Typical CVS, as I say as an ex pharma tech for them, though I never straight up closed the drop off door in front of a patient after asking about the status of a medication after 30 mins. It was before the rush around 4:30, I got back from the doctor wheezing and trying to catch my breath needing my inhaler. I was pretty nice at first, asked if I can wait which a typical waiter is around 15-20 minutes when I use to fill, especially when I see a patient in discomfort. Anyways, I asked 3 times and it's nearing the hour mark of sitting in a corner where no one can see me. My chest started tightening, I asked if they can please just give me the inhaler for the 3rd time and asked what's wrong with the status. They didn't tell me. Just told me to keep waiting and I walked out, dry heaving to my car. I'm home now with my last resources for my asthma just for the night. Transferred everything to Kroger, they don't let you down. Way too many people fill at this CVS, tell your doctor to fill elsewhere for your sake. read more

Once again on hold for 30 minutes so I drive to the CVS with phone in hand. Was spoken to extremely rudely when I asked why he can't pick up the phone and I have to drive up there every time. He tells me he's busy (it's 12am on Easter Sunday). He also claimed he had 10 other customers on the phone waiting before me but he never spoke to anyone on the phone and it usually tells you what person you are in line. Then he tells me my prescription was "transferred" to another location when I've never used another pharmacy or transferred anything. I know it wasn't because it was previously filled and then restocked when I couldn't make it by. Asked for his name and he said Weston. Will be filing a formal complaint with Corporate. It's not that hard to pick up a phone or speak to someone with respect. Very poor service read more

I moved to Memphis from Charlotte NC in 2017 and didn't know anyone or any businesses. I had a great relationship with CVS in NC so I started going to this CVs on Union because it was so close to my employer at that time. Before establishing primary care I went to the Minute Clinic with frequency especially as I began to have frequent sinus issues that the care team figured out was allergies. Never had allergies before! I ended up with that awesome care team because the CVS manager at the time saw me come in multiple times for OTC care and he introduced me to Minute Clinic options, suggesting I needed more care. I am so glad he did. The staff was always kind. They were like my first extended family members when I moved especially because they are open 24 hours. There has been a lot of turnover since 2017 so I don't have the familiar faces anymore but I still use this pharmacy and extend them the patience that an obviously over capacity staff of people need and deserve. Even at their busiest they are professional and I find them mostly compassionate in their care. I am horrified that so very many people have had bad service interactions. And wanted to name that has not been my experience. I hope the staff turnover stabilizes and I can see familiar faces again and I hope the pharmacy staff gets the additional staff or support they need to extend the great care I have experienced to others. read more

Oh... my...god. The fact that this place is responsible for getting medications to people... I've never seen a more poorly run business of any kind. It is scary. I have been trying to get a hold of someone for two days. I called the central customer service department and someone tried calling them and they were just as surprised and shocked. They put a complaint in with the district manager... I don't think that will do any good, because if they have been behaving this way, they clearly have no accountability. As a physician who prescribes medications on a daily basis, I hope none of my patients set foot in this pharmacy. Access to healthcare is a problem as it is and this is just another unnecessary barrier and it all comes down to the employees they choose to put behind the counter. read more

This pharmacy is one of the worst I have been to. I have them my prescription- only half was ever ordered- they never sent notifications like they promised. They had 8 people working but no one to help. Head pharmacist was uninterested. I've been using this pharmacy for several years because of the convenient location and 24/7 availability. In the past, I would have given a positive review. Lately, this store is really going down hill. I was excited with the renovation (since the ceilings were always leaking before) but items aren't stocked and the aisles look like a mess. The actual pharmacy is also becoming unreliable- I will call in prescriptions and not get a notification that they are ready. The clerks at the front desk really don't seem to give two toots about you. I really hope that CVS does whatever it takes to improve this store. I imagine that means better wages for their employees so they can be held to a higher standard and hiring additional staff. But, that's only a guess. read more

