I love coming to my local planet fitness! Out of all the locations I've been to across the country,…read morethis location is one of my top 3. I always find myself comparing other planet fitness's to this location, and majority of the time, this one always comes out superior. It's in a great location. There are other popular vendors and restaurants in this plaza so the closest parking area to the gym does tend to fill up fast, however, this planet fitness is located within a Publix Plaza so while close parking may not be accessible, there's always plenty of parking within the plaza to use. The staff are always so incredibly kind and helpful. I am always greeted by an employee upon entry. The gym feels large in size and the renovations that were made within the last 6 months really helped make the experience of the gym overall better. I appreciate that the staff keeps the gym and bathrooms clean for the most part. Only deduction in stars is because there is always at least one machine out of order any time I go, which can be annoying. But for the most part, machines out of order are fixed at a responsible speed. And there is about 2+ of every machine (some exceptions) so if one is broken there likely is another machine to use in its place.

My friend took me here as a guest last week for leg day and to our surprise, half of the machines…read morewe wanted to use were out of order. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the gym seemed overall clean, but it was a bummer that so many machines were not working. My only other critique on planet fitness is the lighting in here is a little bright and harsh for my liking, as I'm used to a lower, dimmer light at my gym, but overall we still got in a decently good workout, despite not having all machines available.

Since I've been there: The pool has been shut down, the daycare is never open, there is never any staff walking around cleaning anything, the rope is in the trainer area so you can't use it but there is rarely anyone in there, the option for disabled people is limited, the locker room has below average amenities, and some of the machines are completely rusted out (elliptical trainers) which could be a health code violation. Then there are around 6 desks in the front as you walk in, where "sales-personal trainers" sit and harass you to get personal training which is around $400-$500 a month..... who can afford that now? Overall, my personal opinion is that this facility is old and dusty, it needs a lot of updating to be the caliber of gym that Bally's once represented long ago, and it definitely needs new equipment To meet safety standards! I personally can not believe the owner of this business keeps those machines on the floor, all it takes is one slip and someone could get tetanus. In a post Covid world, LA Fitness needs to do a lot better in the hygiene department for the customers who place their trust in them to help with their fitness goals; rusty equipment is completely unacceptable.

The good thing about that is I get to meet and get to know everyone who goes there. There are several things that I love about Ethos: 1) The people are amazing. No matter what class you go to everyone is friendly, encouraging and I can always find someone who pushes me to be better. 2) There's plenty of space and enough equipment. I can't think of a time where we did not have enough weights for everyone. There are some gyms that aren't well equipped and this isn't one of them. 3) The app to keep track of your workouts, your benchmarks for weightlifting, and your progress 4) The programming. The workouts are strategic to work your entire body while focusing on certain groups together. While some things may be out of your wheel house the coaches always have options for modifying a movement to make it easier or more challenging for you. 5) This is a great option for both cardio and getting stronger. 6) The coaching staff is very knowledgeable and know a lot more than just lifting weights. From diet and nutrition to proper stretching they are true experts in their fields. If you're looking for a gym where you can get faster, leaner, stronger and lose weight but also have a good time with great people than look no further.

I would call this a hidden gem of gyms…read more I accidentally discovered Orlando Barbell as I was driving around my area looking for gyms. I was looking for a gym just for the summer and needed a deal. I spoke with the owner Brian, who was super helpful and gave me a 3 month deal so I wouldn't need to pay sign up fees. The gym itself is quite small, but really has everything I need. There's a lot of equipment that may look odd, but the reason is the gym is catered toward powerlifters. Which may sound intimidating but don't be. The people that go to the gym here are all really friendly. They will often acknowledge you as you walk in, unlike other larger gyms, and you won't see one of those Jersey boys walking around. The regulars here are very helpful in answering questions that you may have. Most of the time the gym isn't too packed. The most I've seen on a busy day would probably be about 8 or so. Usually there is only 1 or 2 people around, and the reason is this is a 24 hour gym, so you can come and go whenever. No restrictions if you like to workout at 2 in the morning. They also have a filtered water dispenser which I love, non of that water fountain crap. The reason I deducted 1 star is because some of the seats are starting to look a little worn. Tape has replaced the holes and the tape has started coming off. The place is also a little hard to walk around sometimes, but they use the space well. There aren't too many machines around, basically the most common ones, mostly free weights. The gym is priced really well, only $30 for adults, and there are discounts if your a student, fireman, etc. I would highly recommend this place if you are looking for a gym around the area.

