Afterwards we looked online. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS of Fidelity home insurance using D&D. So, something going on with Fidelity Home Insurance and D&D that is not kosher. POOR QUALITY and doesn't stand behind his work! Very disappointed in this company. I have never left a bad yelp review before. We had them work on our recessed lights to replace fluorescent with LED in August 2019. 2 major issues. First, one by one over the last year they start going on and off several times a day. Losing the first light about a year ago. The second light started up about 6 months ago and now it is out, the third light is now going on and off and will probably be out in the coming days and weeks. I should have called when it first started happening but just got busy with life and now a third of the kitchen is in shadows so finally got pushed to contact the owner. When I got I touch with them, I was told that since the 4 year warranty was up in August, there was nothing he could do. If it turned out to be an equipment failure of the light I get that, and understand he can't give a warranty on the hardware that he has no control over. However, this seems like a wiring issue since the lights seem to one by one going on and off. That brings this to the second issue. As I was investigating the problem, he made the recessed lights hardwired so the LED light can't be easily replaced and so an electrician needs to be called every time to change the lightbulb unless you want to start dealing with wiring. This seems like a money grabbing maneuver that I had never seen before so didn't even think to ask about. I would expect a business person who cares about his work to offer to take a look for free, and if it was a problem with workmanship he would fix it but explain he would need to charge x amount of light needs to be replaced. Apparently, the quality of any of his electrical work shouldn't be expected to last more than 4 years. We were planning other house work, so I am glad that I found this out about him now before I went back to him with more business. Buyer beware! read more

I would highly advise to avoid the company. They were contacted by Fidelity Home Warranty to fix a ceiling fan that is not working properly. However, their technician reported the fan does work properly since it's still spins despite visually seeing the fan spins extremely slowly. He did not fix the problem and FHW is refusing to fix the issue based on the technician's recommendation. These people are crooks and just want to charge extra. The claim the dimmer switch is the root of the cause is bogus. How do you explain the fan working perfectly fine and one day the fan began to malfunction? If the switch is to attribute to the issue the problem would've existed from the get go. read more

So I was somewhat nervous about the entire process. I needed to get 4 outlets installed near 4 different toilets, for electric bidet installation. Doron arrived on a Monday to survey the site (no awkwardness around asking him to wear booties and a mask). He quoted me a flat price inclusive of labor and materials. Update: We have a 4 year warranty for the work done by D&D. We called since the electrical box housing the 3 switches they installed started drifting inside the wall. It's gotten so bad that we had to tape the third switch to keep the exhaust fan turned on. We made appointment to have them fix the error. Today my wife called Doron (owner) berated my wife for changing the switch cover, saying we did something to make the system faulty. News flash: Our home is Spanish styled and we put up a cover to enhance those features. My wife and I recently hired D&D to fix our electrical components, add recessed lighting. We had them do a package deal for a number of items. We payed an exorbitant amount. Make sure you get everything in writing since the owner, Doron makes commitments and backs out. He did not honor his word. DO NOT agree to anything verbally from this guy. Make sure you supervise the crew. Otherwise your work order will not be done in a complete fashion. The first project had my hallway light being turned on by the bathroom light, the bathroom light staying on indefinitely and the kitchen and bedroom not turned on at ALL. When asked to have issue resolved we had to wait a whole day. On top of that they left a mess of patch work, wholes and misaligned fixtures. Be weary of these guys - they'll try to up-charge you on everything. We've already had them come out on several occasions. Each time we've had to ARGUE in order to get the job done right. Company makes you feel as if you're an inconvenience when you're the one bringing them business. Would not recommend using this company unless you're up for a fight. Third world service! I would provide zero stars if I could, since they provided zero level of service. I was connected to D&D through my home warranty, they came about a week after I requested service. The lights in the house would all dim when I ran the A/C. The technician Doron came, didn't even look at anything in the house, shrugged his shoulders and said there was no fix. I was completely flabbergasted; I asked if it was normal for people to sit in near darkness just so they could run the A/C, and he said "yes, we see it all the time". At my insistence he looked at the house wiring and our electrical panel and proclaimed it was all fine, and there was nothing he could do. At this point I was just stunned; he left within 5 minutes. I called the home warranty service and demanded another technician; they called D&D and verified that the technician was uncooperative, and promised me a new vendor right away. STAY AWAY! read more