Pharmacy service is slow. Especially the drive through. And they aren't exactly friendly either. They don't call when prescriptions are ready even though they say they will. Had my car broken into and some belongings stolen on the side of the building right by one of the cameras while I was in there for no more than 5 minutes and they said they "couldn't see anything" on their cameras. 3 days later had to come to pick up another prescription and saw another persons car had been broken into in the same spot. Some of the pharmacy staff is nice and helpful. But, the bad outweighs the good significantly beyond that. For example, when a doctor's office or ER sends a prescription, it is never filled in a reasonable time. I honestly don't think they do fill them unless I call after to check in. So, if I'm sick and need a prescription, I have to stay out an additional few hours or come back a few hours later to pick up my medication rather than it simply being ready when I get there. The App and text message system often tells me prescriptions are ready far before they actually are. Then, when, finally, the prescriptions actually are filled, the wait both inside and outside for the pharmacy is outrageous. They can't find prescriptions. The checkout process, somehow, takes several minutes per person. Occasionally, I'll be the only one in line and catch attentive staff, and get through in less than 15 minutes. I usually don't write reviews but what I have experienced with CVS Pharmacy has me very aggravated. At least 3 times in the past, one most recent, my doctor calls in a prescription for me. I wait a day or so to give the pharmacy time to fill it. NO MATTER what time I go by to pickup my prescription, they're not ready but will be in 30 minutes or an hour. Really? Really now??!!! I hardly ever need prescriptions, but when I do, I get them here. But after my most recent experience, that might change! Driving home from work on a Tuesday, it occurred to me that I had wanted to refill a prescription, but forgotten to call. No big deal, I thought. I'll just call now as I'm driving, I'll stop for gas, and it'll be ready when I get there. Since I didn't have the prescription number, I pressed the prompt for a person. Someone picked up after a few minutes, said they'd be right with me, and put me back on hold. For ten minutes. At which point someone finally picked up, apparently didn't hear me, and hung up. So, I called back, and was placed on hold by the system for another ten minutes, and again hung up on by a real person. Arriving at the pharmacy, I saw exactly 3 people behind the counter, and quite a crowd of folks waiting. The pharmacist gave me a bunch of excuses about how he was floater, this wasn't his store, this wasn't how he runs things, he's understaffed... I told him that no, I didn't want to wait, I was rudely hung up on twice, and to have my prescription ready in a few hours. Returning on Thursday, I asked the pharmacist (a woman, this time) if there was a manger I could speak to about my experience on Tuesday. She paged a manager for me, but after five minutes passed and no one arrived, she asked if she could help. I shared my experience and she told me that someone was on leave, they had had some people call in on Tuesday, etc. She apologized and offered me a gift card, which I accepted. However, it took her and the manger two phone calls to other stores (on their cell phones) to figure out how to activate a card on the register. Seems pretty basic, right? They did give me a $25 card (much more than I expected!), but when I returned later in the week to spend it, many items on one side of the store were low or out of stock. When I asked the cashier, she said they were doing an inventory or reset or something, so they were...wait for it...deliberately letting stock run out. I can't even describe the expression on my face at that point. Suffice to say, I'll think twice before I come here again. read more

Worst pharmacy ever!!! Slowest pharmacy ever!!! Every week different staff. Most seem like interns just doing "what they have to do to graduate from pharmacy school". Everyone seems to hate their job and pass that attitude on to the customer. No real interaction, just reading the computer screen and acting like robots in the corporate gear. Taking my prescriptions back to Rite Aid, at least they look up and give you a hint of recognition when you go there every couple of weeks. read more

I constantly watch 5-8 people shuffling around this pharmacy during prime hours. No one seems to be able to answer the phone after 9 minutes. No one seems to be able to greet people at the drop off area. Is this a thing? I'm just wondering when pharmacy techs are abundant. Shit, homeless people can do a better job than this. I've been on the phone for over 11 minutes on my second call back, all while watching 4 people shuffle around at 8:30 at night on a Wednesday. This is a joke. The wait to pick up my prescription was over 15 minutes. It took 10 for anyone behind the counter to acknowledge my existence. The prescription was short 6 tablets. When I called to see if I could get a prescription filled 3 days early as I was going out of town, the girl who answered the phone said no, not even if the dr called. She then transferred me to a pharmacist who said if my dr called, it could be filled early. I called my dr. Then I get a text from CVS saying it's too early to fill it. I'm going to get it filled in California. Don't use this pharmacy! Poor customer service. Their system is flawed. Very flawed. read more

I move from Texas and relocate here do to my job, I was in your store yesterday to pick up my prescription there was a line the pharmacy staff was so busy like robots 1 cashier. There was a black young man whom I later learn his name John manager on duty. I was in the line with my daughter its always a long line however it was my turn when a lady whom i saw in line but got out the line sat down when they was asking if you have a vaccine appointment to have a seat. The lady ask john can he see if she has prescription he replies yes she ask him what was it he replied he a briefs description what it was , She ask what exactly is that he replied that hippa that he can't give that information she replied that's not what she ask . my hat goes off to people that work in a public places kike this. She was rude going off on him he went told the young lady to come that he was leaving. I would have left her standing there as well nobody needs to be talk to like specially when you got out line jumping in front of people. I was looking for him to tell him he did right by not giving information from across like that . Beware of this pharmacy if you are taking critical medications for which their can be no disruption in supply. This pharmacy is very mixed up and cannot fill a prescription on time despite having the prescription days in advance. After waiting for the the day CVS indicated they would fill the prescription, CVS then advised they had to order the medication resulting in further delay?!? CVS had no explanation of why the medication had never been ordered. In addition to this first basic failure, CVS problem solving was just as poor. CVS could offer no viable solutions to resolve the problem or to cover the days for which I would be out of medication. The CVS pharmacy staff was limited and there was no manager available that may have been able to offer advanced solutions. I thought it impossible that there could be a "pharmacy" worse than Walgreens, but CVS even beat this very low standard. CVS caused me multiple days of misery due to their incompetence. Overall, very disappointing experience on all accounts. read more

