I have never had to wait on a refill that I called in before coming to pick it up... though I do not mind waiting because the store never disappoints with top of the line gifts and unique items to browse. But, however, when Marion Drugs/Winn Dixie's/Jitney Jungle's pharmacies closed it left one hometown run pharmacy in this small town where it is 20 miles to the next pharmacy. A Fred's opened up some years ago and dirty politics (I'm guessing) has kept them from opening theirs even though the area in the back of the Fred's store is designed for a pharmacy. There is an awful monopoly on the pharmaceutical business in Marion. So, I guess it leaves it pretty much open to do questionable things and have bad reviews on Yelp. College City has once delivered my Dad's highly sensitive (double counted) meds to SOMEONE ELSE who just happened to know who my Dad was and honestly returned the meds to the store. Isn't that a Privacy Act violation??? And, giving someone the wrong medicine could kill them. I went there today to get my prescription filled. It was a transfer from the CVS in Greensboro so I was prepared to wait a little bit. Now, CVS in Greensboro has filled on of my transfers from College City in as little as 5 minutes (see my earlier review of them). This morning I was told to come back at lunch time. So, it took almost 3 hours to fill a script that already had a refill on it. It wasn't like they had to fax the doctor's office and get an approval on it. I am trying my best to do my future drug business with other out-of-town pharmacies. Sorry, Roy Barnette, Brad Sturgis and others.... but, that is just how I see it.

We were driving out to Gee's Bend and wanted to see Selma too. I was having major issues with allergies and the pharmacist was absolutely fantastic and so helpful. We went again in March 2019. They have the best pharmacist there. He is one of the best pharmacists I have ever had because he is knowledgeable, empathetic and he always has great ideas. before our trip out here for spring break I had a double ear infection and a sinus infection and I still can't hear out of my left ear very well. The pharmacist recommended an urgent care doctor if I wanted immediate help. The store also has a lot of great gifts and cute clothing and supplies for babies . The entire staff is fantastic. I love this store.

I recently took my son to Vaughn regional after spending 6 hours at Baptist East the previous day…read more My son, in elementary school, starting having chest pain and difficulty breathing while doing a physical fitness test at PE. We immediately took him to baptist since they deal with alot of pediatrics and since they pride themselves on having every specialty "under one roof". Needless to say after 6 hours, we were discharged with no real answers, only more questions. The next day we went to Vaughn Regional ER. The care we received while there put Baptist to shame in comparison. They ran tests that Baptist didn't (or failed to), got him in for a pediatric ultrasound and echo, and treated us with five star care from start to finish. The nursing staff (2 wonderful women and 1 male) were truly amazing. Brandon, the X-ray tech was excellent, truly wonderful at his job. He put both my son and myself at ease and made the entire ultrasound and echo procedure stress free. Even the nursing director, Phil, came by to personally ensure we were receiving excellent care. The ER doctor, Dr Pinon, had some of the best bedside manner I have ever experienced. You could tell that him and his entire ER staff work so well together and want every patient to feel cared for and to give them the best standard of care possible. They had us in and out in under three hours, yes you read that right. They ran all the correct tests, performed all the correct procedures and gave us real world anssr Whatever has happened in Selma with the leadership changes is working! This hospital is finally headed in the right direction.

I frequently had to go to the nurses' station for help. Most staff moved slowly and showed little concern for patient comfort. We had to ask every question; nothing was volunteered. At discharge, we were left without needed medical equipment due to poor communication between staff. A few team members were kind, but overall, the standard of care needs serious improvement.