Doron was exceptionally professional and punctual. He analyzed why the power keeps going out. Came the next day and replaced the electric sub panel. Did an excellent job at that! THANK YOU! Doron came to inspect why power keeps going out in my unit. I was out of town and only the tenants were there. He determined that the sub panel was bad and needs to be replaced. After walking me through the analysis, he sent me pictures and videos of the panel, to make sure that I really fully understand that the problem is real. Due to the holiday, my tenants needed the panel replaced asap. He moved around some stuff and was able to come the very next day at the times that were convenient to the tenants. Although he had his workers do the work, he himself was there most of the time - and was completely hands on! Afterwards, he send me more pictures and videos, to show me the defects of the old panel. So I know that there was no choice but to have it replaced. Within 24 hours, the sub panel was replaced, the placed cleaned up and power was back on! This is my first time I am posting a poor review on YELP and I have posted many reviews on YELP. I truly wish I could give them no stars. I don't understand how they got all those good ratings on YELP, maybe I was the only unlucky one here. I always do my research and homework before hiring a contractor, but this time I was at the mercy of my home warranty company, American Home Shield (AHS)! A bathroom exhaust fan stopped working a few weeks ago. This is a fan/heater/light unit that we purchased for about $90 at Lowe's 11 years ago and a handyman replaced the old fan and installed the new one in half an hour for $50. A few weeks ago, only the fan part stopped working and the heater was functional. When AHS assigned D&D Electrical Services and I saw their good rating on YELP, I felt comfortable. The reason I went with AHS and did not hire a contractor on my own was that replacing this bathroom fan is supposed to be a simple task as shown by the handyman 11 years ago. Anyway, D&D Electrical sent a technician about a week after AHS created the service contract and I already paid AHS $75 service fee. The technician shows up and spends about 15 minutes by opening the unit and writing down the model and serial number to search for a part. He also said that if he can find the part they will recommend replacing the unit. So far so good. This was a Friday and nothing happened until I called D&D office next Tuesday and I was told that they were unable to find the needed part so they can not repair the unit. I was not surprised since the fan is at least 11 years old. They also told me that they have sent a report to AHS with their recommendation. They could not share the report with me at this time. Nothing happened for the next few days and this time I called AHS customer service for a followup. I was told that D&D Electrical Services has said that the fan has failed because of moisture and since this is a secondary or consequential failure AHS will not cover it and they denied the D&D Electrical Services recommendation to do something for over $600 my out of pocket expenses. A few points of interest here: 1) Replacing a bathroom exhaust fan when it can not be repaired is 100% covered in my AHS policy and AHS failed to honor their contract by claiming that a bathroom fan failed because of moisture is excluded, 2) It is a fan in a bathroom where people take a shower and the fan is designed to take out the moisture, 3) it is an old fan and it is not unusual to fail after 11 years and I have had my policy with AHS for over 10 years, 4) Neither AHS nor D&D Electrical Services shared a copy of the report with me; I called D&D multiple times and they said they will email me a copy, but they never did, and 5) AHS said that D&D Electrical Services have stated that fan failed due to moisture and this is a combo unit of fan/heater/light and includes many sensitive electronic components. Not having seen the report, I am guessing D&D Electrical Services made this job as a complicated task with an expensive part to replace to justify a $600 job plus $75 service fee that they have already received. I still don't know what they were trying to do for an additional $600. I seriously don't believe a bathroom fan is a high tech item with many sensitive electronic components. I searched online for a similar combo fan unit and I found a few of those ranging from $139 to $179. They did not even share with me what brand of bathroom fan they recommend and will use. So If D&D Electrical Services buys a new fan for about $153 ($139 plus tax) then they will charge $534 ($612 + $75 - $153) for labor to replace it! So it looks like I wasted $75 and now I need to make another trip to Lowe's or Home Depot and hire a good electrician or handyman to replace the fan! read more