Oh CVS! Shame on you for making me look like an ass hat. I'll be the first to admit when I'm wrong about something, and though I still think CVS is light years better than most of the convenience stores in Memphis, I was horribly disappointed in their pharmacy and had to retract a star. To be fair, I slept on it a couple nights and am only taking one away, but had I written it the night all of this occurred CVS would have gotten negative infinite stars. Long story short- my 1 month old son has developed a severe case of acid reflux. When I say severe, I mean that there is not a minute of the day except when sleeping (which isn't much) that he isn't screaming bloody murder. Our pediatrician phoned in a prescription to the pharmacy of our choice- insert CVS here- and asked us to stop giving him the previous prescription. Which means, my son was an utter and complete vision of the devil spawn until this prescription was ready. My husband stopped on his way home to pick it up, and imagine his surprise when they told him they didn't have it in stock and had to phone it in to their Stage Rd location. Ummmm....what? Why was there not a phone call attached to this change of plans? Especially given my husband works in Cordova and had to back track all the way to Stage Rd while I was stuck at home with a screaming baby. There are no words for how angry I was that evening, and even though I've since calmed down I will not be giving CVS my pharmaceutical business any longer. That was one of the most ridiculous experiences I've had. A simple phone call would have rectified the entire situation. read more

For 2017 CVS was one of the few pharmacies who took my insurance. I would call and they would tell me that my prescriptions were ready. I would go up there and they would dig through vast piles only to tell me that they had to order the medicine and to come back the next day. I came back, and they would not have it; always an excuse. It would happen month after month. I would call and and ask them to lay hands on my medicine and they would say it was ready. I was often forced to miss doses because of their incompetence. They would also not follow up with my doctor to see why there was a delay if they requested refills. This a tremendously disorganized pharmacy and the prices of the merchandise in the store are very expensive. Luckily my insurance has changed this year and I have more choices. read more

I've been using the pharmacy at this CVS for about 4 years. Everything was pretty smooth sailing until about 5 or 6 months ago. Something has changed. They now manage to mess up my very easy prescriptions every single month. I think the problem is probably with the system and not with the employees because the employees are still pretty cool. With us not having a Target or Walmart anywhere near us having a loyalty card here is starting to pay off! I use this place as my need anything random store from baby snacks, diapers and milk to aluminum foil and last minute birthday toys. I adore CVS and it is on the corner of Cooper and Union and even though I could walk to it I always drive. The only thing I hate is trying to get out of that place. I usually just go around back by the pharmacy drive thru and turn onto Cooper bc Union drivers are ugggggh. The staff here is also friendly. They will help you find anything and they will also let you know if you have a free item offer or some CVS bucks. And we all like CVS bucks right? read more

First off, the staff at CVS are very pleasant, and the Pharmacy is about 1000% faster and more helpful than the Walgreens down the street, which I am glad I never to drive through again. I get more coupons from their extra care card more frequently than with Walgreens program. They might not have as many items to choose from as the Walgreens for each category, and fewer gift like items, but it has become my new drugstore of choice, and I don't think it is any uglier than the Ike's across the street. read more

It's unbelievable just how bad this pharmacy is. I was told my prescription would be ready by five when I called two hours earlier. Not only wasn't it ready, which I expected, but they hadn't even gotten the proper authorization to do it. The employee totally screwed up, and instead of doing something to make it right, they just threw up their hands and said oh we'll have to get to it tomorrow. I had a great experience at this clinic and pharmacy. We were visiting from out of town and my daughter got very sick with the flu. I was able to get an appointment immediately, the nurse was kind and efficient, and the pharmacy staff was very helpful in sorting out insurance for the prescription. This is one of the worst pharmacies I have ever had to use. The waiting area for the pharmacy is tiny and anyone waiting can hear all of your business. The staff is generally friendly but that is the only thing I can say about this location that is nice. The staff is very slow and messes up my refills constantly. I've had to come back several times for the same prescription and still had to wait because it was not filled. I signed up for automatic refills. I got a text message indicating my scripts were ready for pick up. The next day I got a call that my scripts were available for pick up. The day after that I come in to get my scripts. Boom- 2 out of the 3 scripts haven't been filled and I have to wait... Again. One of my scripts is for ADD and they refuse to hold the script if they have to order the medication. This means I have to come in to ask them to order the medication, come back to drop off my script once they get the meds in, then come back yet again to pick up the medication. I used to use the rite aid pharmacy but had to switch to here because of my health insurance. Rite aid never made me come back to drop off a script when they had to order a medication. The prices in the rest of the store are also higher than the prices at Walgreens or Rite aid. If I could, I would go back to using the Walgreens at Union which is notorious for its problematic script filling. At least their waiting area is somewhat spacious and the prices are cheaper. read more

Always, always understaffed in their pharmacy. Workers are super friendly but corporate or whomever is in charge of staffing needs to hire more pharmacists. I got tired of waiting a half an hour+ in line to pick up meds - even when I called refills in in advance - and switched to another pharmacy. Had to go back to this CVS today because I had not transferred a medicine I don't use as frequently - called in the refill this morning, automatic system told me it would be ready by 1pm. Got there at 1:45 and it was still not ready - told me they needed at least another 30-40 minutes. I do not blame the pharmacist - he was the only one there - they need to hire more. read more
