We went expecting the freshness and creativity of the spring and summer experiences, but as the…read moreowner and chef(?) has changed, we were sadly disappointed. Started sharp at 730 to find the first course explained as "Mushrooms, leek and usually this is where the fish would be but since you're vegetarian". the main course was a sugared and buttered truffle pasta (if i wanted pasta I would have gone for an italian bistro, not belgian!). To top it off it took 40 mins between each course, 1 hour to bring the dessert after the main course, and 30 mins to get the bill - which came in a handwritten note (not printed)! Last time ever...

This place is by FAR my favorite around the hood! You come into a trendy, modern, fancy yet…read morefamiliar decor and interior where the only thing at the walls is .... yes... Papaver (Klaproos)!!! The menu is FANTASTIC, not too big but big enough to satisfy all palates. Excellent meat and fish dishes, pasta ,veggie options even ... the one better than the other, depending on your preferences and taste. My preferred dish here is "Dorade on thick salt".... mmmhhh, ... it makes me wanna book a table again tonight! Fee & Nadia welcome you in relaxed atmosphere, friendly, inviting, elegant and cozy... the #Max! I go out to eat on a frequent basis. Few times a week. When I don't visit Papaver after 1 day I week I feel .. haha! So I come back again. There's something in their food that it's almost addictive ... personally it makes me crave for more... The best "pimped tomato juice" is made here. Try it if you like ... I don't have a sweet tooth but their "Sorbet Colonel" is yammie! All of their dishes have that special "touch" you'll find nowhere else. Trust me! In the spring/ summer they open this relaxing and reserved terrace surrounded by climbing leaves.amazing to even take the laptop and do some work outside .. I recommend you to book upfront. This place is always packed and theres a good reason for that: food revolution with a twist! You won't regret a visit! Enjoy!!

A special four course tasting menu came with five amuses and a selection of bread. Coffee or tea is 12€ but comes with an assortment of desserts or petit fours. Decor is modern and tasteful. With a massive wine cooler/display built into the wall I'm sure they can offer a good pairing but I suspect that could almost double the price. It's pricey, yes. The portions are small as they usually are when a restaurant is labelled as fine dining rather than for gourmands but for a special occasion this place is well worth trying.
