Tried to purchase gas and the pump said see attendant. I went in the store. It was not busy…read more Three clerks were standing and talking. After about thirty seconds I interrupted and explained that the pump said to see an attendant. I got an eye roll from the one and the other two scattered. The clerk told me to swipe the card. The machine in the store said, "hand the card to attendant to be scanned." I told her what the machine said and turned so she could see. She then starts talking in a loud voice and says, "We don't scan cards, only driver's license- Swipe your card." I tried repeatedly by inserting in the chip slot and then swiping side. The message didn't change and she can see this. I am holding a young toddler on my hip throughout this exchange and the clerk is becoming louder and more insistent that I am doing something wrong. At one point, she evens tries to swipe the card and then hands it back and tells me to do it again. I keep showing her what the message says and how it won't let me proceed. I finally gave up and said I will just go down the road to the next gas station. I also said I would be leaving a poor review. She then screamed, "I wasn't rude." Um, yes she was.
