The Front Desk/Lobby When you walk into the studio you are welcomed by the most friendly front desk staff (who will show you the ropes on everything you need to know if you are a first-timer!) - the lobby is energizing but doesn't make you feel like you feel intimidated and scared before your workout - you'll find lockers, clean benches, and a restroom stocked with deodorant, hair ties, and other essentials you may need during your workout. The Workout Room aka the Orange Room, is kept clean and sanitized and is designed with enough space for every person in your class. The workouts are challenging, but are always doable! With Orangetheory you get the benefit of a coach while still being in a group setting - talk about the best of both worlds! And don't worry - they have sanitizing wipes to clean down your equipment once you are done. The Workout & Coaches You spend time on the treadmill (or bike/strider), the rower, and the floor (for strength training) with equal time divided up between the exercises to be sure that you get a comprehensive full bodywork. You also wear a heart rate monitor to keep track of your heart rate, calorie burn, etc. Every single coach at Orangetheory in Oviedo is incredible to work with. They are encouraging and make the effort to get to know you and your fitness needs to make it the best workout for you. They always have alternatives if you struggle with completing an exercise or have an injury - and most importantly, they never, ever make you feel bad. Each coach is positive and uplifting! I had tried other fitness programs where I'd burn 200-300 calories a session and it just wasn't worth it to me. At OTF the minimum I burn is 500. Another thing I love is the variety of class. It's typically broken up into time on the treadmill, rower, and weight floor. So when you are about to vomit your breakfast all over your treadmill and throw in the towel, the coach flags you to the next area strengthening your will to continue. The playlists are always fire. The coaches are like friends or family. They will even call you if you miss a few sessions and make sure you're not dead. They offer classes all throughout the day which is big for me because I frequent the 5am class and also late afternoon and everything in between. When I don't attend for a few weeks, I can feel my sanity start to slip away from me. Highly recommend.

I trained with Jim Kaale and went in initially because I was tired of lackluster weightlifting and…read moreathletic performance resulting from back to back car accidents. I've tried physical therapy, acupuncture, yoga and weights to work through my injuries to no avail. So I went in for a consult. He was the first trainer to say "OK, tell me what's going on" and listened to everything without interrupting. He asked a ton of detailed questions, wrote down a ton of notes, took measurements and walked me through the goals for each week. He gave me actionable nutrition advice that helped me stay on track even to this day. If you have scar tissue, an unresolved injury, are frustrated with your physical therapist (like I was), Jim will change your world. After the first session I had improved range of motion in my left side. He is extremely detailed oriented and will challenge you to the end but will adapt every motion to meet you where you are. He is a stickler for form and it shows because no matter how intensely I worked I was always able to work out and feel great the next day. I left every session feeling like a BAMF because he showed me that even with injuries I was capable of so much. I recommend Jim and his practice totally and completely. The workouts are different every day and are one hour long. The coaches are very knowledgeable and attentive. The location is what attracted me first since I live nearby and it is convenient for me. The prices are relatively the same as other crossfit gyms in Orlando. They offer morning classes as early as 6am Monday to Friday and have afternoon and evening classes. They offer yoga a couple times a week and have an olympic weight lifting class also which helps you understand the movements and technique. There is a free class offered on Saturday mornings for new people. Saturday there are two morning classes and closed on Sundays. The great thing about this place is that you can be totally out of shape or an elite athlete and you can do whatever the workout is. All of the workouts are scaled to whatever your capabilities are so do not let your level of fitness stop you from giving it a try.
