Unacceptable Conduct by Bus Driver and Lack of Accountability
I am extremely disappointed with the handling of an incident involving Bus 5 from PGSD on the morning of January 21. That morning, following a snowstorm and in freezing temperatures, the bus driver falsely claimed that my child was not ready at the stop and that she had to stop twice, creating a supposed "dangerous situation." However, after reviewing the bus video, the school district confirmed that her claims were completely false.
This is not the first issue we have had with this driver. In the past, she has made inappropriate comments to my child about his stop being "out of the way," making him uncomfortable--especially considering that he has a disability and experiences anxiety when boarding the bus. We have also dealt with multiple instances where she simply failed to pick up my child, and when we reported these incidents, nothing was done.
It is completely unacceptable for a driver, whose job is to safely transport children, to lie and write false disciplinary actions just to cover herself. What's worse, when we contacted the bus company, they dismissed our concerns despite clear video evidence proving the driver was dishonest.
If your child has been written up by this driver, I strongly urge you to demand a review of the video. No child should be unfairly targeted, and no driver should be allowed to fabricate reports without accountability. If working with children is such a burden for this driver, perhaps she should consider another line of work.
