Im not really sure why it had to happen at the time of my appointment. Sadly, I had to make the difficult decision to put my pet down. I reached out to see if they could offer any leniency with their strict cancellation policy. They had already taken a deposit ($50, if I remember correctly), but then charged me an additional $100 for the cancellation. I tried to explain my situation, but it felt like I was talking to an ai robot person on the phone who kept saying the same thing over and over like a horrible broken record. This kind of response is unfortunately pretty common and probably not surprising. I did find a new friendly psychiatrist who doesn't even have that policy, or atleast after the VERY FIRST TIME. I DIDN'T EVEN MEET ANYONE IN THE OFFICE YET. anyways yeah, i do NOT recommend this place. So thankful there's better out there! :)

Dr. Gritz is the best psychiatrist I have ever worked with…read more I started seeing him in 2013 when I had my first Bipolar episode. Together, he and I have worked hard to bring me to stability. I can function in life again, I'm not suffering anymore. It's taken time and patience, but it has been worth it 100%. What makes Dr. Gritz different is that I have never been treated as "crazy" by him. He is respectful, pleasant, and takes the time to listen to what I have to say about my symptoms and progress. He doesn't write what I say off. He has always taken what I say seriously. I have never felt talked down to or like I was being tip toed around. He also coordinates care, meaning that (with your consent) he actually follows up with your therapist(s) after your appointment with him. I have always had exceptional service, the doctors are always incredible, have great bed side manner. I also have brought my children and the staff has always been so patient with them. The offer many services from dental, mental health and to a wide variety of ages. They offer assistance to those who need it or are without insurance. I have never used it but have met patients in the waiting room who thrived about how easy and smooth the process was. They also told me what a breathe of fresh air it was to know they are getting great treatment without worrying about how they are going to be able to pay for the services. She is not condescending but she is quiet and will listen before she offers advice. I guess this could come off as some kind of silent judgement but if you have nothing to talk about you shouldn't need therapy. I would advise writing down the things you want to work on and giving examples of how they are affecting you. Therapy is really hard and she will not agree with you just to make you feel better. You will be taking a long look at yourself. I imagine getting good reviews as a psychiatrist is hard when you make people face the things they don't like about themselves.

Upon finding out that my insurance wasn't accepted, she began to lecture me on what was taken - notwithstanding that I really didn't care, because I could just pay out of pocket trivially. Perhaps she was having a bad day, maybe she was swamped, maybe she has a lot going on. But her stressors do not belong in that environment. I'm giving the doctor herself the benefit of the doubt since I didn't meet with her, but this is not the first review critiquing terrible staff, and it says a lot that nothing has been done about it.
