I have so many memories of driving to school, stopping at Stripes, grabbing a Laredo taco and a banana nut coffee to go. I landed in the RGV from Hawaii around 9:30 AM, and the very first thing on my mind was breakfast tacos. Naturally, this specific stripes was the first one on my mind. It is the stripes that was close to my high school. This weekend is basically turning into a nostalgia tour of all the places I casually went to during my 21 years of living here. Funny how the everyday spots become the things you miss the most once you move away. Living in Hawaii is beautiful, but being back in the RGV has me thinking about all the things I grew up with... Tacos!!!!. Today I got four Q tacos which consisted of cheese, bacon, eggs, and beans and a Barbacoa taco, a corn dog, and a pig in a blanket, which brought me to a trip down memory lane. This Walgreens is one of the oldest in the Rio Grande Valley, yet it doesn't show like it is aging…read moremuch. It's very well kept and always looks organized on the inside. This is also one of the few Walgreens that is opened 24 hours a day. I've had to come here before at extremely late hours. Other Walgreens in the surrounding area aren't open 24 hours, but this one is and that makes it very dependable. There is a Redbox on the outside of Walgreens, which makes it ideal to rent movies when you have nothing to do. This place used to be the place were I would buy video game magazines, as their magazine selection is extensive. However, I tried doing that recently and I couldn't find a single one. They seem to have gotten rid of those magazines so I was disappointed on that. For your medical or beauty needs, this is the place to go.