They were sent to us for a broken air conditioner through our home warranty company - prior to this we had wasted months with other technicians who did not fix the problem. D&D was assigned the contract by our home warranty at 5pm Tues and by 9:30am Wed they called to set an appointment up for the following day. Most other companies contracted with home warranty are not this efficient (a previous contractor assigned to this job took 3.5 weeks to give us a call). Doron arrived on time, was extremely professional, knowledgeable, straightforward and warm, and was able to fix the electrical problem so that our air conditioner finally started working again. I utilize a home warranty company. D&D electrical put in the report the electrical panel needed replacing due to overload. The technician Doron told me verbally it was old and needed to be replaced. Overload is not covered by the warranty company, wear and tear is. The technician stated he has never seen the warranty company cover the cost of installing a new electrical panel. He said it didn't matter to him if I paid for the service or the warranty company. Well it mattered to me. He had no reasonable response when asked why he diagnosed the issue as an overload instead of wear and tear as discussed. Thankfully, another electric company stated the correct diagnosis of wear and tear and the panel was replaced by home warranty company. I question whose best interest D&D electric company has, the home warranty company or the customers. I wish he would've just stated the facts. read more

I've had Doron out a few times and the work has always been good and the prices pretty good. (You get what you pay for... don't look for the cheapest price when having electrical work done in your home!) I finally decided to write this overdue Yelp review because today really stood out. Doron did not come out himself (as he did in past visits) but his guys were really great. They showed up early (but not too early) and with great attitudes. It's amazing how many service companies will send out people with crappy attitudes... these guys were nice and seemed happy to be there, got to work immediately, did good, clean work and swept up when they were done. There's always a temptation for workers in these situations to get the job done as quickly as possible and get out. These guys were quick but they took the time to say, "do you like the outlet here?", "we can make it a little lower if you want". They were installing a 220 outlet for my Electric Vehicle charger... they really only needed to be concerned with the outlet... that's where their contracted work ended... but then they took the time to see where the charger would sit/hang and then fasted the charger to the wall and fastened the beefy charger cord to the wall so that it looked, you know, "installed" and not just hanging there. I thought the price was right, too... $450 for materials/labor (not including actual EV charger) to run the conduit from the panel (outside the garage) to the new outlet (inside the garage). But the actual work is only part of the story. Doron was out the same day I first called, to give an estimate. His office (and he) followed up two times to see when my new charger was going to arrive (I bought it on Amazon), scheduled the work within a day or two of it arriving, called the night before to confirm the appointment. I was assigned this company through my Home Warranty Company and I couldn't tell you if they are good at their job because they never showed up. My first appointment they called me and said they would need to cancel because of an "emergency". My second appointment they failed to show or call. I decided to call to find out what had happened and was notified that they called my home home warranty company to tell them that they couldn't accommodate me. I received no call to cancel my set appointment. Instead, I was left waiting at my house for a technician to show up. I also don't understand how they can all of a sudden just decide that they can't accommodate me. My home warranty company stated that they never received a call from the company either. We had put in yet another call to our home warranty company for our fluorescent lights in the garage flickering and/or not working at all. The year before it took two months to get a ballast replaced and do necessary repairs. This time Doron Garby came out and gave us a very reasonable price to just convert all of our fluorescent to LED. We have a lifetime warranty and he has stood by it. Several bulbs were defective and his guys came out within two DAYS (not months) and switched them out. Great company to deal with. They really CARE about their customers. His guys are first-rate: professional, extremely courteous (& punctual!), they do meticulous work, and clean-up after themselves. They did a great job installing the ceiling fan last year, they were quick and clean. Unfortunately, they have been inconsistent in their communication the last few weeks. My husband initially spoke with them about installing new electrical outlets in our backyard. After explaining the scope of work, she gave a verbal quote which was within our budget. She said they would send someone out to survey the backyard, but have yet to do so. We have made several attempts to contact them and schedule the work to no avail. Very simple. Scheduled a tech to come to the house to fix an outlet. Was told the tech would be there between 1-3 PM. Adjusted my work schedule in order to be home during those hours. We called at 2:30 to see the ETA and were informed by the tech that our call wasn't booked and he couldn't make it that day. To be fair, he offered us a $10 discount on his next visit. However, there will never be a next visit. You don't screw your customers like that. read more