I've been looking for a powerlifting gym since I compete in raw powerlifting. I had heard about…read morethis place so I decided to check it out. While there were some good things, I was pretty disappointed. I'll start with the good. There's a couple power racks, a decent monolift, and a couple competition style bench presses. There's also resistance bands and chains, along with specialty bars. The people seem very friendly too. As for the bad, there was many things to point out. First, the space is small, but not a deal breaker. The problem is right when you walk in, you'll notice a ton of out of date machines that take up all the space. That space could be used for more power racks, monos, deadlift platforms, etc. This also limits the amount of space used to warm up and/or do mobility work. I feel that if this is a powerlifting gym, it should be catered more towards powerlifters. There's a couple beneficial machines, but I'd much rather just go to an LA Fitness to use machines if I didn't do powerlifting. If the front room had power racks, squat racks, benches, and/or deadlift platforms instead, it would make the place seem bigger. The main room for actual powerlifting is better than the first room, but far from perfect. It's very difficult to get the different kinds of bars because they are tucked away in the corner. There are also a couple pointless pieces of equipment like a calf raise and preacher curl. I don't see why they are in the powerlifting room. MThe deadlift platform also has a bunch of little bumps on it, which creates an ineffective surface to deadlift because the bar will not stay in one place. Overall, this gym will get the job done, but it will be inconvenient. The size is fine, but with the amount of machines, it makes the space seem much smaller. The front room should have actual powerlifting equipment instead of machines that are inferior to other gym's machine. It just seems like this gym doesn't have a set identity. If this is a powerlifting gym, it's a pretty underwhelming one. If it's a bodybuilding/general fitness gym, it's pretty bad compared to the other gyms around like LA Fitness, Crunch, Zoo Healthclub, etc. You can't have both, and with the popularity of powerlifting increasing over the last few years, I'm surprised this gym doesn't just fully embrace powerlifting like they say they do. I've been to other powerlifting gyms, and this one ranks near the bottom for me.

They have so many different ones to choose from such as strength training, pilates, yoga, to even barre which Im very excited to try next, amongst many more. I recently did the bike cycling class and my immediate expectations weren't high since I just assumed their couldn't be much to it. However, the instructor Sharon was so motivating and incorporated the resistance bar which was a game changer and really helped get a real work out in. I can't say enough about the Yoga and Pilates instructors too - always a beautiful zen like feeling you get here on top of your workout. The classes are at different times of the day too so there's a lot of flexibility and extremely accommodating if you might get there a few minutes late. It's easy to reserve your class on the app and you can easily delete your booking beforehand if something comes up. All the instructors bring their own unique style and you can see which ones are going to teach what in case you may have a preference. Very importantly, the bathrooms, showers, and steam room are always in tip top shape. The Y here makes me look forward to my wellness routine and truly gives me the best bang for my buck, that's sincerely priceless.

Today was my second visit to Body Tech and my rating is really closer to two stars. What I dig…read moreabout this "gym" is that it is family owned and it feels like a neighborhood gym where folks know each other and you feel like you're a part of the local community. On the weeknight I went, they even had children working out (football players and cheerleaders? in separate rooms). Here's my beef, today (Saturday 9 AM), our boot-camp instructor (doesn't work for Body Tech- I think he rents time there to teach his classes) wasn't there. I learned that one of his students, who is training to be a exercise instructor, would take over the class. Okay, no biggie. I showed up for a workout and I got one; it didn't matter to me who taught the class. Because our instructor wasn't there, the teacher from the previous class (before ours) had a key to Body Tech and did not feel comfortable allowing us to stay without an official instructor/key. After multiple texting between several parties, we were permitted to stay and work out. I heard that in the past, this bootcamp class had to do their session outside because there were no staff at the gym. During our work out, two separate people showed up for work outs scheduled with staff from Body Tech. One of those people stayed for 10-15 minutes and then left. The other person waited for about 10 minutes before his trainer showed up. This is my first experience with a gym that is not corporate owned, so this maybe is how it works. I'll skip the Saturday classes and stick with the weeknight workout when I know the doors will be open and instructors are present.

The staff at BodyTech is great! Perfect for all levels of training. Sports specific training like…read moreno where else.
